Extra And MC-Chapter 76 - 72 - First Day, First Class I
Flynn Belmont was seated in one of the many seats present in the hall of their classroom, the middle-seat rows to be precise, while reading through what seemed to be a telekinesis spell book despite his peers constantly sneaking glances at him.
The classroom was humming with excitement as the voices of the cadets blended with the academic feel that was present in the classroom.
While some students just like Flynn, especially the studious ones, were already reading through various books, the rest of the class was mostly just discussing about mundane things.
Despite just being the first day of classes, cliques and groups had already started forming and every youth, regardless of their status, already had something they were doing, no matter how useful or useless it was.
Even then, not every student was currently present in the class right now because in all fairness, despite the immensely wide classroom being quite large and accommodating about a hundred students of the A-class, which was also the highest ranked class, about fifty cadets were still not present just yet.
Considering it was just the first day and classes started at 9:00am prompt, it was genuinely an interesting sight to see so many students presently in the class at 7:16am.
That being said, even though Flynn Belmont was currently being stared at by so many other cadets presently in the hall, especially the females, the youth kept his attention solely on his spell book.
As he kept reading through the spell book, a peculiar spell called [Willbend], which was the absolute peak of control for the [Telekinetic Series], popped into his mind.
Flynn following this, then began to think back to when he and Aiden had first gotten the idea for their new spells, [Ether Blades] and [Reversal].
Just like any other day that he had been flipping through the spell book for a new spell that his high-tier C-rank core could handle, the wind from the open windows had fluttered the pages of his spell book and Flynn’s eyes had landed on the spell called [Willbend], which was simply put, the ability to control anything within an expansively wide range as long you were S-rank and above.
However, he had not even tried to test it out because obviously, his core rank couldn’t handle it but nevertheless, it had given him a pretty nice idea on how to create a far weaker version of it.
Using Julius Hargreaves’s permission as an executive to have access to the room where weapon arts were stored due to his unique mana wavelength on the registered mana walls as a template, the youth had opted to go buy mana slates instead.
After modifying the edges into ridiculously sharpened blades and registering his own unique mana wavelength on it, Flynn had been able to create a spell that maximized his mana usage efficiency while reducing mana costs.
However, actually being able to control the mana slates while using it as a way to traverse in the air had turned out to be far too much for his C-rank core.
But as luck would have it, just a week before the entrance exams, the youth had broken through into low-tier B-rank core, now making it possible for him to use the slates as he had wished.
Yes, Flynn Belmont was now a B-ranker, something that instead of surprising his parents at the time, they had both just accepted the oddity of their son’s abilities and talents.
As a result, when the vipertalons were released into the arena on the day of the entrance exam, it had come as an opportune moment for him to effectively test it out, an opportunity he gladly utilized.
Aiden on the other hand, had originally planned to not create any new spells but upon witnessing Briar staring at a small bunch of worker ants on a tree as they went about their duties, carrying all manners of tiny foodstuffs back into their colony, the black-haired youth had gotten a pretty interesting idea.
The youth upon then having that moment of realization, had immediately moved closed to Briar and had given her a peck on her cheek, much to the little girl’s slight confusion yet happiness.
’What if I can omni-directionally walk on things without falling off?’ he had asked Flynn with a very excited look that very same day.
Flynn however, had told him that achieving that might be quite hard considering he’d need to reverse gravity within a set field around him and accurately control said reverse gravitational field.
Aiden nonetheless, despite already knowing that that was what he was going to need to do before even asking Flynn, had considered it a way to challenge himself to even greater heights and push past his limits.
After about two weeks of practicing though, Aiden had realized that reversing the field around him came with so many benefits yet so much mana usage.
For one, the prospect of flying through the air was no longer a pipe-dream for him but when he tried it, upon just staying in the air for a few seconds, he immediately fell back down, all of his mana drained in an instant.
As a result, the emerald-eyed youth had come to the conclusion that it was only when he was at a much higher core rank that flying would become feasible but even then, Aiden had settled on doing something asides just walking on things.
