Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 112: Love in rain
YIREN’S POV
"Argh, sleep, Yiren, sleep!" I mutter under my breath, tossing and turning in the bed. I glance at the clock. It’s about to hit 3 AM, and here I am, wide awake, restless as ever. Sleep seems like a distant memory, something I can’t reach no matter how hard I try. It’s not just me—Bear is just as restless, pawing at the window, whining softly. Looks like we’re both missing something—missing the warmth of home, or more precisely, a person.
There’s something about Jun’s sunshine persona that’s just... magnetic. Despite all our stupid, silly jokes and endless banter, at the end of the day, he’ll scoop me up in his arms and make me forget all the tension of the day. It’s addicting. I don’t even remember the last time I used a single sleeping pill since I moved in with him. My restless nights are gone. I actually wake up feeling fresh now.
I sigh deeply, pulling Bear closer into my arms, wrapping us both tightly in the blanket. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Kai and Ning are asleep in the bedroom, and here I am, curled up on the couch for the night. Kai volunteered to sleep on the couch, but it’s my invasion of their space. Plus, he needs the rest, so I stubbornly hold my ground.
The rain taps gently against the window, its steady rhythm almost soothing, but my thoughts are anything but calm. I remember Jun coming here earlier to meet me, but I refused. How could I not? I was a crying mess, unable to face him when all my thoughts were consumed by him.
But ever the considerate Jun, he didn’t leave empty-handed. He dropped off my pillow, blanket, toothbrush, and even the three-night care products I use before bed. And, of course, my rugged t-shirt with holes in it—my go-to for pajamas, and apparently, Jun’s favorite too. I still can’t forget the way he stares when I wear it. And those fluffy puppy slippers—my new obsession.
It didn’t go unnoticed that he smartly gave me just enough to survive the night. He left a message without saying a word: Tomorrow, you’ll be back.
I couldn’t help but smile at the thought. It’s so fucking adorable.
And... scary.
I need control over my emotions, but I feel myself slipping deeper.
Bear whines again, looking out the window as the rain picks up. "Yeah, babe, I know it’s raining heavily," I murmur, scratching behind his ears. But then, just as I finish, he jumps up and paws at the glass, his anxious energy escalating.
I stand, scoop him back into my arms, and open the window to the small balcony on the 11th floor. The chilly air brushes against my face, and I inhale deeply. It’s a sharp contrast to the suffocating silence inside. But then, something stops me.
I freeze.
Down below, Jun’s black car is parked at the curb, headlights cutting through the dark, rain-slicked street. And there he is—leaning against the bonnet of his car, holding a coffee mug in his hand. A ridiculous thing to use to warm up in the cold. He is drenched to the bone, his jacket clinging to him, his eyes locked on mine, as if he knew I’d be here.
Maybe it’s intuition. Or maybe he’s been waiting this whole time. Either way, his gaze meets mine through the window, and for a split second, the world narrows down to just the two of us.
He waves at me.
I feel a rush in my chest. It’s overwhelming. The pull I’ve been trying to ignore is too strong now. I can’t stop myself.
I run.
I don’t even hesitate. I bolt out, my feet moving faster than my brain. I think of all the curses and scolding I’m about to give him, but as I step outside, he sees me. He chucks the coffee mug, runs toward me, and before I know it, he scoops me up in his arms, lifting me off the ground.
The air is knocked out of my lungs, my breath caught in a rush as I sway in his arms. The cold rain pounds against us, but in his embrace, I feel like nothing can touch me. His bone crushing hug feels like a shield, as if he has no plans of letting me go.
"What are you doing here?"
"Why did you come out like this, bunny?"
"It’s raining, you’ll catch a cold, Juju."
"Fuck it, you’re barely wearing a t-shirt, and that too with holes! Jesus, you’ll catch a fever."
I chuckle softly despite everything, still swaying in his arms. And then, he does too.
We’re both dummies, standing in the rain, talking about catching cold and fever, but none of us breaks the hug.
He brings me inside the hospital’s back door, where I first came out. The blast of warm air hits me immediately, but it’s only then that I realize just how drenched we are. My clothes cling to my skin, and a chill starts creeping through me as I shiver.
"Come with me," His voice a command as he wraps his jacket around me, the familiar scent of him lingering in the fabric, and pulls me close, his arm snug around my shoulders. I expect him to take me back to Ning’s apartment, but instead, he leads me into a private elevator and accesses with a fingerprint.
The doors open on the top floor of the hospital with a soft chime, and we step out, only to come face to face with Dr. Wang Shi and Suyin. Both staring at us, arms crossed.
I instinctively close the jacket tighter around myself, I’m not wearing a bra. The cold air has made it painfully obvious, and my tits poke out from beneath the fabric in a way that makes me feel exposed.
"Kids," Dr. Wang Shi mutters, his voice tinged with annoyance. He steps aside, clearly not wanting to make a scene.
"Get in," Suyin says, her tone warm, as if this is the most normal thing in the world. "There are clothes for you in the guest room. I’ll bring you some chicken soup."
