Extra's POV: My Obsessive Villainous Fiancee Is The Game's Final Boss-Chapter 449: Do What You Gotta Do
Ren surged forward, and the world exploded.
The first clash ripped through the air, sending shockwaves in every direction.
The ground beneath them shattered into fragments as the Blurred Man blocked Ren’s flaming fist.
The distortion around him rippled, then reformed, the man laughing even as the blow connected.
"Excellent!" he shouted over the roar of their colliding powers. "Let’s see how much of that fire you can handle!"
He blurred out of view.
Ren barely managed to raise his arms before the counterstrike came.
A knee to the ribs that folded him in half, followed by an open palm that sent him crashing through a wall.
Pain flared, but his body responded instantly. Unfettered Enhancement flared, repairing the damage in real time.
Strength poured into him, not like a sudden surge, but like compounding interest on every wound and every motion.
The Blurred Man materialized again, already swinging. "Faster!"
Ren ducked, the punch grazing the side of his face and splitting the air behind him.
He countered with his own punch, golden light exploding from his fist.
The Blurred Man caught it, grinning even as the flames seared through his blurred fingers.
"Better," he said simply, and then twisted, hurling Ren across the frozen sky.
Ren hit the ground hard enough to leave a crater, but he rose immediately, jumping back into the fray.
He could feel Unfettered Enhancement working overtime within him. It was a different feeling from how it had been before.
This time, it felt like deja vu. Like he was doing something familiar that he had forgotten, and he was getting better with each passing second. He was rapidly adapting to the Blurred Man’s movements.
He vanished, reappearing in front of the Blurred Man, his foot slamming into the ground to create momentum. The world flashed white as he threw a flaming uppercut.
The Blurred Man blocked it, sliding backward, his laughter filling the air. "Yes! That’s it! Remember what I told you! Your power is exponential! Let it stack! Don’t stop!"
Ren didn’t answer. His focus narrowed to a single burning thread of will. He launched himself forward again.
The Blurred Man answered in kind, raining down blows. But with every dodge and deflection, Ren grew.
His Unfettered Enhancement was evolving in real time, learning, copying, and perfecting.
And as it compiled with the Primordial Flame, it became something more.
The deja vu effect of his Divine Gift suddenly began to skyrocket.
Each move he made was layered over the memory of the last, stacking momentum upon memory, skill upon skill.
It was as if countless versions of him from parallel seconds were fighting together, merging into one perfect execution.
The Blurred Man vanished again, his distortion splitting into three afterimages. Each one struck from a different angle, one high, one low, and one directly from the front.
Ren moved like lightning.
He blocked the first with his forearm, caught the second by the wrist, and tore through the third with a flaming fist that collapsed its entire form into light.
The Blurred Man reformed behind him, laughter bubbling. "Now we’re talking!"
He unleashed a flurry of blurred punches, each one hitting hard, but Ren’s body refused to break.
His flames answered in kind, his every move syncing perfectly with the rhythm of destruction.
Lilith’s faint soul energy glowed within him, waiting for him to harness it.
Ren’s thoughts were clear on what he needed to do.
’For her. For our child. For the world we’ll build when this ends.’
He caught the Blurred Man’s arm as the man was swinging, his eyes blazing. "You’re strong," he growled. "But you’re not unkillable."
The Blurred Man grinned, the edges of his face flickering between a hundred versions. "That’s the spirit."
He twisted free and drove a blurred elbow into Ren’s gut, the impact cracking his ribs and sending him flying backward.
Ren hit the ground again, but he didn’t fall this time. He landed on one knee, coughing once.
The cracks in his bones sealed instantly.
The Blurred Man blinked, his distortion flickering in surprise. "You healed that before I hit you."
Ren rose slowly, the golden flame behind his eyes burning brighter. "I told you," he said quietly. "Unfettered means unlimited."
The Blurred Man threw his head back and laughed. "Then show me!"
They met again, faster this time, the air disintegrating with every collision.
Ren’s power skyrocketed, each second multiplying his speed, his strength, and his focus.
The Blurred Man’s body grew even more blurry, and his attacks now came from every direction, layered over one another.
Still, Ren adapted.
Each blow he received turned into knowledge. Each parry recalibrated his body. His Enhancement had reached the point of compounding perfection.
He ducked under a blurred kick, pivoted, and drove his fist into the Blurred Man’s chest. The impact collapsed a section of the world around them.
The Blurred Man staggered back, his distortion flickering violently for the first time. He looked down, and laughed.
"You actually hit me!"
Ren didn’t reply. His golden aura flared, expanding outwards like a living sun.
The Blurred Man’s grin widened. "Good. Good! Don’t stop! Surpass me! End it!"
He blurred again, moving faster than thought. Ren followed, meeting him blow for blow, their fight rising higher and higher into the air.
Every time they clashed, the frozen time around them fractured further.
Minutes passed, or perhaps longer.
And then, something shifted.
Ren’s flames stuttered, then steadied.
The power of the Primordial Flame had fully merged with Unfettered Enhancement. He was no longer adapting. He was transcending.
The Blurred Man lunged one last time, his blurred body collapsing into a single, clear figure.
Ren met him head-on.
Their fists collided, and the resulting explosion tore through the sky.
The Blurred Man flew backward, smoke rising from the hole burned through his chest.
He laughed softly, even as his body began to unravel. "Perfect," he whispered. "You did it."
Ren didn’t stop. His body moved on instinct, drawing from Lilith’s soul energy within him.
The two colors fused again, blue and gold, spiraling into a single point of white light in his palm.
The ultimate attack. The one meant for Yggdrasil.
He aimed it at the Blurred Man, who raised his head, smiling through the distortion. "Go on, then," he said. "Become the end I made you to be."
Ren’s hand trembled. Then he whispered, "Thank you."
The sphere erupted.
The roar of the attack filled the air, before dimming a few seconds later.
The Blurred Man vanished in the blaze, his laughter echoing faintly until even that was gone.
And then...
Time resumed. Just in time for them to see a wave of energy sweep across the world.
Ren’s eyes widened in shock as the mountains around him dissolved and the seas rose.
Everything around him simply faded to dust, the whole of reality folding inwards, before collapsing into pure light.
Ren floated in the center of it.
When the light faded, there was nothing.
No Carthage. No Arondale mountains. No sky. No ground. No world.
Only stars.
Ren drifted, weightless, his golden aura dimming to a faint shimmer.
And then, a voice reached his ears.
"Hello, Ren."