If he could activate the spell for just a second at mid-air and immediately discontinue it just like his [Zero] spell, he could theoretically be able to kick off the air, almost like an invisible platform was placed underneath him, something he actually eventually succeeded at.
This movement would be able to grant him a lot of mobility, especially when considering the numerous times he had been flung back into the air without any way of stabilizing himself properly in so many of his fights.
After reminiscing and reading through the spell book some more, Flynn sighed and closed the book, while placing it gently on the table as he once again felt the numerous of so many ladies on him.
The silvery-green haired youth then propped his head with his hands, a bored look gracing his face as he watched the scenery of the lively classroom hall.
’Academic atmosphere sure is the same in every universe isn’t it…’ he pondered to himself.
’That being said though… I’m not a rare specimen at some zoo exhibit, am I?’ he inwardly questioned due to the constant stares directed towards him.
’I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this kind of feeling…’ he continued with his inner monologues.
’Sigh… Where’s my shield of a brother when you need him? He’d absolutely be soaking up this type of atmosphere…’ Flynn inwardly commented.
As Flynn glanced around the classroom, his eyes would occasionally make contact with one lady or the other and upon this coincidence happening, the ladies would swiftly tear their gazes away from him, their cheeks and the tips of their ears taking a shade of blushing red.
Yet, despite this happening, no one in the hall was yet to approach Flynn Belmont.
Well, to be honest, most of them felt like they could not.
For the commoners, Flynn Belmont being from a Duchy was already too high of a hurdle for them despite the fact that quite a few of them actually wished to converse with him.
However, for so many of the nobles, there was a completely different reason as to why the rest felt like they could not approach him.
Asides a select few like Adrian and Beatrice along with Caroline and surprisingly, even Bryan, who had actually stood up for him a few times here and there discreetly without his knowledge over the years, the rest had not.
Hence, they were very ashamed to approach him right now, ashamed of themselves for never standing up for him all those years ago and completely ignoring him despite knowing that the things they did were not very humane.

He had been abused so many times with hurtful words both in a concealed manner and openly, had drink poured onto his clothes at several balls and events while the culprits usually claimed for it to be ’accident’, ostracized so many times and even looked down upon with deep disdain and contempt.
All for what?! Because the youth’s core rank had not been worthy of the title of being a noble to them? As if that was something they were supposed to decide on their own. As if it was their right to judge what makes a person’s worth.
Now, upon realizing that the youth was progressing forward, even despite their verdict about his worth and his lower core rank, whilst even showing immense talent in the art of swordplay by practicing the hardest weapon art, the nobles felt quite ashamed to have cut off connections with someone akin to a prodigy and were finding it immensely hard to re-forge those connections with him.
However, despite seemingly deducing what their internal thoughts were, Flynn couldn’t really care less.
Being the kind of person he was, there were very few things that could really cause him to care about their motives unless it was absolutely necessary.
He, just like his brother, was someone who did not find it progressive to linger on the past because it would only end up tying you down.
As Flynn once again swept his eyes across the wide classroom, he took in the structural design of the class.
Ornate tapestries with a very modern feel to it, adorned the walls and windows, alongside a wide holographic display that was placed directly and just behind the elevated platform that had a podium for the instructors.
Sleek, long modern desks and chairs that were fused together, were evenly placed and spaced all across the entirety of the classroom in a semi-circular staircase format while the cadets who occupied them, could be seen having animated discussions along with the occasional burst of laughter.
Upon continuously observing the atmosphere of the class, the door to the class suddenly opened and in walked in every single popular noble youth in Arcadia.
From Aiden himself, who had a stressed look on his face on some reason, to Ivelia and Ivar with similarly tired looks, Caroline who was currently beaming for some reason, Adrian and Beatrice who seemed to be having discussions of their own, Amelia and Bryan who were also having their own conversation and finally, Lucas and Ben who just walked in individually, their own expressions normal.
’What’s with those main character-esque like entrance from all of them?’ Flynn inwardly asked himself while looking at all ten youths, his bored expression unchanging.
Following their entrance though, the entire class erupted into a hum of excited hushed noises as they began to engage in conversations about all the youths that had just entered the wide classroom.
