[ Progeny stone? Is this artifact for Descendants? ]

’No’.

Hearing systems words where naturally progeny means a descendant as per the literature I can’t fail but remember how stupid name it was for an artifact which can bring one’s ancestor or forefather’s soul.

It was as if the name was given without even knowing its meaning, showing another factor where it appeared the author had no naming sense or even thinking of giving an understandable name to such artifacts which had nothing to do with descendants.

But not caring much about talking down on some author, I focused on my thought as I finally could see individuals other than soldiers or servants moving in opposite or along with me in the direction of a building which was a royal library.

Focusing on present, where I was literally within a story which was incomplete and had too much plots which might be considered as clear plot holes, giving a disadvantage to me in this story, only in case if I was aware of it.

Among that was this artifact which was mentioned in the latter part of the story where some random noble family within Azure Flame Kingdom had been hijacked by a spy and stolen this artifact, giving it to a nearby kingdom where it fell in hand of one of the major characters there.

Not that I was aware of which noble family was in the question here.

So I cannot do anything about them.

But at least I was aware of the exact location of that fact.

So before them, I would claim it for myself.

"Is this the right book for dual cultivation?"

"Do you really believe in that fantasy?"

"You can’t even use a cauldron properly due to the law, haha."

While moving, I cannot help but notice the conversation of the people moving out of the library.

As I was still away from it, moving, one cannot help but find it amazing how this world had two faces, where it appeared heaven for those with strength, given the feudal system favoring the hierarchy based on the strength.

But on the other hand, the basic fundamentals of the cultivators were messed up given they preferred to gain strength at any cost even as far as to forget their morals.

Unlike the popular stories of dual cultivation, in this world, there were rarely individuals possessing such physique in the first place.

Given it was very rare, though of course, those very rare were major characters.

Leading to some individuals to consider an easier path than this known by several names—Furnace, Cauldron, Cultivation Furnace, Yin Furnace, Yang Furnace, Yin Nourishing Vessel, Yang Replenishing Vessel, Life Essence Furnace, Harvesting, Essence Extraction, Yin-Yang Cultivation.

There were several names of it, but in the end, it was simply devouring others’ cultivation, even at half of its usual value, leading to individual’s death or permanent foundation damage.

This was a technique practiced rarely due to strict laws imposed upon royal family.

But, of course, who cares about the laws made by those who themselves are in controversy of using this demonic method.

’Finally’.

Putting aside those useless thoughts, I arrived at the gate of the library before entering as I saw the huge walls stretching until the eyes could see.

It was an enormous space with several books and individuals moving around with the books which appeared similar to those cultivation ones written by hand and stitched by threads.

Even though it was hardly managed 6th June for only the royals to enter, the number around was simply the children of the royal family—indeed more than 100.

Not all belonged to the king, but instead included elders, branch family members, and those getting the nearest arrival line in them, allowing them to have access to the first floor of the library.

The second and third floors were completely reserved for royalty.

Ignoring it, I made my way forward towards the reception.

"Hello, I want to get some books from the second floor, give me key to that floor," I said, arriving near the reception, only to see an old man seated with a white beard.

That look of emphasis clearly emerged in a book as his eyes sighed and glanced towards me, lifting only slightly.

"May I inquire your identity, young man?" the old man inquired, his sharp look making me feel how few others were halting nearby, looking towards my direction after hearing that I wanted to enter the second floor.

And it was even more legit why they would feel that way—first floor was accessible to everyone with a royal bloodline, even if they were from branch families, but the second floor was only accessible to those with direct royal bloodline or in a very close relationship with them.

The third floor was strictly for the King and his wives or the Dowager and her husband (given she was unmarried, so no one in this case).

Each floor had a different level of cultivation techniques, and the third floor definitely had the ones that laid the foundation of this kingdom.

Cultivation techniques ranged from forbidden ones to those exclusively written by the founder of this kingdom.

Not that I had anything to do with the third floor, considering the progeny stone was at the second floor.

"Yes, I am Kyle Arcutus and soon-to-be husband of Aleriana Vandreat," I said naturally.

To get access to the second floor, I needed to introduce myself as the soon-to-be husband of Princess Aleriana, but given the consequences that I expected, I instantly felt glares etching into my back.

Those within a 10-meter range were clearly showing hostility towards me.

It was good that I had been in a much better state and control, or else there would have already been two or three individuals lying on the floor due to the malice intent emanating from them.

"....I see," the old man said, seeming much calmer even after hearing my identity.

He handed me a note before taking out a plaque from the nearby drawer, placing it on the table as he offered it to me.

I led my eyes to settle on it before grabbing it and turning to move towards the direction leading to the second floor.

"Hey, it was him, right?"

"Yes, so he is Kyle."

"Should I introduce myself?"

One after another, voices from the individuals nearby reached me.

Given their words, it appeared these were particularly from weaker branch families who were eager to form an alliance with an illegitimate son like me, who was going to marry a princess with no power whatsoever.

But uncaring, I kept moving as soon enough the conversation and individuals changed.

"I can’t even sense a speck of internal energy. Is he really Kyle?"

"Maybe he was banished due to being crippled."

"Pathetic illegitimate son of who knows whom, haha."

’Shut up, idiots,’ I thought to myself while ignoring the side characters whose work was simply to get face slapped.

I moved towards the direction where soon enough a big stairway came into view.

Considering the guard standing nearby, I moved towards them while ignoring a few of the glares directed at me, as not everyone among these fools were interested in looking towards a worthless person like me.
