After the official Boys Odyssey account posted this across their social media platforms, the post was quickly flooded with thousands of comments and likes.
- Ah, I really want to go! Please pick me!
└ Me too! But why does it have to be on a Monday? I have work! Should I just take a leave?
└└ Careful, your boss might see this comment.
└└ But seriously, why a weekday? I have school too! This is unfair. Does the production team actually want people to show up?
└└└ I think they’re confident enough that even on a weekday, people will come if they get picked.
└└└└ True. I’d definitely take a day off if I got chosen.
- Where do you think the ship is right now?
└ I heard a rumor they’re in Jeju Island.
└└ Jeju? Now I want to go even more. If I get picked, I might take three days off.
└└ Is that even true?
└└└ It’s true. I’m from Jeju and I’ve seen The Argo docked here.
└└└└ Then why aren’t there more posts about it? If I saw that ship, I’d be posting non-stop.
└└└└└ Not everyone is a clout chaser like you.
└└└└└ I think there are posts, but they get taken down once they get enough traction.
└└└└└└ Yes, that happened to me! I posted one and it got deleted after a certain number of likes.
└└└└└└ Wow. Their PR team is really on top of things.
- I wonder what their mission will be this time.
└ It’s definitely going to be a dance mission.
└└ I think so too! Ah, I’m so excited. I really want to watch it live. Please pick me!
└└ If it’s a dance mission, then it’ll probably be like the vocal mission. Back then they only sang. Now they’ll only dance.
└└└ That’s what I’m thinking too.
└└ A dance mission? Ah... I’m worried about my pick. Dancing isn’t his strong suit.
└└└ Same here. Watching my pick in the theme song performance, it’s pretty clear he’s not great at dancing. His face makes up for it though.
└└└└ I think I know who you mean. He’s my pick too. But I can’t pretend he’s good at dancing.
└└└└└ You’re talking about Haneul, right? His singing is great but his dancing is... a bit...
The comments kept coming, piling up by the hundreds. Fans shared their hopes and theories, some anxious, some excited. Every new reply brought more noise, more energy, more people talking about the same thing. Soon the post was trending across multiple social media platforms and local forums.

The next day passed by quickly. All the groups spent most of it inside their practice rooms, running through their routines again and again. With the live performance only three days away, there wasn’t much time left. Everyone was focused on getting their choreography as clean as possible before they had to perform in front of a live audience.
Haneul’s group had just stopped for a break before dinner. He decided to use the time to go to the phone booth and call his parents and younger sister. They were probably all home by now.
When he reached the area where the phone booth was, he was surprised to find it nearly empty. He remembered how packed this place used to be during the early days on the ship. There was always a line of contestants waiting for their turn. Maybe it was because there were only forty of them now. Or maybe everyone was just too busy practicing to think about calling home.
He shrugged and stepped into one of the empty booths. He picked up the phone and dialed home. After just a couple of rings, someone picked up.
"Hello?" Haeun’s voice came through from the other end.
"Haeun-ah," he called.
"Oppa!" Haeun’s voice brightened the moment she recognized his voice. "Are you on a break from practice? How’s the choreography coming along? Are you finding it hard?"
Haneul chuckled at his sister’s questions. He called home a couple times a week, so his family already knew most of what was going on. Not everything, though. He couldn’t tell them about what happened with Choi Yujin, or how uncomfortable Jeon Hyunsik made him feel. There was a camera in every booth. Whatever he said during these calls could end up on the show. If people saw him talking about those things, they might think he was trying to start drama. So, he only talked about the most mundane things.
"Yeah, I’m on break right now," he answered. "We finished our team’s choreography a while ago. Now we’re just practicing until we get it perfect. And yeah, it’s hard. You know I’m not great at dancing. But I’m doing my best not to slow the others down."
"You can do it, Oppa!" Haeun said, her voice full of encouragement. "You’ve always been someone who works hard until you get things right. I believe in you. And I’m sure your teammates are lucky to have you."
Haneul couldn’t help but smile at what Haeun said. He knew his sister was just being biased, but he still appreciated the encouragement. "I’ll do my best. Thank you, Haeun-ah."
"Don’t worry, Oppa, I’m sure you will do great," Haeun said. " Just don’t overthink it and just trust the amount of time you spent in practice. Hard work will never fail you."
Haneul felt a warmth in his chest at her words. "Ah, our Haeun’s really grown up now, hasn’t she?"
He could hear his sister sputtering on the other end of the line. Even without seeing her, Haneul knew she was probably turning red from embarrassment because of his comment.
The thought made him laugh softly to himself. Really, his sister was so cute.
