Fated to the Triplet Alphas-Chapter 22: Losing Control

Chapter 22
~Xavier’s POV~
The disciplinary room smelled faintly of newly polished wood and soap, and my mind supplied the rest—restraint, rules, and the thin line between authority and chaos.
Troy sat across the table with his arms crossed, posture lazy, and arrogance dripping from every careless movement. He did not look the least bit remorseful. He looked rather... bored.
Without doing any deep investigation on him, I could see his whole life painted on his face—arrogant, spoiled, a sperm mistake of a haughty, rich man whose assets were going down the drain.
That alone tightened something ugly in my chest.
Professor Halden cleared his throat. "This hearing concerns repeated misconduct, harassment of fellow students, and yesterday’s incident involving verbal provocation and disruption of school activities in class."
Troy scoffed. "That’s exaggerated."
I flexed my jaw and said nothing, though my fingers curled slowly against my thigh beneath the table.
Another lecturer spoke, Professor Damon. "You were warned before, Troy. Multiple times."
"And I served detention," Troy shot back. "What more do you want? Blood?"
His words landed wrong. It irked my wolf, making Ace stir restlessly.
As the committee droned on, my attention drifted. My thoughts betrayed me, pulling my focus where it had no business going.
Jade.
The way she had stiffened earlier that day when Adrian stood too close. The way Adrian had smiled, hopeful, unaware, as if he had every right to look at her like that. I had noticed. I hated that I had noticed.
I clenched my jaw harder.
"I maintain," Troy continued loudly, dragging me back, "that this is all being blown out of proportion because certain students are being treated like fragile little glass dolls when they are nothing but cheap whores and should be treated that way."
My eyes snapped to him. "Watch your tone."
Troy turned his head slowly, lips curling. "Or what, Professor?"
The room went still. For a second, no one moved or spoke.
Then, Professor Halden interjected quickly. "Enough. Troy, given your history, the board is recommending suspension—"
"No," I said sharply, and every head turned toward me.
Halden frowned. "Professor Xavier—"
"He should be expelled," I said calmly, though something feral simmered beneath my voice. "This is not an isolated incident. He has a documented pattern of intimidation and humiliation toward other students."
Troy let out an ugly laugh. "Oh, this is personal now?"
"Sit down," another lecturer warned.
But Troy leaned forward instead, eyes gleaming. "You know, it’s funny. All this concern over bullying, whereas they are doing the same thing?" He tsked. "Makes you wonder what kind of examples the staff are setting." 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
I felt it then, the shift and that unmistakable pull of my wolf surging forward.
"Tread carefully," I warned.
Troy grinned wider. "Or what? Will you fail me? Or maybe you’ll take me into a private room like you do with your favourite little student and fuck Jade senseless? Well, perhaps she’ll give you what she never gave me."
The room exploded. I moved before reason could catch up.
I was on him in a second, fingers fisting into his collar, slamming him forward so hard the desk cracked beneath the impact. Bone met wood with a sickening crunch, and Troy screamed in response.
Blood poured instantly from his nose as I held him there, my hands now on the back of his neck. "Say her name again, and you will not leave this room on your feet," I growled.
Gasps echoed around us.
"Professor Xavier!" Professor Halden hollered. "Let go of him!"
I released him abruptly, stepping back as Troy collapsed into his chair, clutching his face and laughing through the blood.
"Look at that," Troy wheezed. "A teacher just assaulted a student. On school grounds. Guess we know who’s really getting expelled now."
My wolf roared inside me, claws scraping against my control. Ace pushed forward, and I knew my eyes had turned red from my reflection on the broken table.
"He spoke about our mate," Ace snarled, losing control of his restraint. "And you held back instead of ripping out his tongue from his throat."
I inhaled slowly, forcing the beast down. My hands trembled, but I shoved them into my pockets to maintain some restraint, too.
"Xavier, that was uncalled for," Professor Mira chided me. I did not spare any of them a glance and looked away when suddenly the door pushed open.
Her purple palazzo trousers and black chiffon long-sleeve shirt first caught my attention when she entered, before her wavy blonde hair, which fell over her shoulders, and then the cold look in her sea-blue eyes.
Principal Vale stepped in, her sharp gaze taking in the cracked desk, the blood, the frozen lecturers, and Troy’s smug expression.
Her shoulders slumped, and for a second, I could see the disapproval in her eyes. "I see."
No one spoke a word. I could already tell what was going on in their minds.
"Troy," she said calmly, "you are suspended for one month. You will complete community service and reflect on whether this institution is where you belong."
Troy’s smile twitched, but he said nothing.
She turned to me next. "Professor Xavier. My office. Now."
She left without another word.
Troy chuckled softly as I turned to go. "Guess your little outburst didn’t work after all."
Ace’s aura rose in waves, filling the room as I stopped.
I slammed my palm down on the desk, the sound echoing like thunder. Troy flinched as I leaned in, my eyes glowing faintly with alpha warning.
"You should thank every god you know that my brothers are not here," I said quietly. "If they had heard what you implied, you would have lost more than your dignity. Possibly a jaw. Maybe a limb or two. By then, our expulsion would be the least of your worries as compared to your life."
Troy went pale.
I straightened and walked out, ignoring the consequences I could no longer outrun. If the principal wanted my resignation, I was happy to offer it and take Jade away from here.
But to have scum like him utter such to my mate... and worse, to the Lycan King’s daughter, then... the whole school be damned.
—
When I stepped into Principal Vale’s office, she was standing by the window with her back to me, hands clasped behind her as she stared out at the academy grounds. The door closed softly behind me.
"Sit," she said without turning.
I made my way over to one of the two chairs in front of her desk and took my seat.
For a long minute, silence was all that greeted me. I waited for her reprimand, or the famous disappointment lecture, or even the administrative consequences that followed such an outburst and misconduct.
Instead, she turned slowly to face me.
"I understand," she said simply.
I arched a brow despite myself. "You... You understand?"
Principal Vale nodded once. Her expressions were suspiciously too calm for a school head who witnessed what happened.
"Anyone angry that a mate defended his mate is either foolish or lying to themselves. That said," she added, walking toward her desk, her presence suddenly becoming overwhelming, "it could have been handled better."
