Extra's Strategy: Cultivate Protagonists, Become Invincible-Chapter 184: A Familiar Face
Chapter 184: A Familiar Face
"So what’s my way forward? Do I give up on the Martial path entirely?"
Elder Kong Ye laughed. "Why would you have to go that far? Just experiment with a bunch of different manuals and gather a set of moves for all parts of your body!
"The goal in the Physique Transformation realm is to hone your body well enough to survive the Physique Transformation realm. Who says the honing has to be done with a single martial art?"
Han Xuhan jumped to his feet in excitement. The situation was far better than he had anticipated. Could this even be called an obstacle? It was just a minor inconvenience!
Xuanyuan Zhou, however, said something that dragged his roaring spirit back to harsh reality.
"But Elder Ye, martial Brother Xuhan has to pass the sect’s deadline by the end of the week. There are requirements for outer court disciples in terms of cultivation speed and quality that he cannot afford to fail."
Cold sweat broke out on Han Xuhan’s forehead. Indeed, if he now spent his days looking for compatible martial moves from manual to manual, how would he have the time to break through to the second phase of the Physique Transformation realm?
Kong Ye didn’t seem as concerned about it. He waved a hand and said, "I’ll talk to the Sect Master about it. He can surely make an exception when the situation itself is so exceptional!"
Profusely thanking the Elder for his kindness, Han Xuhan and Xuanyuan Zhou returned to the Salted Fish Mountain Peak.
"For now, stick to practicing the effective parts of your manual and aim for the breakthrough. We can’t be sure if Elder Ye can convince the Sect Master. Better safe than sorry," Xuanyuan Zhou said before they parted ways.
"Got it. By the way, there’s another law lecture scheduled for the evening. Don’t forget about it, Martial Sister. And please warn me in advance if you’re going to pull off some unusual tricks again!"
Xuanyuan Zhou rolled her eyes, acting as if she hadn’t veered off script every other time they had held a lecture. Although none of her antics ever became as frightening as the stunt she had pulled during the first law lecture, Han Xuhan always felt like she was just one decision away from setting off something big again.
After returning to his hut, he discovered both of his minions hard at work, cultivating the techniques he had assigned to them.
Zhanxian has just begun practicing according to the Spiritual Bone Art manual, methodically progressing towards the peak of the first layer. The crystalline blue armor of qi over his fingers was almost close to completion.
Tun Shi Tian was still busy fine-tuning his artificial meridians, unable to rely on Zhanxian’s experience in this matter. Unlike Zhanxian, his meridians ran inside his bones, making the channels much broader and simpler in structure.
However, his speed of progress was formidable. Within a day or two, he would easily be able to reach the second layer of the Artificial Meridian Creation technique and start practicing the Spiritual Bone Art.
Han Xuhan also had his own personal project—his third minion. Finding a real rattlesnake skeleton model in the mountains wasn’t easy. Ever since he had commissioned the task in the Task Administration Pavilion, his fellow disciples kept trying to scam him with skeletons of other snakes.
However, it wasn’t as if he had no other Mystic Arts to practice. He was being taught the language of laws by both Xuanyuan Zhou and Qian Yun. Their approaches differed vastly, giving him two different outlooks on the domain.
Xuanyuan Zhou kept harping about the overarching principles of Force-type Law Cultivation whereas Qian Yun stayed grounded to the basics, helping him master the Cause and Effect Type Laws.
His foundation tower was also slowly being cleaned with Qian Yun’s help. The chaotic mixture of the letters of all five types of laws would only harm his potential as a law cultivator. Under Qian Yun’s guidance, Han Xuhan had managed to detect and expel quite a few letters belonging to the Elemental, Sentient Contract, and the Natural Laws domain.
"Because you were forcibly made a law cultivator, the state of the letters inside your foundation tower is bound to be anomalous and uncontrolled. Once you’re done with the cleansing procedure, you will have to start as other regular Alphabet Acolytes.
"Just like any other Mystic Art, you have to confine all the letters into one specific part of the tower and build upwards from there."
Recalling the instructions, Han Xuhan entered his spiritual world and began to scout the walls of the tower to memorize the structure of some of the letters. He would later display what he had memorized to Qian Yun in the artificial realm of laws, and learn whether he could retain the letter or if he had to expel it.
While he was deep in meditation, someone suddenly knocked on the door loudly, disturbing the peace. The face that greeted him when he opened the door was a bit unexpected.
"Senior Sister Qing Hua! It’s been a while!"
The slightly older woman had a frosty look on her face as she scanned him up and down. But then she pushed him aside and invaded the hut without permission, heading straight for the kitchen.
Han Xuhan watched in stunned silence as she started brewing tea on the stove, her face gloomier than a snowy winter.
"...Oi Zhanxian, stop sitting on your ass and go handle the tea for Senior Sister!" Han Xuhan barked at his eldest minion after breaking out of his daze. Then he put on his best smile and tried to persuade her to come out of the kitchen and talk.
"What’s the matter, Senior Sister? Is there anything you need help with? Please don’t hesitate to ask! I, your junior brother-"
Qing Hua raised a hand in the air in a gesture to shut him up. Then, after a long sigh, she gave an evasive answer.
"What I’m worried over is not something you can help in, junior brother. Besides, I came to visit you over a different matter entirely."
