Extra's Harem: Invincibility Starts with Marriage and lots of Children-Chapter 48 - - Bad day
Snap
I snapped my finger in a way to make it clearly visible to those chuckling on the floor while looking towards the stairs, where I stood with Alden’s hands still gripping my shoulder, with my intentions being clearly to let all of them see that the source of what is about to happen is me.
thud thud
Two sounds reverted one after another as both the soldiers fell like windless boards, their eyes hollow with mouths flushing a bit of saliva, their muscular bodies falling flat on the floor with soon enough a sound reverberating inside the library.
GASP
"Wh-what happened to them?!"
"Help them, did they lose balance or what?"
Given the fall being sudden, with them not having any expectations of the guards being already dead, a few of them came forward to help the guards, clearly confused as they would definitely not expect someone in the late third layer to just die without any struggle.
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
Everything happened so instantly that they didn’t even have time to process it, but among all of them, those who came forward to help the guards struck with a realization, understanding what had occurred here.
"Th-they are dead?!!"
I could only hear the voices coming from behind me as I directly turned my gaze towards Alden, ignoring everything as I kept looking into his eyes, which were trembling visibly, settled on those bodies as from my observation most probably he was able to sense their internal energy being now extinguished.
Yet, among all this, I achieved what I wanted.
Evident from Alden’s loosening grip on my shoulder, his fingers became lighter, and his pupils contracted, while he did not even turn away from those corpses.
As I shrugged off his hand, I made my way up, trying to leave the place.
"Y-you—!" but before I could move much of two or three stairs, I found my arm being gripped by him as Alden yelled, his voice breaking into one with a high pitch, like some woman, showing he was really shaken and yelled with all might.
Before my head settled in his direction, he once again yelled.
"What you did to them?! You bastard!"
Again that annoying behavior with the hand still firm enough to grip me in place made my anger slightly lose control, forgetting for a moment that Alden was still a teenager with not much control over his emotions.
I swiftly hurled my hand, grabbing his collar as I pulled sharply before landing a head butt.
Thud
"Kugh—!?"
"Ugh, don’t grab my hand every time you idiot!" I yelled back with the same loudness, feeling a clear sting on my forehead while his became a red mark, making me realize that maybe he was not protecting his head with internal energy as normally warriors should do.
’Was he injured?’
While pulling his shirt, I saw bandages wrapped around his chest, making me notice that he was probably injured, causing me to tighten my right fist before swinging directly at his chest.
I had already caught him off guard once, and now seeing the injury through the cloth, I saw another weakness, and my punch directly landed on his chest.
"Urgh!—thud—"
Alden was visibly thrown back, losing balance as he fell three steps directly onto the floor, hitting his head as he lay down.
I made my way without hesitation towards the second floor, as the second librarian would prohibit any fight on that floor.
’Twig body with fat at wrong places.’
I scoffed, rubbing my shoulder and stretching it as I moved towards the second floor, remembering the softness I felt when punching his chest, clearly bandaged and wounded, yet still showing that lingering fat over a martial arts body, indicating how he just slept all day and did no training at all.
---
"I understand."
Giving an order to the librarian on the second floor was more like a caretaker to assure that books on this floor don’t get damaged.
I made my way with a manual in my hand, which was more like a small map to know the exact location of the sections or drawers.
I made my way directly towards the one for which I had come here today.
While doing so, I could notice how Alden, unlike his haughty nature, was now not coming after me, clearly aware of the rules and maybe already left.
Putting aside my thoughts, I arrived at the end of the third row where, as per memory, I recalled that artifact.
’Huh?’
Arriving there, as I looked towards that place, I found there was no book there.
More specifically, not only was a single book missing, but the whole drawer was empty.
’Where did the book go?’
Thinking, as I found the whole section empty, I turned and went back towards the caretaker.
She was seated there with her muscular body while reading a book.
I arrived and halted there.
"Did you know what happened to the books at the end of the third row? It’s completely empty," I inquired, finding it confusing as instead of just one book, that whole portion was vacant.
Clearly specifying that whoever took it was not aware of the artifact being inside that book.
"Hm? Prince Alden wanted to practice grip strengthening, so he just took all the books to choose one he preferred afterwards."
’!?’
’What?’
I felt my mouth twitch upon hearing the information as I swiftly realized that in this world, there were dimensional drinks on individuals.
So, due to this particular reason, I didn’t serve a book to him, making me swiftly sprint towards the stairs, hoping to have him there.
’Shit, what a luck!’
Arriving, as I looked down from the stairs, only to find Alden was missing with three officials now standing, while looking towards me, visibly emitting coldness.
As I noticed from the body language of those around who were present a few moments ago, that these people were from the Patrol guards who most probably came here after hearing news of two guards being dead.
"Young master Kyle, is it true that you killed both the guards here?" The one at the front inquired, his voice firm.
I could see how all of them nearly already identified me, recognizing me as it was clear that the moment the engagement with Princess Eleriana was declared, the information guilds were already at the move.
They had shared my pictures with all details about me with all the royal hires and families wanting to know details of the fiancé of Princess Aleriana.
’Let’s first deal with this.’
Understanding that I was not going to get my hands on that artifact today, I just made my way down the stairs.
I could see how a few of those who were laughing a few moments ago were visibly taking steps back due to fear, showing at least the effect of my presence.
The snap of my fingers definitely would keep bothersome people away.
"Those who don’t follow my words are destined to die."
Arriving at the man who had a scar on his left eye, I noticed his robe design showed his affiliation with the Royal Guards.
His narrowed gaze seemed to be scrutinizing my strength, finding it hard to believe how I, with no internal energy signatures, was able to kill two guards without any signatures of struggle.
Naturally, given they have proof of two guards dying here and several eyewitnesses, most probably they were going to think the other way around.
These guards in front of me, being at late 3rd Layer, would take my levels far beyond them, mostly at 6th layer.
Given it was the property of those with two levels ahead to be able to suppress their internal energy, even that needed so much focus leading to confusion.
This would create doubt among all the eyewitnesses and the families who they were going to report to, so that they can start doubting the information provided by the Information Guild, which would be my next target.
With a firm voice, I ordered,"Now step aside."

:: Where are you heading now? ::
"To sleep all day," I informed Valeriana as she hovered around my head. Considering the day was completely wasted with nothing in particular achieved, and my marriage being tomorrow, I made my way back to the princess’s palace to get some rest, having been awake for straight two days during my journey to the capital city.
