Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 144: Assassination Attempt
After that genuine thrashing, Eugene was quickly taken to the infirmary. After Raymond stopped the match, he couldn’t even stay conscious, fainting almost immediately.
His limp body, carried on a stretcher, gave the impression of a man on the verge of death. His swollen face, his limbs hanging loosely, nothing remained of the arrogant third-circle mage. Just a broken boy, humiliated in front of everyone. The sight was simply pathetic.
Raymond, for his part, ended the class without another word and disappeared right away. His face was closed off, his jaw clenched. Everything had spiraled out of control. Nothing had gone as planned. Eugène was supposed to beat Kara, crush her, prove once again the superiority he preached relentlessly.
But instead, it was him who had been reduced to crawling and begging. How could they have known that this bastard’s only real quality was his big mouth... he wasn’t even capable of accomplishing such a simple task.
How was he supposed to show his face in front of his students now? He too had the wild urge to slap Eugène to death for this humiliation.
’All because of that damned Kaiser...’ he thought as he strode quickly down the corridor. ’...Yes, if he hadn’t kept defending that girl, none of this would have escalated like that.’
"Professor, you seem angry."
A young boy, probably a second-year, had just crossed paths with him. "What happened?... By the way, about the..."
"I’m not in the mood," Raymond cut him off sharply without even looking at him, continuing on his way.
The young boy, understanding the situation, didn’t insist. He had never seen Raymond in such a state before; it looked like he could explode at any moment.
Meanwhile...
Inside the training hall, the atmosphere was completely different. The students, gradually leaving the place, continued to comment on the duel with excitement.
"I didn’t know she was that strong..." one of them murmured, still shaken by the image of Eugene shamelessly begging for his life.
"Shit... and here I was bothering her sometimes," another one said, wiping cold sweat from his forehead. "Luckily she never targeted me."
A shiver ran down his back. Eugène had been lucky that the professor stopped the fight. If Kara had continued, he didn’t know if the mage would still be alive.
"You filthy idiot, didn’t you say she was weak?" the same student from before the fight snapped in annoyance. "That’s what you call weakness?... I think it’s your brain that’s weak..."
"..."
The other didn’t reply. He had nothing to say anyway; he too had been caught off guard by how the fight unfolded. He had seen how she struggled to even touch Kaiser... there was no way his eyes had deceived him.
Nevertheless, this fight had clarified two things. The first was that Kara was absolutely not weak. The second, far more terrifying, was Kaiser’s true level. If he had been able to dominate her without using either aura or swords... that said a lot about his real capabilities.
Unconsciously, several students began to move away from the duo. A cautious distance settled in. Kara, however, approached Kaiser, visibly relaxed, almost cheerful.
"So, did you get to unload all the anger that was piling up in your little heart?" Kaiser asked with an amused smile.
"Yeah. I feel a lot better after beating the shit out of that loser," she replied bluntly. "Even though I would have liked to hit him a bit more."
She paused. "...But despite everything, I still have a grudge against that Raymond."
Kaiser gently patted her head.
"Don’t worry. You’ll get your revenge on him. You just need to keep training. When the time comes, you’ll be able to show him reality in your own way."
Kara growled slightly but nodded.
They then headed to the cafeteria and shared a quiet meal. Afterward, Kara went to attend her last class of the day, while Kaiser, free of any obligations, made his way back to his mansion.
He might not have had classes, but he still had a lot to do. His Nostradamus project, in particular, was far from finished.
’I’d love to just take it easy... but damn, I still have so much to do,’ he thought, sitting in the small vehicle that carried him through the residential district.
’After all this... maybe I’ll be able to consider a peaceful retirement.’
The scenery passed before his eyes. For a moment he imagined himself under a palm tree, coconut in hand, far from all this chaos.
"But that’s not for today..." he sighed.
When he arrived at his mansion, the sun was already setting. Orange and golden hues bathed the gardens and the walls of the residence, offering a breathtaking view.
Later, settled in his bathtub, Kaiser watched the sunset through a wide opening. The hot water relaxed his muscles. The only thing missing from this perfect picture was a female presence to share the moment with.
