Chapter 876: 875 Don’t threaten me with Ranran

If Mo Xiuchen hadn’t left MS Group a few months ago and hadn’t mercifully spared Mo Jingteng at the time, destroying MS Group wouldn’t have been difficult.

After all, he had been managing it for ten years. Although his departure had dealt a heavy blow to MS Group, Mo Jingteng had seized the opportunity to take full control of all the actual power.

“I told him before.” Mo Xiuchen said sarcastically, “With his methods, he would definitely stop me and Ranran from being together, I didn’t want to give him any chance, so I had to strike first.”

“Well, although it’s not the best timing right now, your thinking is correct, and Ah Feng and I will do our best to support you.”

Qin Mu agreed readily.

Last time, he had also promised his mother that once Xiuchen had dealt with the affairs of MS Group and Haochen didn’t need his worry, he would return to A City and accept his mother’s arrangement, even getting married and having children.

Thinking of this, a hint of desolation tinted the depths of Qin Mu’s eyes. Xiuchen’s urgency in dealing with Mo Jingteng wasn’t just about not giving Mo Jingteng a chance to hurt Ranran.

Ranran must have returned to his side.

That sentence, he didn’t ask, and Mo Xiuchen didn’t mention.

After hanging up the phone, he suddenly felt very lonely. He had been very tired today and had wanted to sleep earlier, but now, his sleepiness had mysteriously vanished.

Qin Mu stepped out of the bedroom, sat down on the living room sofa, picked up the beer from the coffee table, popped the cap, and, skipping the glass, tilted his head back and guzzled directly from the bottle.

This was the beer Luo Haofeng had bought and not finished that night, three bottles were left. Because of his health, he had always avoided alcohol.

That night Luo Haofeng had urged him to drink, but he had refused, not because he thought he couldn’t drink, but because remembering what Ranran had said that evening made him lose the desire to drink.

It had been a long time since he had drunk. A few sips in, all he felt was bitterness. His lips curled up, but it didn’t form a smile, rather a melancholic curve.

He knew he shouldn’t be moved yet couldn’t control his own heart from being swayed by her emotions. He knew he shouldn’t love, yet always threw caution to the wind. He knew they were a pair destined by the heavens, that no matter the trials, they would ultimately be together happily, yet upon knowing the outcome, he couldn’t help but feel bitter.

Qin Mu, this time, you really should let go.

He took another swig, letting the bitterness spread throughout his heart. Ranran had already returned to Xiuchen’s side. From now on, she wouldn’t need him anymore.

One bottle of beer didn’t alleviate his pain in the slightest. He opened a second one and drank it in one go. Qin Mu felt his sadness deepen. He pursed his lips and picked up the last bottle to open it.

From outside, a knocking sound came.

“Ah Mu, open the door.”

It was Luo Haofeng’s voice. Qin Mu frowned slightly, set down the bottle, stood up, and walked over to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Luo Haofeng immediately frowned, “Ah Mu, have you been drinking?” He asked, then glanced past him into the living room.

“Is there something you need?”

Qin Mu counter-questioned, standing tall in the doorway, not intending to let him in.

Luo Haoran narrowed his eyes, his romantic eyes probing Qin Mu, “What do you mean, Ah Mu? Are you hiding a woman inside and don’t dare to let me in?”

“That’s something only you would do.”

Qin Mu gave him a cold look, released the door handle, and turned to walk back to the sofa.

Luo Haofeng chuckled, closed the door behind him, and followed him to sit down on the sofa. Seeing Qin Mu opening a bottle of alcohol, his gaze swept over the two other empty bottles, then he snatched the newly opened bottle from his hand, smiling, “Ah Mu, you’ve already had two bottles, this one is mine.”

“Give it to me,” Qin Mu’s eyes turned cold, his tone deepened.

Luo Haofeng wasn’t afraid of him. He stood up and avoided his reaching hand, cheerily saying, “Ah Mu, I bought these bottles of alcohol, and that night I let you drink, you refused. So why, now you are secretly drinking my alcohol?”

Qin Mu frowned, his gaze dark as he stared at Luo Haofeng, “Ah Feng, give me the alcohol, and go buy some more.”

As he spoke, he pulled open the drawer in front of him, took out a hundred-yuan bill, and threw it on the coffee table. Tonight, he wanted to get drunk.

Luo Haofeng blinked surprisedly, then shook his head, “I’m not going, Ah Mu, what upset you? You want me to buy you a hundred yuan worth of beer, wouldn’t that kill you?”

“Enough talk,” Qin Mu rebuked, displeased.

His handsome brows were tightly furrowed, his face gloomy, his eyes sharply fixed on him.

“No way, your body hasn’t fully recovered yet. The last time, Ranran said, she didn’t allow you to drink.”

As Qin Mu heard him say ‘Ranran,’ his expression slightly stiffened. That night, Wen Ran’s gentle and concerned voice echoed in his ears. A streak of pain slid across the depths of his downturned eyes. He pursed his lips, grabbed the banknote on the coffee table, and stood up to go buy it himself.

“Ah Mu.”

Luo Haofeng’s expression changed as he instinctively reached out to catch Qin Mu.

Qin Mu turned his head, his gaze coldly fixed on him, “let go, I’ll go buy it downstairs myself.”

Luo Haofeng swiftly blocked his path, still gripping the bottle tightly, gently persuading, “Ah Mu, you’ve already had two bottles, don’t drink anymore tonight.”

“It’s just a few bottles of beer, I won’t get drunk,” Qin Mu pushed Luo Haofeng aside and strode towards the door. He could hold his liquor well, indeed three to five bottles wouldn’t get him drunk, but tonight, he truly wanted to get drunk. If he went down himself, he certainly wouldn’t buy beer.

Seeing that he couldn’t stop him, Luo Haofeng couldn’t help but darken his face and said sternly, “Ah Mu, if you dare drink again, I’m calling Ranran.”

As he spoke, he actually took out his phone, pretending to dial.

Qin Mu, already at the door, heard his words, drew back his hand that was about to open the door, turned his head, and looked at Luo Haofeng with a cold gaze. A moment later, the gloom on his face was replaced by a bitter smile,

“Ah Feng, don’t threaten me with Ranran.”

His low voice was tinged with a hint of melancholy. Luo Haofeng listened, his heart tightening as he gripped his phone, “Ah Mu, if you’re really suffering, I’ll accompany you to the gym to vent, but you can’t drink to drown your sorrows.”

Qin Mu was momentarily stunned, then laughed.

That smile, seeing it made Luo Haofeng feel very uncomfortable.

Before he could think of any comforting words to say, Qin Mu had already started speaking in an apparently casual tone, yet filled with certainty and sharpness. Despite having downed two bottles, it did not affect his keen insight and judgment, “Did Mo Xiuchen call you?”

Had Mo Xiuchen found out?

Seeing that he had guessed correctly, Luo Haofeng did not deny it, nodded, and explained gently, “Mo Xiuchen called me just now. Ranran has already gone home with him. Ah Mu, why must you torment yourself like this?”

The smile remained on Qin Mu’s lips, only now, it was filled with too much bitterness and helplessness, touching anyone who saw it.

“I don’t want to either, but Ah Feng, can you control your own heart from thinking about Bai Xiaoxiao? Maybe, one day, I can truly forget, but, right now, I can’t.”
