Farming with Entries: From Lord to Emperor-Chapter 544 - 276: The Mine_2
Luo De dismounted and carefully observed the terrain ahead.
"Are there no other entrances?" Luo De asked.
Brando immediately shook his head, "No, this silver mine has just been developed, and currently, there is only this one tunnel."
Luo De nodded slightly, staring at the cave entrance thoughtfully.
Brando, being very perceptive, took out an exquisite iron box from his pocket.
"Baron Rod, I am very pleased that you could come. This is your reward."
Brando whispered, "If my son can be rescued smoothly, from now on, we will sell whatever is mined here to you at half price."
Luo De took the iron box, opened it slightly, and saw the silvery items inside.
Then, Luo De reached in to grip it, attempting to inject the blazing energy into it.
There was no resistance whatsoever.
Even if it wasn’t mithril, it would still be magical metal.
"Don’t worry, I will do my best."
Luo De solemnly promised.
Luo De agreed to get involved in this matter not only for the mithril but also for Brando’s Hammer family.
This would be Luo De’s foundation in the Red Griffin Clan.
"Thank you for your help!" Brando bowed deeply.
Luo De didn’t say much more and instructed, "Leave the archer and a team of soldiers to guide the way; the others should stand down." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Against a spellcaster, the presence of ordinary people holds little meaning here.
"Remember, retreat immediately at the first sign of resistance; do not force yourself."
"Understood."
Brando quickly waved over his knight.
He was a burly middle-aged man with a long scar on his face.
"Ku Lun, take a team inside to scout the way."
Brando’s command was a little shaky.
"Yes, sir."
Knight Kuren nodded respectfully in response.
He then waved his hand, and five fully armed soldiers, already prepared, moved forward swiftly.
Luo De ordered the Frost Winter Knights to tie strong hemp ropes around the waists of these soldiers, so they could be pulled back swiftly if danger arose.
Luo De was reluctant to put his own subordinates in harm’s way but would try to protect other soldiers’ lives as much as possible.
With everything in order, the soldiers holding their shields slowly approached the entrance of the mine.
Luo De led the team from the rear, preparing to observe the entire process carefully.
But as soon as these people, holding torches, entered the cave, at a distance less than thirty meters from the entrance, something unusual started to occur.
The walls around them lit up with blue light, and light blue mist began to rise.
Knight Kuren’s steps became unsteady.
He reached out his hand, trying to clear the mist before him, but his movement was exceptionally slow.
"Sir, what’s wrong with you?"
The soldier following behind shouted in inquiry.
But Knight Kuren seemed unable to hear his comrade’s voice, stumbling forward.
The other soldiers soon entered the range of the mist as well.
Their behavior mirrored that of Knight Kuren, movements sluggish and expressions dazed.
"Saint Master, they seem to be lost."
Sao looked at the scene ahead, "Clearly the path is right in front, yet they are going in circles."
Luo De carefully observed the behavior patterns of the soldiers.
They hadn’t lost consciousness nor collapsed.
Instead, they seemed to be controlled by some force, unable to find the correct direction.
"It appears to be some kind of illusion effect."
Luo De analyzed, "Not a direct attack, but interference with perception, quite interesting."
Luo De’s gaze swept across the surrounding walls, searching for the source of the array.
At that moment, Knight Kuren suddenly stopped in his tracks.
He turned, facing an empty area, and raised his longsword.
"Enemy attack!"
Knight Kuren shouted, beginning to slash at the air.
The other soldiers also drew their weapons, launching attacks at the invisible enemy.
Their movements were earnest and intense, as though truly battling an unseen foe.
"It does seem to be an illusion array."
Luo De instructed Sao and the others: "Bring them all back."
"Yes, Saint Master."
Sao nodded, raised his arm, and the Frost Winter Knights immediately took action.
The inhabitants of Black Pine Ridge had physiques far stronger than ordinary people, with Frost Winter Knights being the best among them.
The five soldiers in front had no power to resist, being dragged back forcefully to the ground.
Of course, Knight Kuren was no exception.
Once out of the mist’s range, they gradually regained their senses.
Ku Lun quickly got up and started to report: "Lord Luo De, we..."
"Retreat, I will handle the rest."
Luo De interrupted Ku Lun, "Move farther back, I will inform you if needed."
"Understood, Lord Luo De."
Ku Lun didn’t hesitate, leading his soldiers to retreat fifty meters out of the cave.
Standing at the cave entrance, Luo De took out a whistle and blew it.
The whistle echoed, followed by a low, deep wind sound.
Everyone involuntarily looked up at the sky.
The silhouettes of Frost and Thunder appeared from the clouds and swooped down.
"Oh my!"
Brando’s eyes widened, his voice trembling: "The legends are true!"
Marcus and the other soldiers were so frightened their legs turned to jelly, instinctively placing their hands on the longswords at their waists.
"You’d better not make any rash moves."
Luo De warned, "Thunder and Frost will not harm you, but if you show hostility, I can’t guarantee your safety."
Upon hearing this, the soldiers breathed a sigh of relief and retreated another dozen meters.
Brando muttered to himself, utterly shocked.
Though Vika had long known Luo De was extraordinary, witnessing the giant dragons first-hand left her speechless.
Thunder and Frost circled once in the air, then slowly descended before Luo De.
