"So, unless you find a way to unbind yourself from here, this damn loop of ours will continue on till one of us is completely dead. And we both know who that’s going to be."

"Yes we do."

"I will win in the end Amael. That’s inevitable."

"We’re done here Beelzebub."

~ ~ ~

Resting his humanoid visage on his curled fist as he sat authoritatively on his throne, Beelzebub slowly opened his pitch-black eyes, his last exchange with Amael surfacing in his thoughts.

The throne room of his gloomy, bleak castle was deserted, with only him left in its expansive and unsettling architectural structure.

Just an hour ago, he had sent his two standby generals along with the other three to the Abyssal Gate, a towering monolith present at the far north of Infernia.

Lightly tapping his dark, scaly-looking fingers on the arm rest of his crimson-red throne that pulsated with ominous nether energy, each tap echoed in the empty throne room as Beelzebub mused to himself.

’I’m almost there…’

’This time, I’ll conquer Arcanora…’

’Finally, this long conquest will end…’

’And I can ensure that the world returns to nothingness…’

Halting his thoughts there, Beelzebub frowned a bit when Amael’s condescending gaze resurfaced in his mind.

That look was one he hated to the core of his very being but at the same time, he was extremely wary of it.

Despite knowing fully well that the Hero was trapped in the Astral Plane for good and he was getting weak, enough that he probably couldn’t reset the world again if he took over Arcanora, The Demon King couldn’t help but feel like he should never underestimate Amael.

Gazing down at the deep gash on his chest which had long healed but still left a deep scar, one that shouldn’t even be apparent considering his ultra-regeneration, Beelzebub had a sudden thought;

’He couldn’t have figured out the key to my immortality, could he…?’

Slightly tilting his head, Beelzebub suddenly broke into a proud malicious laughter, his voice echoing through the hallways of his castle and chilling the spines of all the other demon kins going about their own duties.

It wasn’t a weird occurrence to most of them if they were being honest as it happened every once in a while with their Liege.

But at the same time, even they as demons, still felt very uncomfortable by the malice contained in said laughter.

As for the Demon King himself, the thought of someone possibly knowing about the secret of his immortality, seemed so unbelievable to him that the possibility of it happening was next to zero in his opinion.

Not even his most loyal subjects knew of his life-long secret so it was insulting, even to Beelzebub himself, that he could have such thoughts about someone from another planet finding out about it.

As a result, the Demon King casually brushed the nonsensical thought away, believing that it was the strong aftereffects of whatever potent holy magic Amael had casted.

’That being said…’

Instantly, the humanoid figure with a regal yet dangerous aura to him, disappeared and reappeared right before a towering monolith, miles away from his castle.

’Let’s not take any chances’ he declared with a serious expression.

No sooner had he thought of this, the demons who guarded and controlled access to the Abyssal Gate, lowered the drawbridge and informed everyone else with a blow of their giant horns.

"His Majesty is here!!!"

Quickly, multiple demons, rushed out the gates in a robotic manner, all of them performing the same actions as they eventually kneeled in eerie synchrony, making way for their Liege.

"Welcome to the Abyssal Gate, our King!!!" they chanted loudly in unison, welcoming Beelzebub with their show of their reverence and loyalty.

Not even bothering to acknowledge their pleasantries, Beelzebub moved forward like a floating spectre, his feet just centimeters above the ground as he made his way forwards.

There was an ominous crimson light that shot up straight from the Monolith he was headed towards, it’s pulsating swirling vortex of nether energy, forcefully ripping through the fabric of time and space to open up multiple fissures in the crimson red sky, all of which they used to traverse to other worlds.

"My Liege. To what honor do we owe this visit of yours?" Astaroth, a warlock who was a dark elf and one of his five generals, suddenly appeared out of thin air and knelt before him.

"Where are the other generals?" Beelzebub asked in reply instead.

"Upper floors my Liege. Just like you instructed, they’re infusing the Fabric Warp with more nether energy to speed up the invasion process" Astaroth replied, his head lowered in fear and reverence.

At the exact same time, both individuals blinked to the upper floors, still with Beelzebub maintaining his solemn gaze and Astaroth bowing.

Standing at the second floor of the massive wide hall, watching as the rest of his generals, Evangel the Primordial Vampire, Kilgor The Orcen King and his twin demon generals, Vespar and Zarok, drew the energy out of their useless livestock (weaker races) which were locked up in glass-like chambers to power up the pyramidal machine that was firing its crimson beam to the sky, he casually gave an order.

"Have them burn up and exterminate the wyvern race for more energy"

"As you wish, my Liege" Astaroth bowed and disappeared in an instant, off to do as he was told without question.

