Fairy Tail Destiny-Chapter 43: Ch : Casino Chronicles
Chapter 43: Ch 43 : Casino Chronicles
Sunlight poured over the beaches of Akane Resort, bringing the warmth of summer to the kingdom's most popular seaside tourist destination.
The gentle sea breeze, carrying the scent of the ocean, blended with the rhythmic crashing of waves, as if nature itself was performing a beautiful melody.
Noel stood barefoot at the shoreline, wearing only a purple jacket and swimming trunks.
The waves lapped at his ankles, while the sea breeze tousled his hair.
He appeared utterly relaxed, exuding an air of leisure.
As the playful wind blew strands of his hair into his face, he casually brushed them aside with his hand.
Watching Natsu and the others playing in the water, a faint smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
"Noel," a voice called from behind him, prompting him to turn around.
The speaker was none other than the Fairy Queen, Erza.

Dressed in a black bikini that accentuated her well-defined curves, Erza looked quite different from her usual armored self.
The fierce warrior aura she typically carried was softened by a newfound elegance and femininity.
She walked a few steps forward to stand beside Noel, gazing out at their friends playing in the sea.
After a moment, she suddenly spoke. "Noel, do you remember the first time we met?"
Noel was slightly taken aback before a smile crossed his face.
"Our first meeting? Do you mean the first time I saw you, or the first time we both saw each other? If it's the former, then the first time I laid eyes on you, you were in quite a sorry state—like a shipwreck survivor, washed up on the shore in tattered clothes."
Hearing Noel's words, Erza instantly recalled her own bedraggled appearance back then.
A faint blush crept onto her cheeks. "Not that. I mean when I first woke up the next day."
"Is that so? I don't remember anything particularly special about that," Noel said after thinking for a moment.
"Mm," Erza nodded.
Seeing the puzzled look on Noel's face, a soft smile naturally formed on her lips.
In her heart, she thought to herself, (Maybe to you, that meeting wasn't anything special. But to me, I've never been able to forget it. Noel, if I hadn't met you that day, perhaps I would have remained the same forever...)
--------------
Evening, at the hotel.
"Come on, come on, Noel! Let's go to the entertainment center and win every game together!" Natsu and Gray each grabbed one of Noel's hands, pulling him along as they made their way toward the entertainment center.
"But... I don't know how to play," Noel said, his face filled with discomfort and embarrassment.
He had never set foot in places like these before.
Aside from a few simple games, he was completely clueless about most of the rules.
If he went there, he'd probably just end up giving money to the casino.
"It's fine, it's fine," Gray reassured him, patting Noel's shoulder.
"We're just playing for fun. At worst, you can just exchange for the smallest chips and take it easy. Leave the mission of conquering all the games to me."
"Nonsense! That should be my job!"
"No way! With your terrible skills, you think you can conquer all the games? Obviously, I'm the one who should do it!"
"What did you say?!"
As Gray and Natsu bickered yet again, Noel sighed unconsciously, debating whether he should just return to his room and sleep instead.
His eyes absentmindedly scanned the surroundings, and something caught his attention—a small object lying between a pillar and a potted plant in the hotel.
(What's that?)
Taking a few steps forward, he bent down and picked it up.
It was a large, coin-like object—a casino chip from the entertainment center.
Although it was only the lowest denomination, worth 100.
(Oh well, since I found a chip, I might as well play a round for fun. But with only one chip, I should go for something simple and classic.)
Noel rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then, ignoring the still-arguing Gray and Natsu, walked straight into the entertainment center.
---------------
The flashing lights and jingling sounds of the slot machines quickly caught Noel's attention.
Choosing one at random, he casually tossed his chip into the coin slot.
A moment later, Noel frowned and waved over a casino staff member to ask about something that had been bothering him.
"Your machines... why is it that every time I play, the results are always three-digit numbers? Three-digit numbers in a set? Especially three sevens, they keep appearing the most. Is the machine broken?"
"..."
The casino staff member who had been called over was completely at a loss for words. Or rather, in a situation like this, what could he even say?
"Forget it. If it's a mechanical failure, just return my chip. I'll go play something else," Noel said, shaking his head.
He took a chip from the staff member and decisively turned away from the slot machines.
Half an hour later
At the blackjack table, a dealer sat across from Noel.
However, at this moment, the dealer's face was covered in beads of sweat, his professional smile completely frozen.
In front of Noel was a massive pile of chips, and upon closer inspection, aside from a single small-denomination chip, the rest were all of the highest value.
Thirty-one rounds had been played.
Except for one tie when the dealer had also hit 21, Noel had won every single game.
He never once asked for an extra card.
Every round, if the dealer's hand was below 16, they would always draw cards until they busted.
If the dealer's hand was above 16 and they didn't draw, Noel's hand would always be slightly higher.
At last, the dealer—drenched in sweat—felt a moment of relief, having drawn a strong hand: a total of 20.
Meanwhile, Noel's hand showed a 9 and a 7.
Noel glanced at his cards indifferently, then, without hesitation, laid them flat for everyone to see.
For the first time, he calmly declared:
"Hit me."
An Ace.
"Hit me."
Another Ace.
"Hit me."
Yet another Ace.
At this point, Noel's hand totaled 20, already a tie with the dealer.
However, his expression remained unchanged.
"Hit me."
A 16. Four consecutive cards, perfectly beating the dealer's 20.
The surrounding gamblers were completely stunned by this bizarre phenomenon.
"I didn't bust?" Noel's tone carried a hint of disappointment.
He scratched his cheek while glancing at the massive pile of chips in front of him.
Finally, he picked up only the single chip he had started with and pushed the rest back to the dealer.
"Forget it, you guys can have it back."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving behind a crowd of gamblers still frozen in shock and a dealer whose spirit had been utterly crushed.
