Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 127: A good food = happy Yiren
Suyin’s pov
I step quietly into the shadows, not wanting to interrupt Jun and Yiren as they hold each other. They look so cute—two souls finding comfort in each other when everything else seems to have crumbled.
Ah the feelings of finding the comfort in your partner’s embrace. The safest place on this earth.
Shishi where are you? I need a tight hug and few kisses.
A sudden hand on my shoulder makes me jump, but before I can shriek, Meimei presses a palm over my mouth.
"Shh," she whispers, "You’ll break the moment."
I hold my chest, "Never do that again. I survived a heart attack just now." This place already looks like a ghost house after being burned down.
Meimei smirks, but her smile fades when she notices the solemn look on Jianyu and Shishi’s faces who join us. Something’s wrong, I can feel it.
"What’s going on?"
Jianyu shakes his head. "Daryl died a few hours ago. Now the company’s in Jason’s hands. He’s the only heir."
Shit.
"Does Jun know about this?"
Shishi responds this time, his voice calm as always but laced with frustration. "He found out on the plane. We tried to get him to go back to NewYork and talk stay until Liliana takes a decision, but he refused. He said he’s needed here. His dreams can go to hell, but he won’t leave Yiren alone with people who’ve kept him in the dark."
There’s a quiet pride in Shishi’s voice on Jun’s decision to stay.
"He’s pissed that we didn’t tell him about the fire. He even told Jianyu off. First time I’ve ever heard him speak to him like that" Meimei says.
Jianyu shrugs, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "It was the tone of a man in love. I’d have done the same for Meimei." He pauses, his eyes softening. "I’m actually kind of proud of him. Expect no less."
"Both of them... they’ve lost their dreams. That’s just cruel."
Shishi hugs me, his arms warm and tight. "It will bring them closer, love. They’ll come out stronger on the other side."
I nod into his chest, holding onto him a little tighter, letting his strength fill me. "No love story ever escapes the test of destiny," he whispers, kissing the top of my head. "They’ll make it. Together. I know my brother too well."
Jianyu agrees, "100%. No one understands this guy better than us. He might be cheeky with us, but I have never seen a guy as determined as him."
Of course they will.
They have too.
But there’s a problem. I don’t have enough money left in my savings to fund this project from the beginning again. I made a huge donation to the children in need of medical attention.
I bite my lip, glancing at Shishi. The card he gave me is sitting in my drawer, the solution to helping Yiren out of this. But if I do, he’ll know that it’s not the holiday cottage for kids that Yiren was building here but the house of his dreams.
The Nest.
Meimei squeezes my hand, offering me a small wink. Her silent support is like a lifeline. Of course this sister of mine.

Jun’s pov
The past few days have been nothing but frustrating. Yiren’s been avoiding my calls. Short, cold messages here and there, but no real conversation. And I can’t shake the feeling something’s wrong. A person only does that when they’re going through something, and I’m not stupid. I know her well enough to tell she’s not fine.
And whenever I questioned my asshole brothers about it, of course, and they just kept telling me she was fine and just busy with work. Liars. They expect me to buy it when they have ripped the people for less when it comes to their women.
It pisses me off. Fine. I’d deal with them in the next boxing match.
Since my brothers didn’t answer me, I sent a couple of my men to check on her. I needed to know what was going on, and I needed to know now. I can’t just sit in New York, worrying about her from afar.
After knowing what she had been dealing with, I ordered for my plane and pilot.
I don’t care about Daryl’s company anymore. I don’t care about any of it. I need to be with my girl.
And I couldn’t be more happier.
The way she flew into his arms, hell yes! It was all worth it!
"Where are we going?" Yiren asks for the hundredth time while caressing Bear’s fur, something she do for emotional support. Though I’m driving, my focus is on her. She’s been quieter than usual, and I don’t like it.
"Five more minutes," I turn on the road that will take us to city’s best food trucks. The only thing that cheers her up and brings smile on her face is food.
A good food = happy Yiren
And she needs it, I have a feeling she hasn’t been eating properly in my absence. The purple shadows under her eyes also tell she isn’t getting enough sleep too, and it kills me to know she’s been going through all of this alone.
This has to change. I’m here now. And nothing is going to keep me from fixing this.
She says nothing, but I catch a slight frown as she watches the signs fly past. I can feel her trying to piece together where I’m taking her. I smile to myself. This will cheer her up.
When we pull into the parking lot, I hear her breath catch. Her eyes widen, scanning the food trucks lined in the park, the bright lights shining, the smells of all the food wafting through the air. There’s no loud music, no crazy crowds. It’s just good food and good people exactly what she needs.
She turns to me, excitement lighting up her face. "No way," she says, eyes wide. "This is the place?"
