"A better question is, what the hell are you doing? Why are you attacking your teammate?" Raiβs question infuriated him, what pissed him off the most was his development, it made him feel like he didnβt need the help of his team or him most especially. So the thought of someone who was once average compared to him overtaking his power in a flash came as a huge blow to him.
"Fight me, Rai Voltia." He said with a deep voice, his rage and swirling feeling of inferiority complex taking over him.
"Huh? What was that? Are you out of your mind?" Rai asked, completely dumbfounded by his request. A fight during a very important mission? It sounded completely absurd, but Xander could careless. All he cared about now was who was stronger because in order to remain at the top and lead his team to victory, he couldnβt let someone who was once below him surpass him.
"If you wonβt come to me.." As he uttered, he stretched his right palm outwards and built up a dark rotating ball of energy above it. "I simply have to come to you!" He darted forward without warning, aiming the [Prominence Wave] at Rai hastily.
"Tsk!" With a slight grunt, Rai crouched to his knees, barely dodging the dark ball of energy. He immediately grabbed Xanderβs hand before proceeding to pivoting his feet towards his left and hurling Xander in the direction he faced.
"You donβt have to do this Xander!"
As Xander crashed into the ground, the ball of energy exploded, eradicating the ground beneath his feet even more and giving rise to a cloud of dust.
As the dust died down, Xander was found standing on his feet, his face filled with anger as Rai counted him almost effortlessly.
"You countered my Prominence Wave without any effort? I underestimated you, Rai Voltia. Iβm not holding back anymore." As he said, his eyes changed completely, radiating a purple glow as he stretched his right hand forward.
"Awaken." With a simple command, trails of shadows arose from the ground right in front of him. In a moments notice, those trails all rushed together and formed a shadow figure which left Rentaro completely stunned.
"Awaken, Shadow general Malphas!" As he exclaimed, the shadow figure which assumed the body mass, appearance and abilities of the Primordial Demon General he defeated opened itβs eyes which glowed a radiant white color.
"W-what? Thereβs no mistake... Thatβs Malphas." Rentaro concluded, unable to forget the power of the demon general who nearly killed them.
Unknown to them, when the Primordial Shadow Soul-Beast took over Mizukoβs body, it utilized one of itβs abilities [Shadow Sealing] to trap the shadow and essence the dead general and convert him into one of his soldiers.

"Not good!"
With a powerful exhale, the shadow soldier released a blinding wall of flame towards him.
The wall flames rushed towards him like a ferocious predator, aiming to burn him alive and leave no trace of him.
[Ability (Limit Break: Electric Burst Evolved) has been activated]
A rapid surge of electricity coursed through Raiβs body, his hair spiked up due to the electric burden that was placed on his body, his physical abilities had far surpassed what it used to be.
With a great speed, he tore right through the wall of flame, using the electricity surrounding his body to protect him from the fire as he tore through it.
The moment he came through the flames, the Shadow general Malphas was above him, aiming his axe down at his head.
"You might be the shadow of Malphas, but youβre nothing compared to the power the real Malphas had." As he declared, he dodged the axe at the last minute before aiming an [Electric Burst] at his chest and eradicating his shadow.
"You bastard!" Xander exclaimed, dashing forward at him swiftly.
"Enough!" Without warning, Rai unleashed the [Limit Break Electric Burst Evolved] from his body, resulting in a blinding surge of electrical energy exploded from his body, lighting up the entire area.
The power cascaded outward in a jagged wave, snapping through the air like a furious lightning strike. It was a raw, uncontained release, a force that could burn through anything in its way.
The ground itself trembled as the energy crackled and roared, racing toward Mizuko, the heat of it rising in the air, ready to devastate.
Xanderβs eyes gleamed with terror but after analyzing the situation, he raised his hand, summoning a [Rotating Sphere].
From his palm, a vortex of energy began to take shape, spinning rapidly, creating a magnetic pull that seemed to distort the very air.
The sphereβs rotation was slow at first, elegant, but the power within it grew exponentially, its edges crackling with a force that seemed to bend reality itself.
"Primordial Soul-Technique: Shadow Rotating Sphere!"
The violent energy that raced towards him collided with the [Primordial Rotating Sphere], the two techniques meeting in an explosion of energy.
The air seemed to vibrate with the intensity of the clash as Raiβs lightning collided with the spinning vortex. For a moment, time itself seemed to pause, the sheer magnitude of the two forces struggling to dominate one another filling the space.
Xanderβs [Rotating Sphere] flared and arced, trying to pierce through the wall of electricity, but Raiβs technique only absorbed the sphere, bending the energy like a calm lake receiving a raindrop.
Xander gritted his teeth. He could feel the drain as his own energy was swallowed, each concentration of his power fading into the electricity.
His feet dug into the ground, his body tense as he focused, refusing to let his power fizzle out. But Rai was not just defending, he was turning his attack against him.
The wall of electricity began to contract, narrowing in on Xander, pulling the very sphere he had unleashed into itself, and with a sudden, almost imperceptible motion, the wall of electricity exploded outward, a storm of kinetic energy that slammed into Xander with a force that felt like a thousand blows at once.
He was thrown backward, his body slammed into the ground with bone-crushing force, the wind knocked from his lungs.
The air filled with the remnants of his own ability, now twisted and redirected. His body trembled, not just from the impact, but from the feeling of defeat that crept into his chest.
Rai approached him slowly, his expression still calm, his body shivering a bit as the remnants of his [Limit Break Electric Burst Evolved] dissolved into the air.
"How? How!?" Xander exclaimed furiously, he demanded to know how he had defeated even the shadow of Malphas without breaking a sweat.
"Thereβs power in destruction Rai, as you were blessed with a fabulous Soul-Type you failed to understand that with that power comes a necessary requirement."
He said softly, his voice as cold and as precise as the technique he unleashed. "True strength lies in control, you let that power control you and that is why you lost." He added.
Xander was a bit battered but still conscious, slowly he pushed himself up, his eyes locked on Rai. The battle wasnβt over, but he knewβhis power alone wasnβt enough to defeat the current Rai. The fight, it seemed, was just beginning.
"Incoming." Rai said, looking up to his left as a man descended swiftly from the sky and crashed into the ground.
Both boys were unfazed by the shockwaves created from whatever landed but glanced on at their current assailant.
"S- Selena!" A man exclaimed, rushing towards their team leader who Rai had slain on the ground. The other man followed behind swiftly, checking on the condition of their team leader.
"Wait... If heβs here, does that mean that.." Xander stammered in disbelief.
"I-it canβt be.."
