Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 17: The goddess
Junjie (Part-3)
A chill runs down my spine. Something’s off. Jianyu’s grin is way too smug, and Shishi’s usual calm demeanor has an edge of amusement to it. My gut is screaming at me, warning me of an impending interrogation. Silly, Jun, weren’t you suspecting this from the start? They’re not here to surprise you. They’re here to bust your ass and drag you back to Imperial City.
"Where’s Z?" I ask, wondering why he didn’t warn me ahead of time. Typical Zian.
Jianyu’s grin widens. "Babysitting."
Silent prayers for Z. The kids he’s babysitting are little monsters from hell. But that jerk deserves it. Let him suffer.
"So, Jun—" Jianyu throws a heavy arm around my shoulder, his smirk widening as if he’s about to sink his claws in deeper. "Where’s Yiren? Don’t tell me you’re here alone."
I open my mouth, ready to say something clever, but before I can, Shishi adds to the pressure, placing another hand on my other shoulder. "Yeah, can’t seem to spot her anywhere."
"Yiren?" I force a laugh, but it comes out stiff. "Oh, she’s... on her way. Probably stuck in traffic. Let me call her." I pull my phone out of my pocket, pretending like I’m about to fix the situation.
"No need," Shishi says casually, snatching my phone from my hand and tucking it into his jacket. "I’m sure she’s stuck somewhere. We’ll just wait."
They’re having way too much fun with this.
I gulp, hard.
"There they are!"
I turn around and freeze. Suyin, Shishi’s wife, and MeiMei, Jianyu’s wife, are striding toward us with that all-too-familiar glint in their eyes—one that tells me I’m about fked. Oh no.
Suyin is the first to hug me, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "Jun! We missed you. Oh and congratulations."
"Congratulations?" I ask, my voice hitching, already sensing where this is going.
MeiMei sidles up next to Suyin, her smile wide, but her eyes scrutinizing. " Yiren, Jun. Congratulations. Where is she, btw?"
My stomach drops. I glance at my brothers, who are both standing a little too casually, hands in pockets, grinning like they’ve been planning this ambush for months. Of course, they have. Why wouldn’t they? Family, my ass.
"She’s on the way." Jianyu answered, while my mind was racing to search for a way out.
Suyin raises a perfectly shaped eyebrow. "Is she now? You know, we thought we might have missed her. What’s keeping her busy?"
"Yeah, is she working?" MeiMei chimes in, leaning against Jianyu, who’s just watching me with a smirk that makes me want to punch him.
I can feel the sweat forming on my forehead. I scramble for something—anything. "She... um... yeah, she’s working on a pitch. She got tied up. But she’s definitely coming."
"But a moment back you said she’s stuck in traffic." Shishi pointed, exchanging looks with Jianyu. I swear they’re communicating telepathically, like two wolves circling their prey. This was their plan all along. Catch me unprepared. Bastards.
"Yea, was working earlier—" shut up Jun. You will start babbling and they gonna know. "--and then stuck in traffic— now on her way? Maybe--" I sighed and closed my mouth before I did more damage. "I need a drink."
Jianyu leans to whisper, ""Jun, Jun, Jun... you really think you can lie to us?"
Oh god, I don’t want to live anymore. Kill me.

Time stretches. I sip my drink, and try to chat idly with my sisters-in-law, but my mind is elsewhere, anxiously looking for an escape and at my phone in Shishi’s pocket. Every minute feels like an hour.
Yiren’s not going to appear, and then I’ll be grilled by my brothers later. Such events call for a date and if I haven’t brought my girlfriend who I love so much that I’m staying away from my family, It would bust my azz.
I’m about two seconds from losing it and telling my brothers the truth. I open my mouth to say something, anything when I notice the sudden shift in the room’s atmosphere. A low murmur spreads through the crowd near the entrance, people turning their heads and craning their necks to look.
I follow their gazes, and my heart stutters in my chest.
Yiren strides into the room, and everything stops.
She’s dressed in a midnight-blue gown that clings to her curves like it was tailored by the gods themselves. Her hair cascades down her shoulders in soft waves, and her face is glowing, red lips curved into a soft, confident smile. Every head in the room turns as she makes her way toward me, and right beside her, trotting with an adorable strut, is Bear—dressed in a tiny tuxedo. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
I blink. Is this real? Am I hallucinating?
Yiren’s eyes meet mine from across the room, and there’s a teasing glint in her gaze. She walks right up to me, stopping just inches away, her lips curving into a smirk as she winks, and pecks my cheeks lightly. "Hey babe."
I closed my mouth. Who is she? My eyes blatantly sweep her from top to bottom. Is she the same woman dancing in my kitchen wearing just a t-shirt with countless holes?
Wait.... She isn’t wearing a—panty? What’s with this woman and missing undergarments? Holy fk.
"P-panty—"
"What panty? Are you drunk?"
"No."
"Then pick up your jaw."
My mouth goes dry. She looks... she looks like a damn goddess. She looks so stunning I actually forget how to breathe for a second. How did she pull this off? I mean, Bear in a tux?
"Yiren," I murmur, trying to collect my thoughts. "You--"
"Say thanks to Zian for saving your azz." She leans in, her breath warm against my ear, and whispers, "Now, try not to look too shocked, or they’ll know something’s up."
I swallow hard, doing my best to compose myself as Suyin and MeiMei approach, their expressions ranging from happiness to outright stunned. Bear, clearly enjoying the attention, lets out a playful bark and sits obediently by Yiren’s side. He is a paid actor, trust me.
A waiter walks by with a tray of champagne and she snatches one, drowning it in one go.
"Jesus. Don’t bust my azz."
"I’m unprepared. Without a script. Need a little push."
I offer her my drink, "Take one more." With my hand on the small of her back I steered her to my family. Yep. No panty. I’m one hundred percent sure now.
Yiren gives a sweet, innocent smile. "Hi, guys."
Jianyu and Shishi exchange glances, still smirking, but there’s a flicker of doubt in their eyes. They didn’t expect this. Yiren—dressed to kill, pulling off this whole act like a pro. And Bear... the tuxedo was a stroke of genius. I’m almost tempted to applaud her.
I see Jianyu pointing two fingers at his eyes and then at me. Shishi’s narrows at me.
Gulps.
This is not going to be easy.
