Extreme Cold Era: Shelter Don't Keep Waste-Chapter 824 - 53
When Ellie came to find Perfikot, she had no idea what Perfikot was up to.
So when she stepped into the Alchemy Workshop where Perfikot was, and saw the vast number of Alchemy Puppets on the assembly line, her first reaction was to ask Perfikot what this was.
"Alchemy Puppet production line. I'm using it to produce automated Alchemy Puppets," Perfikot explained and casually activated one Alchemy Puppet. It stood up by itself and began assembling the finished components, quickly piecing together a new Alchemy Puppet and completing the activation.
Looking at the two Alchemy Puppets standing in front of her, there was a sense of fear, as if they were something incredibly terrifying.
But she didn't know where this fear came from, after all, the two Alchemy Puppets looked entirely harmless. With her strength, she could easily dismantle these two figures, if not crush a whole bunch with a lift of her hand.
Ellie didn't voice this concern to Perfikot, but if she had asked Perfikot, perhaps she could have understood the answer to this question.
What she feared was not these two figures, but the change brought about by their ability to replicate.
The feeling was like humans from the original world suddenly seeing a robot autonomously producing another robot, heralding a revolution.
"What can these Alchemy Puppets do? They look dumb and silly, and they don't seem strong at all, appearing even weaker than ordinary people." Ellie scrutinized the two Alchemy Puppets and gave a rather low evaluation.
Perfikot nodded and didn't refute Ellie's assessment.
She simply introduced, "Everything humans can do, they can do. Moreover, they can do it just as well as humans, while functioning continuously for twenty-four hours. As long as they are fueled and their components maintained, they will keep operating."
Hearing Perfikot say this, Ellie showed a surprised expression and immediately said, "So, they can replace humans at work?"
"Yes, they can indeed replace humans at work, and even on the battlefield," Perfikot deliberately emphasized, wanting to see what reaction Ellie would have in such a situation.
Ellie's reaction was rather unexpectedly calm for Perfikot, as she merely circled inquisitively around the two newly made Alchemy Puppets.
However, when Perfikot noticed that Ellie's eyes showed just ordinary curiosity without any other emotion, she thought perhaps this pink-haired woman didn't comprehend the greatness of her technology.
Just as Perfikot was about to explain, Ellie suddenly burst out, "The Wisdom God also made similar puppets, though simpler. Those puppets didn't have such complex internal structures and were driven by wind-up mechanisms; you had to wind them up from the back for them to move.
The temple of the Wisdom God was full of such puppets. It seemed like he used these puppets to replace Divine Attendants and Subordinate Gods."
"Using puppets to replace Divine Attendants and Subordinate Gods? Are you saying the Wisdom God created puppets equivalent to Subordinate Gods?" Perfikot keenly caught onto a critical piece of information from Ellie's words.
Ellie didn't quite understand why Perfikot focused on this, but nodded and said, "Yes! All of the Wisdom God's Subordinate Gods were various puppets, but after the Wisdom God fell, these puppets all broke down."
When Ellie mentioned these puppets, there was an expression of regret on her face, clearly showing her interest in them.
"Do you know how these puppets were made?" Perfikot was also interested, though her interest seemed very different from Ellie's.
Faced with Perfikot's question, Ellie shook her head and said, "I don't know. That was the secret of the Wisdom God. I haven't been to the Wisdom God's temple much, and I've only seen those puppets once or twice. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
But I remember they seemed to be made of stone! Below the temple of the Wisdom God was a huge quarry and carving factory. The stones were carved into shapes and then made into moving puppets."
Ellie recalled seriously, remembering only that much.
"Stone, huh? Such a straightforward and somewhat boring technology." Upon hearing that those puppets were made of stone, Perfikot instantly lost interest.
This was a technology from traditional alchemy used to make golems, something Perfikot was familiar with.
Although she couldn't create puppets on the level of divine beings, making a stone puppet move wasn't particularly difficult, even if driven by wind-up mechanisms.
"Eh? Is this technology simple?" Ellie showed a puzzled expression.
She didn't understand alchemy, but in her view, the Wisdom God should have been a very skilled Alchemist. Why was Perfikot, as an Alchemist, dismissive of his technology?
"This is traditional golem technology. Although divine beings might have some exquisite methods, the golem itself doesn't hold much technical content or difficulty. If I were to do it, I couldn't create a divine-level golem, but a Demigod Golem wouldn't stump me." Perfikot shook her head; although there was no contempt or arrogance in her words, her strong confidence was undoubtedly evident.
"Then you are very impressive! Even among the gods, the alchemy of the Wisdom God was very advanced technology, not to be underestimated by any deity!" Ellie sincerely praised Perfikot.
What Ellie didn't know was that Perfikot's right eye once housed the former Wisdom God, and Perfikot had acquired a vast amount of alchemical knowledge from her, differing only from her by the absence of divinity.
"The divine have been away from this world for too long. They have underestimated humans for too long. Thousands of years may mean little to gods, but for humans, it's enough to evolve from primitive monkeys to today's powerful civilizations capable of reaching the heavens and the earth." Perfikot felt proud of human civilization's development.
After all, she came from a world without gods, where human civilization flourished without mythical interferences.
Ellie only nodded at this, not saying much more.
"Don't you have anything to do? Just wandering around every day?" Perfikot looked at Ellie, who was glancing around the Alchemy Workshop, and suddenly asked.
"I have things to do, yes, and what I have to do is remind humans to prepare for the gods." Ellie explained with a cheerful smile, her face warm and sincere, while her eyes showed seriousness: "Since you are the leader of humanity, naturally, I'm sticking with you!"