"...Unfortunately, you don’t always get everything you want," he sighed.
After his bath, he spent the rest of the afternoon working, writing, thinking, mentally adjusting his plans. When he finally went to bed, the night was already well advanced.
However...
A shiver ran through his body.
His senses snapped awake brutally. He raised his eyes just before leaping out of bed. One more second and he would have been dead.
Two masked figures, entirely dressed in black, had broken into his home. Their presence was silent, methodical.
"Who are you?" Kaiser asked in a calm but irritated voice. "And what the hell are you doing in my house at this hour?"
No answer.
The two strangers drew their daggers and attacked without hesitation.
"Not only do you break into people’s homes in the middle of the night, but you also attack them," Kaiser growled as he twisted to avoid a blade that passed a few centimeters from his throat. "You pack of dogs."
He grabbed his sword.
At first, he had thought he would finish them quickly. But he changed his mind. He was at home. He didn’t want to damage this house he had only just acquired.
The first attacker struck again. Kaiser deflected the dagger with a precise movement, then crushed the man’s wrist with a sharp blow. The bone snapped with a clean crack.
The man screamed, a dry, primal scream.
"So you’re not mute after all?"
Without wasting time, Kaiser followed up. A horizontal slash cleanly severed the man’s throat. The body collapsed heavily. Blood sprayed across the parquet floor.
"Shit..." Kaiser spat as he saw the blood flowing. "And you, aren’t you going to tell me who sent you?" he said, turning toward the other one who tried to attack him from behind.
Mistake.
Kaiser spun, grabbed the armed arm and twisted it violently, forcing the dagger to drop. A knee to the abdomen doubled the attacker over.
"You’re just weak. For fuck’s sake!"
He slammed him against the wall. The impact shook the entire room. The last one was clearly in a bad spot, his accomplice already lying on the floor in a pool of blood, but he attacked anyway. In any case, he knew escape in front of Kaiser was impossible.
Kaiser sighed.
"You really picked the wrong house."
He advanced without haste, dodging the dagger coming toward his right flank and, with a blow to the solar plexus, pushed the man back. The man was gasping.
Kaiser stepped forward, not understanding the situation at all. These were clearly assassins, but why the hell were they so weak? Not a single attack worth mentioning; it was as if they had been sent to get themselves killed.
’Do they take me for an executioner...?!’ Kaiser thought.
"Listen, if you tell me who sent you, I’ll spare you!" Kaiser finally said, but something was wrong.
A massive amount of mana was dangerously accumulating inside the man’s body.
"He wasn’t a mage...!" Kaiser wondered, perplexed, but the next instant he realized.
< Human bomb >
"Shit, this lunatic!" Understanding the man’s intentions, Kaiser quickly closed the distance and with a clean slash severed his throat, stopping the explosion just as the body fell heavily to the floor.
A silhouette emerged from the ground. It was an elf.
Kaiser was about to attack when he recognized the face.
"Is that you, Ragnar?"
"Ragnar, disciple of Master Eleanor, at your service," he said with a bow.
Kaiser looked at him disapprovingly, thinking of Eleanor’s words: ’Surveilling my ass. The guy was grilling a barbecue; I had time to eliminate the threat before he could do anything.’
"You’re late, man. Anyway, get rid of the bodies to avoid any unnecessary problems. I don’t want the maids cleaning blood in my bedroom."
Ragnar nodded.
"What the hell was that?" Kaiser sighed as he dropped onto the sofa behind him, trying to figure out who could possibly hate him this much.
’Raymond?’ he thought before dismissing the possibility. ’...He’s too proud and prefers to torture his enemies himself.’ 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
’Godwin maybe?’ he concluded after some thought, but again it didn’t fit. He knew that bastard didn’t need assassins; it wasn’t his style. He wanted to crush him, not just kill him cowardly.
But amid all this chaos, one conclusion remained clear. "Whoever it is, they underestimated me..." Kaiser muttered.
"Hey Ragnar, don’t forget to investigate those bodies."
"It will be done, The Predator." He said as he melted into the shadows with the corpses.
