Extra's Perfect Ending-Chapter 316: Falling down
Egul took a leap off the mountain. He felt that falling was preferable to dying up there. As the wind rushed against his face, he glanced back at the cave opening on the mountainside, expecting the other guy to jump after him. However, after a minute of falling, Egul realized he couldn’t see the other man anywhere.
He shielded himself with ice and began falling closer and closer to the mountain, trying to get a grasp of the rocky side. However, he jumped too far out because of desperation. Now he was feeling the consequence of his recklessness and survival instinct.
He inched closer to the rocky mountain with each swing of his hand. However he also saw a problem, he was approaching the storm below. His hand began swimming in the air, trying to get closer and closer to the mountain.
However, his hands were not long enough and he was out of time. The violent wind pulled him into it. The violent wind carried his body along with its momentum. The wind was so fast and Egul couldn’t help but feel dizzy.
After a while, the wind spit him out of the sky, Egul couldn’t be more lost, falling from cloud level to the ground. He used his mystic power to reinforce himself as much as he could.
-------------
Reeva, the Cardinal, and Nena arrived at the bottom of the mountain. They all looked up to the height of this thing and sighed. Nena who’s carrying Reeva got the work cut out for her. Not only did she need to climb, but she would need to carry him upward.
There better be the most luxurious bath waiting for me at home.
"We’re here, we go up there right?"
"Properly"
Reeva revealed that he had no clue either. The god didn’t tell him exactly where to look and the book only told him that Athan got the scepter from here. The only way to confirm it was to go up.
Cardinal nodded, he felt the urgency of the situation and quickly jumped upward. Nena looked as tired as ever and jumped after him. Their journey to the top was after Egul, mainly because both of them didn’t have three people there to waste their time.
However just before they traveled to reach the storm they spot something. Two people sitting on the cliffside. Cardinal couldn’t ignore them, they were people that looked to be from the empire. Moreover, they looked like they were under-prepared coming up here.
"There’s people..."
Nena said catching the people when she was traveling up. She’s a second too late since The Cardinal had already disappeared to the two people sitting on the cliff. Nena felt a bit annoyed at Sanchez but followed him.
This is likely a trap by Mother...
That’s her thought after seeing that kind of setup. Two people on the cliff side looking not that scared were raising red flags at her. However, she felt like the Cardinal already knew that and didn’t care.
After all, he was very powerful. No matter what tricks the mother played he would just overpower her with raw power. They both arrived at the people and were shocked to see that there was a lack of trap set up.
Reeva who got slung over Nena’s shoulder looked at the people when they arrived on the cliff. His eyes widened when he saw who it was.
"Hilda? Theia?"
"You know them?" Cardinal turned to asked
"Master!" Hilda smiled a bit when she saw Reeva, she stood up and hugged Reeva at lightning speed. Cardinals watch both of them closely to see if there is any trap or had the people have been affected by something
Reeva didn’t know how to act, normally the maid wasn’t this close to him. However, her warm body made him feel a bit at ease.
"Um...."
"Oh, right...." Reeva pushed HIlda off a bit "This is my personal maid and that is Theia Fyniment"
"What are you personal maid doing here? and a noble?" Both Nena and Cardinal looked skeptical at Reeva. First, he said that this Athan guy was very dangerous and led them here. Was that just a lie to get them to retrieve his personal maid? If so this was the most expensive lie ever constructed.
However, after thinking a bit, they couldn’t be sure. Sanchez being in Duranberg was not in Reeva’s planed. If he planned this out from the beginning then he would be the best divinator in the world.
Reeva looked at Hilda, also wanting an explanation. The maid complied and said that she was there to work with the Frost Fang tribe in exchange for their mystic relic. he didn’t see this as a betrayal of the empire because if they kept their word then she would be weakening them.
Then she recounted the encounter with Athan the immortal and the journey they made to the north.
"So I came here to get one on him... I wanted to break whatever he was about to get"
"Good" Cardinal briefly remembers this incident. He too had been familiar with a village massacre in the north since it’s not a low profile event. After that event shook up the northern people and made them more violent toward the empire, all because Athan was seen as empire people.
"So he’s up there..."
Cardinal looked up and saw the storm above.
"Let’s hurry them, Nena grabbed them"
"Wait all three!?" Nena protested how could she carry all three people!?
"Figure it out, we don’t have much time" Cardinals gave her an order and dissipated upward. Nena couldn’t help but feel like the guy had been rather pushy with her task. It’s not like she gossiped about him behind his back or something! Well... maybe t bit but, she didn’t deserve all this!
All four people looked at each other awkwardly. In the end, She decided to have Theia and Reeva on her shoulder and Hilda hugging her from the bag. The increase in eight lowered her down a bit but her 6th circle of human strength was no joke. She quickly followed the cardinal and arrived at the flat surface.
The wind up here almost blew all of them away. Nena felt like she was about to go crazy with all this luggage that she had to carry. Her golden cloth wrapped around both herself and them to not let them get blown away.
Thinking about it, she realized that she should have been doing this from the beginning. She thought it would be wise to save some energy if they were facing her mother. The memory of her last battle with her mother was still fresh in her mind; she had almost died, after all.
"Where do we go from here?"
Nean felt a bit lost since the trom rotated so fast. Sanchez on the other hand felt like this was straightforward. His, index finger pointing upward.
"No, shit Holen"
Nena remarked after Sanchez’s obvious gesture. Reeva felt strange hearing the detective’s name after such a long time. He wondered how the detective was handling the Blood Snow case. If he had known that it was the same person who killed Hilda’s parents, he would have invited him to join the investigation.
"You know him?" Reeva was a bit slow on this, he didn’t really grasp the detective’s fame when interacting with the detective because he always boasted himself as... the best detective...
"You don’t? Everyone knows the guy, the best detective that ever lived... sometimes even better than...."
"Nena," Sanchez said in a low voice, a clear warning "Watch your words"
"OK...."
From his voice, he was not joking around anymore. After shutting the woman up, Sanchez’s finger glowed a light. Right then it travels upward and price through the turbulent storm. He created a hole in the murky cloud, where the sunlight penetrated through.

"Such a disgrace, blocking all those holy lights," Sanchez said, and he grabbed one of the golden cloth pieces. Sanchez smiled "Hold tight"
Then he jumped upward, through the light path he had created. His body moved so fast that in the next moment, Reeva’s vision went from the murky sky with dim light to above the cloud with full sight of the sun.
----------
"It seems like there’s still someone worth my time" The skeleton could see the light piercing through the cloud. However, instead of waiting for that guy to arrive, he simply turned back into the cave. The ball of Athan floated beside him as he walked in the hallway.
He held the Book of Heaven high just before entering the chamber that housed it. Then, the scenery changed to reveal a giant building. He smirked and walked forward, vanishing into the spirit world.

"Go dam it!"
Holen couldn’t help but curse when he failed to climb the unbroken table for a fifth time. They discovered that falling didn’t cause any damage, so they tried to get up from the table.
But the table was too smooth, they kept falling out of it.
