Falling for the Omega Idol-Chapter 208: EUNWOO’S OBSERVATION
"WHY did you pull me out here?" Taeyang asked as soon as Eunwoo stopped in a quiet corner, a spot that was clearly out of sight from any cameras.
Eunwoo glanced at him with one eyebrow raised. "Do you have any idea what you looked like back there? You looked like you were one second away from actually punching Han Seojun."
That made Taeyang pause. Did he really look like that? He had been so annoyed earlier that he didn’t even try to control his expression. So, yeah, he might have really looked like he was about to beat Han Seojun up. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
He let out a long sigh. He had calmed down now, so he could see how bad his attitude must have looked. There were cameras all over the performance hall. If one of them caught his little ’confrontation’ with Han Seojun, it wouldn’t look good if the production team decided to spin it into some dramatic storyline for a future episode.
Hopefully, since Choi Yujin was eliminated now, that footage wouldn’t be used. The whole mess started with what he did. If you removed him from the equation, then his own fight with Han Seojun wouldn’t make much sense. Unless, of course, the production team spun it into something completely different. And they could easily do that if they had enough separate clips to stitch together and create a whole new narrative.
Taeyang closed his eyes for a moment, gathering his thoughts. Then he opened them and turned to face Eunwoo directly. "Thanks."
Eunwoo nodded and then tilted his head, looking at Taeyang carefully. "But what’s gotten into you? It’s rare to see you lose your temper like that." When Taeyang didn’t answer right away, Eunwoo seemed to reach his own conclusion. "Is it related to Kang Haneul?"
Yes, it did. But Taeyang didn’t want to admit that to Eunwoo. They knew each other, but they were not exactly friends. They did not have the kind of relationship where they would confide in each other about personal things. So, instead, he changed the subject. "Congratulations on passing this round."
Amusement filled Eunwoo at the blatant change in topic. He could see how Taeyang’s usual calmness was settling back in. The cool, impassive expression he usually wore was firmly back in place. It was so different from the angry, intense look he’d had just minutes before.
Eunwoo couldn’t help but think back to the scene that had happened earlier. He’d been standing close enough to see it all clearly. He couldn’t remember the guy’s name, but the Omega had been shouting at Han Seojun and glaring at Kang Haneul. The whole thing reeked of a jealous meltdown. As a Beta, Eunwoo had smelled none of the pheromones the other must have released, but he’d seen its effect. He’d watched the surrounding Alphas stiffen and recoil.
It was the kind of drama he had not expected to see up close. Especially not in an idol survival program. They were there to become idols, not to look for people to date. He hardly thought other survival shows had this issue. But then again, this show was probably the first one to mix all three male secondary genders together. So it made sense if some contestants developed feelings.
Eunwoo just hadn’t expected Taeyang to be one of those people. Yes, it was as clear as day that Taeyang had feelings for Kang Haneul. It was even clearer to him because he knew Taeyang from before this show. The other had always been, well, pretty indifferent. At least, that’s how he seemed during those boring social parties where Eunwoo used to see him. That’s why Eunwoo could tell, when he noticed Taeyang paying way too much attention to Kang Haneul, that the former was getting interested in the latter.
But he had never thought it was that serious. He’d assumed it was just a passing interest. What he witnessed earlier completely changed that idea. The way Taeyang had immediately moved to protect Kang Haneul, and then how he’d almost snarled at that other Omega guy—if not for the French Omega, what was his name again? Robin. Yes, if Robin hadn’t given that Omega a piece of his mind, Taeyang probably would have done it himself. And then, there was that whole tense standoff with Han Seojun.
It was like watching a scene straight out of a drama. Two Alphas glaring at each other with barely contained tension, while the Omega they both liked stood right there in the middle.
That was when Eunwoo knew Taeyang’s feelings for Kang Haneul were definitely not just some passing fancy. The fact that he showed more real emotion right then than he ever had when other members of the Lee family had mocked and insulted him in the past... that proved it was something serious for him.
"Congratulations to you as well," he said, finally responding to Taeyang’s earlier words.
Taeyang gave a single nod. "If you have nothing else to say, I’ll go ahead."
Eunwoo stared at the other for a second and then shook his head. Taeyang would most likely go look for Kang Haneul. "Go on then," he said. "And oh, Taeyang? Try to keep your temper in check. I really wouldn’t want you to get eliminated because you ended up beating up another Alpha who shows an interest in Kang Haneul."
Taeyang blinked, clearly not knowing how to respond to that comment. His usual composure slipped for a second, showing his surprise. That only made Eunwoo chuckle a little.
***
After he helped Robin pack, Haneul walked back to his own cabin. An announcement had come over the speakers earlier, while he was still in Robin’s room. The voice apologized for the incident in the performance hall. It also stated that the eliminated contestants would leave soon and that the remaining ones could go say goodbye if they wished. The announcement ended with a reminder for everyone to move to their newly assigned rooms before dinner.
So now, he’s walking back to his cabin to grab his things so he could move to his new room.
