Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Where Haven’t You Visited?

How does the man look anything like a domineering CEO? He’s clearly a reckless military punk.

"No way!" she gritted her teeth.

Claire Shaw lifted her leg to his abdomen, but the man reacted quickly and grabbed her calf.

Her slipper fell off, and her toes, painted with red polish, curled slightly.

Claire Shaw is a very contradictory person; gentle and kind to her students, but cold as ice when interacting with the opposite sex. Anyone would laud her as a good teacher.

Her ten fingernails had only a layer of protective polish, looking clean and neat.

But the toes hidden by her shoes were a striking red.

Claire Shaw’s current situation was quite bad. She managed to balance herself with one arm around the man’s neck and the other gripping the handrail.

She tried to pull her leg back, her voice indifferent, "Mr. Blackwood, I’m here for a home visit."

"Aside from my lips, where on my body haven’t you visited?"

Claire Shaw’s cheeks flushed, but her eyes were exceptionally sharp, "Mr. Blackwood, please don’t interfere with my work."

An aloofness that seemed unfeeling, as if it would explode at any moment.

Ethan Blackwood looked at Claire Shaw’s expression and chuckled lightly.

Only then did he release his grip on her, "Alright, I’ll go change first."

Claire Shaw breathed a sigh of relief, slipped out from the handrail, and quickly pressed the elevator button, eager to escape.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, she dashed inside, only for a well-defined hand to stop the closing doors.

He pressed the button for another floor, and the doors closed in front of them.

In the enclosed space, Claire Shaw stood straight, staring at the doors without wavering, afraid to meet a certain man’s gaze and spark any further ambiguous tension.

Before the doors opened, she was already poised to rush out.

Ethan Blackwood pressed the close button, preventing the doors from opening.

Claire Shaw frowned in displeasure, "Mr. Blackwood, I hope you won’t do this again in the future. I fear others will misunderstand, regardless of your situation with your wife; I don’t want to ruin someone else’s family."

Her brows and eyes were resolute, as if any entanglement with him was a disgrace.

"So, you regret it?"

Claire Shaw stated firmly, "Yes, if I had known you were married at the time, I would never have chosen you."

Danger was approaching, the man’s handsome features turned gloomy, his voice icy, "Who do you plan to choose then?"

"Certainly not a married man."

Claire Shaw pulled away his arm, the doors gradually opened, and bright light poured in.

Ethan Blackwood watched her departing figure in a daze as the elevator ascended to his bedroom door.

The butler stood respectfully to the side, "That Ms. Shaw is the one the young master is interested in, isn’t she?"

"Yes," Ethan Blackwood didn’t deny it, "Treat her well."

"Understood, but has the young master told Ms. Shaw the child’s background? Anyone would mistake the child for your illegitimate child, being a single father. If the young master wishes to pursue further, it’s imperative to inform her early that there’s no blood relation with the young master, to avoid any misunderstandings."

Ethan Blackwood’s lips twitched slightly, "She’s not interested." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Reception room.

Claire Shaw sat obediently on the sofa, the butler brought over a few snacks and fruits, "The young master went to shower and change clothes, Ms. Shaw, have some fruit and wait for a moment."

In the evening, Claire Shaw generally only ate low-calorie meals or meal replacements; she wouldn’t touch high-calorie food.

But she still responded politely, "Thank you."

She looked over to see some low-calorie fruits like cherry tomatoes, kiwi, starfruit.

Next to them were delicate and appetizing pastries.

The butler explained, "The bread is whole wheat, and the pastries and drinks use zero-calorie sugar."

She sipped her favorite lemon water to soothe her throat, and proactively asked, "Aside from sharing Mason’s daily school life, I also wanted to learn about his situation at home. Mr. Blackwood is often absent, so you’re probably the one taking care of Mason more often."

To avoid running into Ethan Blackwood later, Claire Shaw began the home visit right away.

The butler nodded, "Yes, the young master used to spend little time at home, but it’ll be more now. Ms. Shaw doesn’t need to worry."

Worry about what? What is she supposed to worry about?

Claire Shaw found the butler’s words strange but didn’t think much of it, probably because the butler was hospitable and prepared, hence gave a faultless response.

"Although you usually accompany him, a child needs more care from their parents. Mason’s personality is too reclusive; does Mrs. Blackwood spend much time with him when Mrs. Blackwood isn’t home?"

Complex relationships in wealthy families made teachers cautious about asking too much.

"Ms. Shaw, you’re joking. Our young master isn’t even married, where would Mrs. Blackwood come from?"

Not married? So Mason was born out of wedlock?

Indeed, a scumbag!

But he didn’t lie; he is indeed single.

The butler wanted to explain further to prevent Claire Shaw from mistaking the child as Ethan Blackwood’s biological son, but a voice came from the stairs, "If Ms. Shaw wants to know anything, why not just ask me directly."

Ethan Blackwood appeared at the staircase, wearing black silk pajamas, the smooth satin radiating a shine under the crystal chandelier.

His every gesture exuded nobility and laziness.

Compared to their first meeting, his hair had grown longer, with a few strands naturally falling over his forehead, still damp.

He approached with long strides in slippers and sat across from Claire Shaw, legs casually crossed, embodying the aura of a young master from a wealthy family.

A stark contrast to the boxer drenched in sweat in the ring not long ago.

The butler tactfully retreated, while Claire Shaw looked somewhat displeased.

"Does Mr. Blackwood usually meet guests wearing pajamas?"

She tried hard to draw boundaries with him, yet after all her effort, the man’s disregard in treating her as an outsider annoyed her.

In a moment of impulse, emboldened by alcohol, she had an encounter with the man.

It was an experience she had never had before.

As dawn broke, he wrapped an arm around her waist, murmuring by her ear, "Once more?"

She was so exhausted she couldn’t open her eyes, replying half-heartedly, "Next time."

They naturally had a next time, and the time after that, leading Claire Shaw to savor the pleasures of intimacy.

But this relationship was based on her belief that Ethan Blackwood was just an ordinary or moderately well-off single man.

If she had known his identity, Claire Shaw would never have been involved from the start.

Ethan Blackwood raised an eyebrow, "What, not formal enough? After all, we spend more time together not wearing anything. I don’t know Ms. Shaw’s preferences, how about you come to my room, and I’ll try on clothes for you, one by one, until you’re satisfied."
