Extra's Re-awakening: System Errors Made Me Too OP-Chapter 50: The 14th Soul-Squad
His eyes met with the rugged members of the 14th Soul-Squad, every inch of the building was noisy but there were two individuals who stood out as the star of drama. "You bastard! You wanna go!?" A voice yelled.
"Bring it on you bastard!" Another voice exclaimed.
"....." Rai stood speechless, his eyes locking onto two individuals who were gripping each other by their clothes, as if on the verge of a fight.
The man on the left was Sosuke Ken, and the one on the right was Aiden Matsui. Both were hot-headed members of the 14th Soul-Squad. They wore black-collared robes with the number "14" printed on the back, and it seemed to be the standard uniform for everyone in the guild.
"Hm?" Ken muttered under his breath as his eyes caught sight of Rai standing at the doorway, utterly confused.
"Who the hell are you?" He said, stepping forward as if to question him.
"....." Rai remained silent, his expectations of one of the renowned Soul-Squads dropping sharply after seeing, with his own eyes, the two fools bickering right in front of him.
"Hey! Don’t zone out me you bastard!" Ken changed his fighting partner and threw one of his shoes at Rai. It struck his forehead and sent him sprawling to the ground.
"O-oww!!!" He let out a sharp yell, wincing from the sudden pain.
He quickly sprang to his feet, clenching his fists as he glared down at him. "Hey! What’s the big idea!?"
"You don’t zone out on someone who is trying to question you! Are you looking for a death wish!" Ken exclaimed in response.
"Is that how you treat visitors?!" Ren lamented.
"Can’t both of you just!-" Aiden exclaimed attempting to join the argument but was quickly shut down by both Rai and Ken.
"Shut up!" Both Rai and Ken lunged at Aiden at the same time.
"What’s with all the damn noise!? Can’t a man take a shit in peace!?" A loud and intimidating voice boomed throughout the building, and instantly, everything went silent as a huge, muscular figure stormed down the stairs with purpose.
The man had smooth, silky black hair that fell neatly around his face and piercing black eyes that scanned everything in his path.
His body was perfectly toned and muscular, each movement showing strength and control. He wore only a pair of black trousers, leaving his broad chest exposed, which added to his intimidating presence.
"Master! It was Aiden that started it!" Ken said, trying to pin the blame on Aiden.
"I did not! He was the one who started it!" Aiden retaliated.
"Shut up! Why must you damn idiots keep interrupting my shit every single time!?" The large man shouted, and a powerful burst of Soul-Energy surged from his body, sending the two of them flying off their feet.
"Shit.." Rai muttered softly, stepping back with a mix of fear and confusion.
’These people are crazy! This large shirtless man is the captain of the 14 Soul-Squad!?’ He said d in his thoughts, even in the path of the ascension, the captain of the 14th Soul-Squad wasn’t mentioned till later in the series, so Rai never knew his name.
"Hm?" The captain of the 14th Soul-Squad spoke, his gaze locking onto Rai’s.
"Who the hell are you?" He also stepped forward to question Rai.
"U-uh.." Rai stammered.
"Rai Voltia." A familiar voice called out, making Rai turn around. When he faced the source, he saw Elene standing there before him.
"Elene?" He said.
"Hm, you think you escaped even after the incident with the orange gate, think again!" She replied with a giggle.
"He’s also the commoner who managed to get an outstanding score in the exams." Another voice called out from behind Rai, one that sounded strangely familiar to him. His eyebrows rose in surprise, and he slowly turned around, eyes widening as he tried to make out the person that had spoken.
"You are.." He stuttered in disbelief.
"I believe we met before in the first phase of the Soul-Hunter’s examination under unfavorable circumstances, I am Kaira Daemar But seeing as we are now squad mates, you can call me Kaira." The voice revealed herself to be the daughter of the head commander of the fourteen Soul-Squads.
As she introduced herself, every member of the Fourteenth Soul-Squad fell silent. They couldn’t believe it, the daughter of the head commander, an A-rank Soul-Hunter who activated the Knight’s Soul-Core of all people, had joined their squad?
"Kaira!?" Rai shouted out with shock, what the living hell was she doing in a place like this? He didn’t need to know her evaluation results, her stats and achievements in the first phase alone proved it.
If any squad was supposed to fight for her, it would have been one of the First through the Fifth Soul-Squads. So what the actual hell was she doing here?
"Wait what?" Ken rose to his feet the moment he heard Rai’s name. "You’re Rai Voltia? The Unidentified Soul-Hunter that’s got the fourteen Soul-Squads concerned?"
"Yeah."
"HAHAHA!" Ken couldn’t help himself and he burst out laughing. "Those nobility bastards and their self-proclaimed principles. Now because of that, they missed out on acquiring such a rare Soul-Hunter. HAHAHA!"
"Ahem, Ken." Aiden cleared his throat and slowly brought his fist to his mouth, silently reminding Ken that two nobles from one of the six great families were present.
Ken turned around and immediately met the piercing gazes of both Kaira and Elene. "Oh... Hehehe, my bad."
"But still, I’m certain that Kaira was offered a spot in one of the top five Soul-Squads in the association. To think it’s the fourteenth Soul-Squad..." Rai whispered, unable to believe that this was where she had been assigned.
"Your shocked too right? Considering it was the captain that selected her." Aiden said as he dusted his clothes as he was still on the ground.
"Wait wait wait, are you saying her score was not favourable?" Rai asked to be certain.
"Don’t be ridiculous Rai Voltia, I got a perfect 100 on the dot." Kaira replied with the pride she harbored as one of this year’s top new recruit.
"As expected of the head commander’s daughter." Aiden said getting up to his feet. "Damn...you don’t have to be so rough captain." Aiden said, referring to his captain — Kazuki Matasuragi.
"Eh? Shut it you damn fool." Kazuki sighed, feeling mentally drained from dealing with the same group of people day after day..
"In all honesty I am as surprised as you all, especially since she was the one who asked to join us." He explained how someone of such high status had ended up joining a group mostly made up of commoners.
"Wait what!?" Rai exclaimed.
