Chapter 1966: Godhead

Fierce, murderous intent locked onto Su Yi like ten thousand knives.

Off in the distance, Jiang Tai’e smiled radiantly, but his grin was utterly murderous.

Su Yi raised his hand and beckoned. A six-inch swordffin floated into view, billowing with chaos energy.

Jiang Tai’e’s pupilsnstricted. “Hah? We haven’t even begun, but you already plan to use an Epoch Treasure. It seems…. You’re quite afraid of me. Is that right?”

Su Yi stretched out and flicked his fingers. The six-inch swordffin shot into the distant sky, and hovered beneath the dome of heaven, unmoving.

A moment later, he said calmly, “You’ve misunderstood. They call this sword the Sword of Proximity. It’s one of the Nine Mysteries of Chaos, and it can disregard distance to slay even faraway foes as if they were close at hand.”

Jiang Tai’e’s eyes flashed, and he sighed, “A wondrous treasure.”

Su Yintinued, “I’m merely showing it to you as a warning. Once the fighting begins, so long as you don’t run away, I won’t use this treasure against you. But if you try to flee, I will be forced to stop you.”

Jiang Tai’e’s smile faded, and his brow gradually furrowed. Only now did he understand.

Su Yi had taken out the Sword of Proximity because he was afraid. Not that Jiang Tai'euld kill him, but that he’d run away!

He obviously thought Jiang Tai’e was no match for him!

“Hahaha!” Jiang Tai’e threw back his head and burst into laughter. “Just as I expected from you, Wang Ye. You’re always this tyrannical and domineering. It makes others long for nothing more than to shatter your pride and trample you beneath their feet. Still, deep within my heart, I must admit that you’re an opponent worthy of my respect.”

He pointed to the distant six-inch swordffin. “Once I’ve killed you, I’ll bury that sword with you!”

“Oh,” said Su Yi. “I’m looking forward to it.”

Jiang Tai’e didn’t waste any more time talking. He charged at Su Yi, fingers forming seals, and pressed down on the air.

Boom!!!

Terrifying silver light shone like the blazing sun, ndensing into a palm imprint that bore down on the sky.

Heaven and earth swayed, and the landscape dimmed. This was true divine majesty. That punchntained the power of a true god, and the natural order of the Divine Dao!

At the same time, Su Yi charged too. His sleeves billowed around him, and his vital energy boiled as he swung his bare fist like a sword.

It was a simple punch, plain and direct, but when it landed…

Boom!

It was as if a deity had shot the sun. Su Yi’s fist force bore a hole through the sky, and when itllided with Jiang Tai’e’s fist imprint, it seemed to overturn heaven and earth and unleash a maelstrom of all-empassing destruction.

A terrifying flood of power erupted from the point of impact, making the surrounding skies wail. The mountains quivered on all sides.

This was the Epoch Battlefield. Everything here, from the mountains and rivers to the individual blades of grass, was a manifestation of the Immortal Realm’s source energies. Everything was imparably durable.

Not even Great Realm expertsuld shake the mountains here.

Yet now, the mere aftermath of Su Yi and Jiang Tai’e’s clash caused such an enormous disturbance. It was obvious how terrifying their destructive power was.

Bang!

A rain of light scattered, and divine majesty swept outward. Su Yi was suddenly forced several hundred feet back, and his Daoist topknot came undone. It suddenly looked a bit messy.

Even his blood and qi churned.

In starkntrast, Jiang Tai’e’s aloof, proud figure hadn’t so much as budged. His divine majesty was as vast and grand as an ocean, and he seemed utterly unshakeable.

But Jiang Tai’e frowned, and off in the distance, Su Yi grinned.

“You can actually withstand my true divine power? Wang Ye, you’re… far more terrifying than in your past life!” Jiang Tai’e sighed, making no effort to disguise his amazement.

Earlier, he’d heard rumors that Su Yiuld fight demigods. The rumors had astonished the entire Immortal Realm.

But now, Jiang Tai’e realized that demigods were now nothing to Su Yi. He’d long since left them in the dust. Su Yi was now strong enough to fight even a newly minted Lesser God!

“Your divine power is actually a bit weaker than I predicted,” said Su Yi. “I believe you’ve yet to stabilize your foundations in the Divine Dao, and your powers of the Grand Dao have yet to fuse into the Epoch Law you’ve mastered.”

Jiang Tai’e laughed. “Sure, but it’s more than enough to kill you!”

Boom!

His clothing billowed around him, and he shot through the air, quick as if he’d teleported. In the blink of an eye, he was directly above Su Yi.

He crossed his arms as if holding Yin and supporting Yang. Theyndensed into a mysterious Daoist seal, which he swung ruthlessly, like a deity holding the sun aloft only to slam it into the human world below.

Tyrannical and explosive!

Su Yi didn’t retreat. On thentrary, he took a step forward, swung his fist, and met the attack head-on.

His power was vastly differentmpared to their last exchange. Now, when he threw a punch, arcs of sword qi flew through the air with imposing force, and the clanging hum of a sword rang out without end.

Terrifying sword qi rippeduntless tears open in the sky, but Jiang Tai’e neutralized it all.

This was the founder of the Church of Supreme Oneness, one of the hegemons of the Immortal Realm prior to the Age of Fallen Immortals. Back then, experts of his caliberuld beunted on the fingers of a single hand. Now, he’d proven his Dao and bme a god. His strength far transcended the Three Stages of the Great Realm.

He was a true Lesser God. Howuld his divine might possibly be ordinary?

