Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Don’t Call Me Bro, I Can’t Take It

"Jade, no!"

Ivy was terrified that Howard Yeats would find out where she lived. She hurriedly grabbed Jade’s arm and shook her head.

"Sister-in-law, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. I won’t tell my brother that you and Nicole are here."

Jade gave Ivy a reassuring look.

Chantel looked painfully at Jade and Ivy’s "performance." She didn’t believe this woman really had Howard Yeats’s phone number.

Soon, Jade dialed the number.

"Brother, I need to ask you something. This model named Chantel, is she your woman?"

Jade asked very directly.

"Who is Chantel?"

Howard Yeats couldn’t remember anyone named Chantel. He frowned and said, "Jade, stop messing around outside, mingling with shady people. Get back home."

Jade wanted to retort to Howard Yeats. How dare he talk about her? If Howard Yeats hadn’t gotten involved with a woman like Chantel, would she and her sister-in-law be suffering?

"Brother, hold on. I’ll put you on speaker so this delusional woman can wake up."

Chantel smirked mockingly, "Really? You’re calling your own brother? Do you want your brother to help you lie to me? That’s hilarious."

Once the speaker was on, Chantel’s familiar voice came through, and her smile froze.

This cold voice was too familiar to her, so familiar it made her tremble because of an incident that she’d never forget and was utterly terrified of. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

When Ivy heard Howard Yeats’s voice, her face turned pale, and she didn’t dare to make a sound.

But she forgot about Nicole beside her.

"Uncle Howard, Nicole really misses you!" Nicole couldn’t contain her excitement, ran to Jade, stood on tiptoes, and spoke to the phone, "Uncle Howard, there’s a really bad woman here! She said you’re her backing and that you’d kill Auntie Yeats and Mommy for her."

"Nicole~"

Ivy felt like the sky was collapsing on her head. How could she have imagined that this little tyke would betray her?

"Mommy, Nicole absolutely doesn’t believe Uncle Howard is that kind of person." Nicole tilted her head as if trying to prove something.

Ivy was about to faint.

That’s it, it’s all over now.

Silence came from the other end of the phone. The kind of silence that made not just Ivy and Chantel but even Jade feel a bit scared.

After a long while.

Howard Yeats finally spoke, "No, I wouldn’t."

Nicole cheered, "I knew it! Uncle Howard is the best uncle in the world."

Howard Yeats’s deep voice came again, "Nicole, do you miss Uncle Howard?"

Without hesitation, Nicole said, "Yes."

Howard Yeats said, "Alright then, Nicole, you can’t go anywhere right now. Wait here for Uncle Howard. Uncle Howard will be there in twenty minutes."

Nicole’s youthful voice cheered again, "Great! Uncle Howard is coming to see Nicole. Nicole will wait for Uncle Howard."

At this moment, Ivy was as anxious as if she were on hot coals. She desperately wished Jade would hang up the phone immediately and take her and her daughter away from here. She was afraid of meeting Howard Yeats.

Following Howard Yeats’s instructions, Jade turned off the speaker and took Howard’s call.

After ending the call, she gave Ivy a wry smile, "Sister-in-law, I’m sorry, but you can’t run away this time. My brother gave me an ultimatum. If I let you run away, he’d break my legs."

Ivy looked at Jade hopelessly.

Jade was so good to her and Nicole; she couldn’t let Jade face the storm of Howard Yeats alone. This was her fault, to begin with.

Time passed quickly.

Howard Yeats soon arrived at Ivy’s place. His tall figure entered, and he immediately noticed Ivy, who was bowing her head like a quail.

"Uncle Howard."

Nicole ran up to Howard Yeats. He picked her up and slowly walked to Ivy’s side, his peripheral vision catching Ivy lowering her head even further. He laughed coldly.

"Brother, hehe." Jade smiled obsequiously.

"Don’t call me brother; I can’t bear it." Howard Yeats didn’t even glance at Jade. He wondered what had gotten into her lately, meddling in his private affairs? Turns out she was colluding with Ivy.

Truly his good sister.

Chantel had already shrunk her body and head under the blanket, trembling continuously. Without even lifting the blanket, she knew it was Howard Yeats who had come.

She was doomed.

Chantel thought mournfully. She couldn’t be blamed for thinking this way. Last time, Howard Yeats had severely punished her. Now that she’d offended Howard Yeats’s sister, wouldn’t he kill her?

"Nicole, are you hungry? How about letting Jade take you out for some dessert?"

Nicole had no doubt that Howard Yeats had any ill intentions. She nodded with a smile, "Okay, Uncle Howard is really nice."

"Nicole..." Ivy looked at Nicole, wanting to say something.

Howard Yeats cast a cold gaze over, sneering, "If you want to eat, let Jade pack it for you. I think what I have to do next is something you definitely don’t want Nicole to see."

"Brother..."

Howard Yeats interrupted Jade coldly, "Shut up, make sure you take good care of Nicole."

Jade dared not say anything, taking Nicole with a slightly worried look at Ivy.

"Actually, sister-in-law, she..." She’s pregnant.

"Jade, don’t say anything else. Take Nicole for some dessert!"

Ivy feared Jade would offend Howard Yeats again. She was also afraid Howard Yeats might lose his temper in front of Nicole. Nicole thought so highly of Howard Yeats. She didn’t want to ruin the image of a good uncle in Nicole’s heart.

Jade had no choice but to take Nicole for some dessert.

After they left.

Howard Yeats pinched Ivy’s chin, "You’re pretty smart."

"It hurts~" His grip was not gentle, making tears well up in Ivy’s eyes from the pain.

"Hurt? You know what pain is?" Howard Yeats exerted more force, wishing he could crush her chin. He had told her not to let him see her again. He now just wanted to destroy this detestable woman with his own hands.

Seeing Ivy’s pain didn’t make Howard Yeats feel much satisfaction, only annoyance, especially seeing how Ivy seemed to have gained weight after leaving, her skin glowing and plump. It made him want to strangle her.

Life without him is comfortable and easy, isn’t it?

Looks like he’s been making a fool of himself, suffering for nothing.

Howard Yeats now felt like his trips to the bar for a drink were a joke.

Ivy’s tears fell onto Howard Yeats’s hand, and as if burned, he let go of her chin, deeply annoyed with himself for caring about her pain.

Howard Yeats took out a handkerchief, wiping the tears from the back of his hand, "So dirty."

The spots where Ivy had been pinched by him turned red, and she sniffled, gently touching the sore place with her fingers. It truly hurt.

Howard Yeats discarded the handkerchief and suddenly flipped the blanket on the bed.

"Mr. Yeats, I know I was wrong. Please don’t hit me, don’t hit me." Chantel was terrified, crying and begging for mercy.

"Who said I would hit you? Come over here."
