"Today's speech was a success, congratulations to both of you for setting the stage for victory in advance." After the speech, Perfikot invited Kallen and the Northern Territory's Prime Minister candidate according to the plan and spoke politely to them.

Since it was a public setting, Kallen did not show familiarity with Perfikot, merely accepting her polite remarks cordially.

The Prime Minister candidate of the Northern Territory, however, showed considerable respect toward Perfikot without appearing obsequious, maintaining a perfect balance.

This earned Perfikot high praise for him, and she couldn't help but compliment, "Mr. Wellington, this is our first meeting, right? Your speech was impressive, and it's clear that you must be a diligent civil servant. I believe if you become the Empire's Prime Minister, it would be a blessing for the citizens of the Empire."

"Count, you overpraise me. I only have some insignificant experience. Compared to a genius like you who built the entire Northern Territory from scratch in three years, I'm far behind. If I do get elected, I hope to have your support, Count." At this point, Wellington was not yet Prime Minister, so he remained humble before Perfikot.

Perfikot didn't mind this, simply waving her hand and exchanging further pleasantries before extending an invitation, "I've prepared a little wine at the Lord's Manor, please do me the honor of attending."

Faced with the invitation from the Lord of the North, neither Wellington nor Kallen had any reason to refuse.

So, the three of them took Perfikot's carriage and returned to the Lord's Manor together.

On the way, Perfikot inquired how the two traveled, and upon learning they both usually took public carriages, Perfikot immediately offered to give each a steam vehicle for transportation.

This undoubtedly had traits of bribery, but for the Lord of the North, no one dared to bother Perfikot with such matters, let alone make an issue out of it.

Since this was a minor matter, Perfikot could easily dismiss it with a simple explanation that the vehicles were temporarily loaned and still belonged to the Lord's Manor.

Thus, after a courteous refusal, both Wellington and Kallen accepted. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Using public carriages was, of course, to show a friendly and frugal approach, but in the Northern Territory's weather, sitting in a public carriage could be hard to endure, not as comfortable as the steam vehicle that Perfikot offered.

Additionally, the current natural environment in the North is challenging for horses, so public carriages mainly operate within the heating zones of the urban areas and only when the weather is good.

Once the weather turns severe, these carriages have to rest.

It is for this reason that the Chernobyl City Government is considering replacing all public carriages with steam vehicles, to establish a relatively stable public transport system.

This plan has already been submitted for approval to Perfikot, who has no objections. Establishing a public transport system is indeed a good idea and beneficial for urban development.

However, steam vehicles are still too inefficient; steam buses would be a better choice.

But considering the various problems faced when steam buses first emerged in the original world, Perfikot felt it necessary to reconsider.

Perhaps introducing tramways could be an option? Perfikot currently has no particularly good idea, so this matter is temporarily set aside, with only the application for additional steam vehicles approved as public transportation tools.

After all, her hesitation does not mean that improvements in public transport should not be pursued.

Moreover, the replacement of carriages by automobiles is an inevitable trend; steam power is superior to animal power in every respect, especially in this era.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please, these are tough times, and I have nothing substantial to offer. But recently, a doe was delivered, which should be quite good. Please make sure to taste it; my chef's venison stew is incredibly fragrant!" Perfikot graciously entertained, then led them to the dining room.

Even though Perfikot mentioned that the simple reception wasn't much, Wellington and Kallen found themselves savoring a very tasty and abundant array of dishes.

Though meats were indeed as Perfikot mentioned, relatively scarce, consisting of only fresh venison and a small amount of salted and smoked meats, the variety of vegetables and fruits was not lacking, quite the opposite, it was very plentiful.

This piqued Wellington's curiosity, whereas Kallen, who knew these were products of the Lord's Manor greenhouse, still had to maintain a face of disdain for aristocratic extravagance.

Perfikot just gave a brief explanation and then chatted casually with the two, as if she was merely inviting them for a casual meal.

However, after the two had almost finished eating, Perfikot changed the subject, bringing up the real key issue of the day: "I believe both of you are aware of what happened in Langton. Back then, I and the former president of the Alchemy Association, Sanderion, took action together, yet still seemed powerless against the Divine, highlighting the threat of the Evil God Sect!

Although the Northern Territory, with the Church's aid, remains stable for now, the Empire's many colonies are not as peaceful and serene. This time, Eldest Princess Annie has gone to suppress the colonies, largely to clear the Evil God Sect in those areas.

Both of you have the highest possibility of being elected in this Prime Minister election, and if successful, I hope you will contribute significantly in this regard, to maintain social stability in the Empire and aid in the continuation of human development."

This was Perfikot's primary concern. While the Northern Territory was under her control, she was confident it wouldn't fall into chaos, but she couldn't guarantee the same for other parts of the Empire.

In Langton, even with the power left by the Church, the situation deteriorated to such an extent; the Church initially wanted to establish a Kingdom of God, but now it's a complete mess.

It's conceivable what the Empire's other colonies might be like.

Even though the messages from Eldest Princess Annie reported that the situation in the colonies wasn't as dire as feared, she quickly stabilized the local situation to bring it back under the Empire's rule.

Yet a fundamental issue remains unaddressed: the four Divine Grace Knights out of the two regiments Perfikot sent had already been reduced in number.

As for Eldest Princess Annie's troops and the Empire's local military in the colonies? Their losses hadn't even been reported, but the actual situation was imagineable.

If this issue isn't taken seriously now, when the Evil God Sect establishes a foothold in the old world, the Empire will face great difficulty in resisting.

Especially concerning the significant infiltration of the Evil God Sect in major colonies, which must be thoroughly investigated. Previously, even the North was compromised, and Perfikot did not believe other colonies had the capacity to resist.