’This should speed up the invasion by a few more months…’ Beelzebub’s expression was cold and unfeeling as he mused to himself.

(Present day, two months later…)

"Ye had that dream again eh, Xavier?" Novier’s familiar voice woke the man from his short nap.

Reminded of the last time he saw his brother in the flesh and all the events before that, Xavier woke up with renewed motivation.

Currently in the man’s quaint store, the man, after blinking his bleary eyes a few times, got up from the chair he was in and stretched a little.

Even though sleeping wasn’t a necessity for him anymore, just like eating, all as a result of his EX rank, things did get mentally exhausting for him so he needed to take a short break every once in a while to recover.

Not that he’d ever let anyone know about that.

"Yeah I did older me" he eventually responded to Novier who was currently rocking on his small chair.

"Mayhaps, Amael shouldn’t have returned me in this image…" Novier gently shook his head at Xavier’s words, a slight smile on his face.

The old man, was essentially, Xavier’s fragmented memories from fifteen millenniums back that Amael had returned when he had reached the Astral Plane to occasionally contact Xavier.

Due to the fact that those fragmented memories had actually spent much more years than Xavier himself had spent repeating the last few hundred years of Arcanora, the man had resorted to referring to Novier as an older version of himself.

This was especially so, since Novier, despite not being fully human, was still an entity that had a personality quite similar to his.

"Aye. It be alright" Novier simply waved Xavier off after saying that and then changed subjects, curious about Aiden and Flynn’s progress.

"Those two young’uns? They be doin’ their best?"

"They’re progressing at a rapid pace… Maybe even too rapid" Xavier stated, a bit concerned about the rigorous training process the Valkyries had been putting the two youths through these past two months.

"Aye, ain’t that a good thing?" Novier tilted his head in response.

"It is…" Xavier simply let out those words, seemingly already pondering over something else he was more worried about.

A few seconds later though, he then asked;

"The Astral Plane… How… How long do you think it’ll take them to reach it once they can open a reverse fissure?"

To that, Novier mused a bit, after which he then said;

"Amael spent roughly 5,000 years afore gettin’ through it…"

"They might end up spendin’ roughly three times that exact time…" Novier concluded and to that, Xavier let out a genuinely worried sigh.

The two youths were inevitably in for hellish experience when that time came and the Head Dean felt genuinely bad that he couldn’t help out or interfere in the process.

"Still, they might also have an easier time than Amael did…" Novier spoke again whilst stroking his beard.

"If they be making quick use of their wits, that be…" he added with a thoughtful gaze, one that only he understood.

Just as restrictions were placed on Authorities and the individuals who could use them, Novier had explained to Xavier back when he first came to being that information about the Astral Plane could not be shared.

And indeed, when the old man had tried to tell Xavier about it, he had experienced something akin to a glitch where he just started spouting gibberish, further proving his point.

Xavier on the other hand, seeing the expression on Novier’s face, simply let out another sigh, hoping that things would work in the favor of the two youths.

A wave of silence was exchanged between both individuals, multiple thoughts running through their heads.

However, after a few more seconds, Xavier sensed something unusual outside the store and broke the silence, all whilst donning his usual amiable expression as he stated;

"It’s time I headed out…"

"Aye. Be seeing you soon. Stay safe" Novier slightly waved in reply, already understanding what was going on.

Slightly nodding, Xavier moved towards the door, twisted its knob, and made his exit out of the quaint store.

Stepping out to the deserted Bazaar district of Arcana Academy, the Head Dean was assaulted by the slight breeze that swept his hair a bit sideways.

Currently occupying the skies, were a few ominous dark-red slits, each of them dimly-lit yet still very unsettling.

They also cast a dull-red tint to the sky, further adding to the disquieting atmosphere.

Unperturbed by the sight though, Xavier’s gaze was locked onto the dark-red slit a few meters ahead of him, two creatures, a traitor vampire and a dark elf, casually stepping out of it.

Upon spotting Xavier though, both creatures’ traces of leisure disappeared and their expressions instantly changed into one of deep fear and trepidation.

"(I-I-It’s you!)" the vampire pointed its long pale finger, trembling as it spoke in its native tongue.

"(R-R-Retreat!!)" the dark elf quickly took a step backwards in fear, ready to jump straight back into the fissure.

"(There’s no escape)" Xavier simply smiled in response as he took a single step towards them, his horrifying wave of bloodlust mercilessly descending upon the two figures, instantly rooting them to the spot as the primal fear in their eyes became evident.

"(You were marked for death the moment you desecrated my academy with those vile, filthy legs of yours)" the Head Dean added definitively, his smile disappearing in an instant.

Before the two races could even scream in fear, their heads were cleanly separated from their body, blood spurting into the air like a fountain.