In the blink of an eye, he forced Su Yi back ten times over!

“I can tell that you’re testing my power. You want to see just how strong the divine power at my disposal is,” Jiang Tai’e said with a laugh. “But isn’t that true for me, too? I can use you to see how powerful I’ve bme!”

Boom!

Divine flames erupted from his entire body, and his attacks intensified. A single flip of the palm, and the landscape swayed and the skyllapsed. He was like an axe through bamboo, blocking and crushing each and every one of Su Yi’s attacks!

But against Jiang Tai’e’s expectations, every time he tried to take Su Yi down, the latter's momentum increased, and he dodged each lethal strike by a hair.

Jiang Tai’euldn’t help but frown. Howuld he be so unreasonably strong in the Great Unity Stage?

“If this is all the power you’ve grasped after achieving divinity, you’re sure to die today,” said Su Yi as he was forced back once more.

Jiang Tai’e was stunned. It seemed ridiculous. Su Yi had been at a disadvantage right from the start, yet he spoke with the utmostnfidence and force!

But then, Su Yi straightened his back, and….

Boom!

It was as if a river wereursing through him, rumbling like thunder as his imposing aura visibly soared.

Every last inch of his skin shone with the charm of the Dao, and endless sword intent boiled and churned in antinuous, self-perpetuating cycle.

When his eyes moved, the wind and clouds shifted.

Jiang Tai’e’s eyelids twitched, and his heart shook. He was holding so much back when we fought earlier!?

Before heuld wrap his head around it, Su Yi stepped through the sky and attacked explosively.

With a wave of his hand, sword qi came crashing down, like the river of stars pouring onto the world below. It manifested all manner of unbelievable and strange phenomena.

Jiang Tai’e waved his sleeve and met it head-on.

Boom!

It was as if the sky fell and the earth caved in.

Jiang Tai’e managed to block, but he was forced backward, and he staggered on his feet, his face alternating white and green.

His eyes filled with disbelief. This was the first time he’d been shaken since the battle began.

And the terrifying power within this slash made his heart shake. Su Yi had shaken him, a true Lesser God! How terrifying was that?

“You… sure know how to defy expectations…”Jiang Tai’e took a deep breath, and his entire body erupted with firelight. “Even so, you won’t get the chance to turn this around!”

Kcch!

He suddenly raised his right hand and formed a seal.

A moment later, untless dazzling silver flames descended from the heavens, transformed into stars, and manifested a vast, boundless starry sky.

Jiang Tai’e was like the ruler of the stars. He raised the endless void of outer space, and attacked explosively.

“Now this is interesting!” The depths of Su Yi’s gaze blazed with the will to fight as he leaped forward. In a flash, he’d sent thousands of streaks of sword qi flying through the air.

The entire stretch of sky was thrown into upheaval. Everything was in chaos.

It was in almost every sense a battle between gods. Countless stars destroyed the void, rumbling and booming like thunder. Firelight swept out in all directions as if enraged.

Sword qinnected heaven and earth, splitting stars, severing the sky, and flying about. There was nowhere ituld not reach, and nothing ituld not break!

Mere moments later.

The stars filling the sky had shattered, and the endless sword qi had dispersed.

Su Yi’s robes were in tatters, and blood dripped from therner of his mouth.

Jiang Tai’e’s robes were bloodstained, and his hair hung loose.

But their auras and momentums had only grown all the more terrifying. They looked at each other, but neither wasted any time talking. Instead, they attacked once more, almost simultaneously!

Boom!

Jiang Tai’e’s sleeves billowed around him. He empassed the entire starry domain, as if he held the universe in his sleeves. No, it was even more terrifying than that.

Su Yi used his fingers as a sword, his attacks shaking the heavens.

The mere aftermath of their battleuld have destroyed most Great Profound Stage experts with ease.

“Die!” Jiang Tai’e’s murderous intent boiled over, and his imposing aura was suddenly unparalleled and imparably domineering, unparalleled between heaven and earth.

But Su Yi wasn’t at all inferior. If anything, his imposing aura was greater!

His wounds had gradually piled on, but every time he attacked, it was with greater force than before. Jiang Tai’e was injured too!

This was turning into a drawn-out, fierce battle.

This was Su Yi’s first time fighting a true god in this incarnation, and his will to fight had ignitedmpletely. His essence, qi, and spirit boiled as if they’d caught ablaze. This was satisfying to the extreme!

As for his wounds? They meant nothing at all. He wasn’t afraid to die. Whyncern himself with a handful of injuries?

Gradually, bothmbatants’ wounds piled on, increasing in severity.

Jiang Tai’e’s clothes were originally white, and Su Yi’s robes were originally blue, but now, both were red!

But neither of them cared.

This was a shocking, brutal battle. Su Yi was forceful and domineering, but so was Jiang Tai’e!

Ultimately, the two of them had been enemies for a long, long time, and they deeply understood each other’s dispositions.

This, when they fought, each strike was more ruthless than the one before!

Suddenly, Jiang Tai’e burst into laughter. “Wang Ye! Divinity is a natural, insurmountable barrier. Howuld you possibly oveme it? Let me show you the strongest power at my disposal now that I’ve bme a god!”

Boom!

His body erupted withuntless beams of divine light, and a divine platform as resplendent as the sun appeared behind him. Countless arcs of divine light interwove around it, forming a perfectly spherical barrier.

Silver divine flames blazed atop the platform, and the platform itself radiated endless, immeasurable light. It was indistinct, but a silver divine lotus appeared reflected above it.

A Godhead!

The source of a god’s power!
