Fantasy Lord: Beginning with Daily Intelligence-Chapter 41: The Arrival of Rajos Assad
For Rajos Assad, Thor was highly anticipated, and amid this anticipation, time quickly slipped away. Before he knew it, the month had come to an end, and a new month had arrived. As the new month began, a caravan appeared on the road leading from Loren City to Eagle Ridge.
Of course, there was no road here initially.
However, after Thor traveled the route a few times with his people, a path was gradually formed.
Rajos Assad was slowly advancing along this path.
There weren’t many people with him at the moment, only around forty to fifty, and there were only a dozen knights. However, several carriages were loaded, the wheel tracks pressing deep into the ground, clearly carrying heavy cargo.
At the front of the caravan.
Rajos Assad rode a snow-white steed.
"Sir, in one more day, we should be able to reach Eagle Ridge,"
Lum said respectfully.
"Understood!"
"Speed up the pace. Let’s try to reach Eagle Ridge by noon tomorrow. I believe my friend will give us the best reception."
Rajos Assad spoke with a smile.
However, after his words fell, there was a hint of worry and anxiety deep in his eyes.
This was not only about his situation but also the apprehension regarding Eagle Territory.
That day, because he envisioned a better future with that figure, his heart was stirred, deciding to sell Molten Fire Oil to the descendant of Dressrosa.
But as time went by,
he couldn’t help but have doubts about the words spoken by that member of the Dressrosa Family.
The Dressrosa Family was even weaker than their Assad Family. Would they really offer such substantial support to a descendant?
That involved a Great Knight and dozens of Official Knights.
Even for a Count, such power was significant.
At least, in his understanding, his second brother had also chosen to be a Pioneer Knight and had earned their father’s favor, yet the resources he received were only about twenty Official Knights and a hundred or so Apprentice Knights, with slightly more Gold Coins, totaling only ten thousand.
The words from Thor Dressrosa made him somewhat skeptical.
So, after a moment of hesitation, Rajos still decided to come and see for himself.
On one hand, he wanted to confirm things one last time; on the other, he wanted to see what Thor Dressrosa’s territory had become, and whether it could truly help him achieve his ideas.
If not, he needed to consider other paths.
"Perhaps, I could try other territories!"
"But my power is still too weak, and I don’t have many items that could impress those lords, so this approach is quite risky."
Rajos muttered to himself, falling into contemplation.
The time passed quickly,
and in the blink of an eye, a day had passed.
When the noonday sun rose,
Rajos and his group finally saw the Maine River Valley ahead, as well as the farms and buildings scattered around.
But the moment he saw Eagle Ridge, Rajos’s eyes widened instantly, even subconsciously rubbing them.
Because the territory that appeared before him completely exceeded his expectations.
Instead of the imagined chaos and desolation, it was neat and unified, with fields of wheat dotting the horizon, and a huge castle standing tall and majestic in the center.
It was not in line with what a new lord’s territory should look like.
If Rajos hadn’t confirmed this was indeed Eagle Ridge, he might have thought he had arrived at a Baron’s territory.
"My God, he... he actually built it like this."
"A castle, even a castle is here."
Rajos spoke with disbelief, his heart filled with shock.
About Thor Dressrosa, Rajos certainly did some follow-up. He knew that Thor came to become a Pioneer Knight, arriving less than four months ago at most.
Yet this scene before him in the territory, even less than four months, to say nothing of two to three years for a typical Pioneer Lord, might not even yield such results.
In his shock, a touch of delight inevitably spread across his face.
And at that moment, in the distance, several knights were quickly riding toward them.
Seeing who was coming, Rajos’s smile grew even brighter.
He quickly dismounted.
And the figures in the distance soon arrived.
They dismounted as well.
Thor quickly came forward.
And embraced Rajos.
"Welcome, my friend!"
A gentle voice sounded, accompanied by a sincere smile.
"I’ve been looking forward to seeing you, my friend!"
"To be honest, my friend, you really surprised me. It’s only been four months, and your territory is already of this scale."
Rajos said with emotion.
"Thanks to the protection of the Goddess of Life, everything went smoothly for me."
"Come, I’ve prepared a lavish dinner for you, my friend. You must be hungry by now."
Thor nodded with a smile and invited Rajos.
"It’s my honor,"
Rajos nodded with a smile.
Then Thor led Rajos and his entourage into the territory.
And once inside the territory, Rajos was undoubtedly even more astonished.
The whole territory was even better than he had imagined, with clean and spacious roads, filled with voices brimming with smiles.
Rajos couldn’t see the numbness, despair, or lifelessness found in other territories’ people. All he saw was hope, anticipation, and veneration for Thor Dressrosa.
This was simply incredible.
He knew that these people were slaves just months ago.
When did slaves become so lively?
Seeing this, his gaze toward Thor changed once more.
And when he reached the castle, his eyes flashed with shock again.
Knights walked by one by one.
Astonishingly, many were Official Knights.
Even though Thor had told him that he had over forty Official Knights, he couldn’t help but be awestruck upon seeing so many Official Knights in person.
These were Official Knights.
With its current scale, Eagle Ridge was truly comparable to any Baron’s territory.
In some respects, it was even better developed than some Baron’s territories.
This was simply unimaginable.
With shock, his smile grew even brighter.
Because the better Eagle Ridge developed, the better it was for him, without a doubt.
His previous apprehension, nervousness, and unease had completely vanished by this point.
Instead, he felt a sense of anticipation.
An anticipation for the future.
With Eagle Ridge’s current scale, he was almost certain that Thor could undoubtedly become a Baron. And relying on a Baron’s territory, his trade could truly flourish.
