Fated love: the unwanted bride-Chapter 2162: Jasmine Yale Is Even More Amused and Frustrated
"Kade, if a few banks can’t approve the loans, am I supposed to sit around and wait for a cash flow shortage?" Sylvan Cheney’s sharp voice echoed.
At the door, Jasmine Yale stopped in her tracks.
"President, you’ve been on medication for the past few days."
"I’ve been taking it for a few days, I’m already better, no worries."
"Alright, I’ll get back to the business side."
Footsteps were heard from inside the room.
Kade Yuvan approached the door, opened it, and was stunned: "Jasmine?"
Standing up, Sylvan Cheney also turned his head, seeing Jasmine Yale, his brows furrowed, eyes deep like unfathomable still water.
"Good morning, Assistant Yuvan."
"You’re just in time, could you make the President a cup of coffee? My skill isn’t as good as yours."
Saying this, Kade Yuvan gestured to Jasmine Yale and left carrying a thick stack of files.
Only Jasmine Yale and Sylvan Cheney were left in the president’s office.
Sylvan Cheney withdrew his gaze, lowering his head to organize the things on the desk.
Jasmine Yale walked in, she didn’t say much, just glanced at Sylvan Cheney and headed towards the lounge.
After a short while, she came out with a glass of milk.
"Coffee isn’t good for your stomach, how could Assistant Yuvan be so careless." Jasmine Yale said lightly, "It’s fresh milk, drink it."
"I don’t drink milk."
"Then what do you want to drink?"
"Coffee."
Hearing his childish words, Jasmine Yale couldn’t help but laugh out of frustration, but the next moment, she straightened her expression, with seriousness and focus in her eyes.
"President, you know better than anyone what you should or shouldn’t eat with your bad stomach. You’re not a three or four-year-old child anymore, you need to take care of yourself and if you don’t, you’re the one who’ll suffer. Last time it was just an injection, but what about next time?"
"Jasmine Yale, aren’t you annoying." Sylvan Cheney frowned, looking at her, "Why are you meddling with me? Huh?"
"Because I... forget it." Jasmine Yale shook her head, "I don’t know what to do with you."
All the lines she had prepared before coming to the office, she had forgotten.
Sylvan Cheney was stubborn, no one knew better than her.
"President, I’m not here to argue with you today, I’m here to thank you. Business is business, thank you for keeping my position at the company. Starting today, I’m officially on leave."
"Are you here to gloat?" Sylvan Cheney glared at her.
Jasmine Yale found it increasingly ridiculous.
How could Sylvan Cheney behave like a child now?
Gloating... well, being on a six-month paid leave does give one something to gloat about!
"President, I’ll hand over the amusement park project to Assistant Yuvan." Jasmine Yale said.
She initially wanted to handle this project herself, but now it seemed unnecessary.
"Alright."
"The milk... if you really don’t want to drink it, just throw it away, but don’t drink it cold." Jasmine Yale glanced at Sylvan Cheney, her voice soft, "I’m going on leave, if there’s nothing else, then... see you in six months."
Sylvan Cheney’s hand stopped organizing the files, his eyes flickered with light like a vast ocean under the moon, glistening with sparkling waves, unfathomable and boundless.
Six months.
For a moment, the office fell silent.
The air cooled by several degrees.
Jasmine Yale placed her hands on the table, sometimes loosening, sometimes clenching.
An indescribable feeling spread through her heart, even her heartbeat quickened.
For a moment, she held her breath waiting for Sylvan Cheney’s response, but he remained silent, only his long lashes trembled slightly.
