Fake dating my enemy, The playboy billionaire-Chapter 92: The mysterious gift
YIREN’S POV
"I hate adulting," I mutter, every muscle in my body protesting. Last night was amazing, but the morning after? Not so much. And now, I have to drag myself out of bed to make a living. Oh, the joy.
I stretch my arm, expecting to find Jun still asleep next to me, but—nothing. Instead, there’s a fresh red rose and an envelope where he should be. I take a sniff of the rose, smiling at its soft scent, before noticing the envelope feels heavier than a typical note. Curiosity piqued, I open it to find a small USB drive with his initials, FJ, etched on it.
His note reads:
"Urgent work call. I’ll be back in two weeks. There is an ointment on the nightstand, apply it twice a day. If you feel any discomfort, call Suyin, and she’ll write you a prescription. Be good. Don’t spoil Bear with too many treats—he’s becoming a real-life bear. Take care of yourself and make sure you miss me plenty. Jun ❤️"
A tiny heart at the end has me smiling like a lovesick fool. Just then, Bear barks, demanding attention, and I scoop him up, covering his fluffy face with kisses. "Daddy says no extra treats, you are getting fat." I tell him, but Bear’s side eyes seem to say ’Daddy needs to get his eyes checked.’
Then, I notice another note sticking out of Bear’s t-shirt pocket. Scribbled on it is a ridiculously long, complicated password followed by:
"Memorize this. Burn the paper afterward. The file in the USB is downloadable only once and then it will self-destruct."
I blink. Memorize it? Is he serious?
"That password’s longer than your dick," I grumble, staring at the absurdly complex code.
Whatever....

I throw myself into the work, fully immersing myself in both my projects and the one Jun entrusted to me.
As I start breaking down the specs, I realize this VR prototype is more complex than anything I’ve tackled before. Every detail needs to be perfect, from the smallest screw to the way wind brushes off the car’s body. This isn’t your average VR project; it’s immersive, down-to-the-last-detail design and involves lot of aerodynamics.
If only I could tap into Bruce’s expertise. He’s a genius at this kind of thing. But if Jun wanted help from someone else, he’d have arranged it himself.
So yep....It’s up to me to brush on some of my concepts and get it done.

"Hey, Yiren, if you’re free today, can I swing by to see the progress?" Suyin’s voice comes through the phone, cheerful as ever. I sigh inwardly, wishing I could say no to keep some element of surprise. But, well, timely client feedback is a must.
"Of course! Bring Honey along."
"Trust me, he’s already getting ready," she chuckles, "and he’s putting together a bouquet just for you."
Before I can respond, I hear Honey’s unmistakable voice in the background. "Ducky! You’re a spoilsport! That was Renren’s surprise!"
A laugh slips out of me. Honey’s such a sweetheart. "Well, let me ask him something, put me on speaker—Honey, are you interested in joining me for a lunch date today?"
"YES! YES! YES! Italian please!" His little voice is so enthusiastic it’s hard not to grin.
"It’s a date then, mi amor."
"I’ll have to Google what that means, but bye-bye, Renren!" Honey’s cheerfulness is infectious, and I hang up smiling, already looking forward to seeing them both.
A few hours later, just around lunchtime, Suyin and Honey arrive at the lakeside site, right on time. As they approach, I spot a beautiful bouquet nestled in a crystal vase—Honey’s floral masterpiece.
"Here, let me help you with that." I take the vase from Honey, surprised at how heavy it is. The arrangement is stunning—a melody of colors, textures, and shapes, each flower and leaf carefully chosen.
"Did you pick all these from your garden?" I ask.
Honey beams, flashing his wide, gap-toothed smile. "Yes! All for the most beautiful Renren! Can we take a selfie?"
I crouch down to his level and kiss his cheek, and he takes a quick selfie of us with the flowers, looking proud as ever.
Suyin chuckles, shaking her head. "He’s going to send it to Jun to tease him and then get one of his demands fulfilled in exchange of something. This boy, I swear."
Honey shrugs with a mischievous smile. And honestly? If someone were to do the same to me, I wouldn’t mind. I sneak a glance at my phone, realizing it’s been five days since I last saw Jun, and... I miss him more than I’d like to admit.
At that moment, Bear comes bounding over, his fluffy tail wagging as he cozies up next to Honey. In Jun’s absence, Bear has been my little shadow, my constant companion at home and work.
I lead Suyin and Honey to my office—a converted room in the house, half storage unit, half workspace. A gift box with a red ribbon sits waiting on the table. Curious, I glance at Bruce, who’s doing something on laptop.
"Someone dropped it off at the office this morning, so I brought it here for you," he says with a casual shrug.
I pick up the box, noticing only the initials FJ on the card. Of course, it’s from him. Suyin’s eyes light up. "Is it from Jun?"
I nod, trying not to blush under her excited gaze.
She rubs her hands together, shamelessly eager. "I know, it’s bad manners, but if it’s okay can I please see what Feng Jun gifts his girlfriend? These brothers are hopeless romantic fools and their gifts? Always next level. Jun is the most romantic of them!"
Honey pops his head between us. "Open it, Renren!"
I hesitate. Bruce is still in the room, and knowing Jun, this could be... anything. "Bruce, could you check the camera setup in the left wing? And if it’s done, move it to the kitchen where we’re installing the cabinets."
Once he’s gone, I take a deep breath. Okay, let’s hope it’s not one of his infamous pranks. Or I’m going to kill him.
Slowly, I pull the ribbon and lift the lid. Red tissue papers covered it- so I moved them away. "Ah!" With a squeak, I smashed down the tissue and lid back on it.
Jun I’m going to kill you!
