Flash Marriage: In His Eyes-Chapter 241: Amythyst Eyes
–Lore–
I excitedly set up my workstation. My room was big enough—I just had to shove the bed all the way into the corner. Monitors went up, positioned away from both the door and the window. I drilled. Loudly. Ruthlessly. Completely ruining Alyssa’s sleep.
She knocked twice.
I ignored it. I was in work mode.
"Lore!" Alyssa finally barged in. I turned my head and switched off the drill. "For fuck’s sake! I need to sleep."
"But I’m not done!"
"I don’t give a fuck about your gaming setup."
Wow. She really thought this was a gaming rig.
"It’s not a gaming setup," I said, but she just rolled her eyes. "Wait—before you go, can you reach that monitor?"
"Where?" She scanned the room and pointed at the biggest one.
"That one?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
She reached for it anyway. One second a raging lioness, the next suddenly helpful. Her moods really flip on a dime. She dragged the monitor toward me as we unboxed it, then helped me mount it. That thing needed two hands.
The whole night? Alyssa helped me set everything up. When I finished mine, I handed her the spare monitor and helped her fix her study table too.
"Wow, you’re right!" She snapped her fingers. "It’ll be way easier for me to work."
"Since you mostly design art or whatever, you’ll need a drawing pad here." I pointed at the empty space. "Actually... we need to change your table. Longer. Adjustable. Something you can flip for your drawing pad."
She crossed her arms, thinking.
"Hmm. Yeah. Do that." She pointed at me like I was hired help.
I pulled out my phone and contacted a furniture customization business—one of our Pawns. Livana funded them. I took a photo of Alyssa’s table and sent instructions.
"They’ll come tomorrow to take measurements."
"Re—really? That fast?"
I winked.
"Let’s just say they work for my boss."
"Well, fine." She shoved me out of her room. "Now that you ruined my sleep, you owe me. And now I need to sleep."
I walked back to my room and shut the door. Finally, I connected my customized PC, making sure it sat in the compartment under the table—proper ventilation, locked in place.
I logged in and smiled. Perfect.
I messaged Livana. She replied instantly. I sent the photos I took earlier. She gave a thumbs-up.
Satisfied, I locked my computer and crawled into bed.
I needed sleep. Badly.
"Lore!"
I lifted my head.
"Lore!" I felt a hit on my back.
"I’ve been calling you for three minutes! I thought you were dead!" Alyssa’s annoying voice echoed as she opened my blackout curtains.
"Fuck!" I shoved my face into the pillow. "Close it!"
"Are you a vampire or something?" She opened it halfway. "Your room is still a mess!"
I groaned.
"I need more sleep."
"But it’s already ten in the evening and Mom prepared breakfast. We’re going to the mansion!"
"Oh." I waved her off. "I’m not going."
"Little Sky is there. And the twins."
I sat up.
"Really?"
She nodded. "Yeah. And why are you naked?"
I glanced down. Pajama pants. No shirt.
"I’m not naked!"
"Anyway, go down for breakfast."
She walked off. Always on the move. Fully dressed. Makeup done—even at home. Do girls ever power down? Terrifying.
Once I was dressed, I went downstairs and sat across from Alyssa. Full breakfast. Perfect. Aunt Amiliee handed me a coffee. I thanked her and sipped it—black, no sugar. Enough to wake the dead.
At the mansion, Alyssa immediately greeted the twins and Sky, who were already screaming and jumping. She’s clearly their favorite aunt.
Then Sky saw me.
He let out a high-pitched scream and started wiggling in Alyssa’s arms. I rushed over and scooped him up. Tossed him into the air and caught him. He screamed louder—pure joy.
Zendaya and Zayvier lined up next. I did the same to them. Sky raised his arms again, demanding more.
I glanced at Alyssa. She was glaring.
"What?" I said, continuing to toss them one by one until my back screamed in protest.
"Alright, I’m out!" I announced, slumping onto the sofa.
Damon approached. I handed him back his black card. He slid it into his wallet.
"Did you have fun?" Damon asked.
"Oh, I did. I set everything up all night." I leaned back. "By the way, I’ll be installing more cameras around the apartment. So the cost of our agreement will exceed—"
"It’s fine." He sat beside me, leaving a meter of space. "And Paul Johnson?"
"I already stopped him from proposing. But he’ll be persistent." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Hm." Damon nodded. "What classes are you taking?"
"Just a few. I’m also taking some of her subjects. Arts and whatnots."
"Good luck with that." Damon chuckled. "We only let her take those courses because she’s our only girl."
"Understood." I yawned, grabbed a cushion, and leaned against the sofa arm.
The moment I closed my eyes, I drifted off—out cold, without even realizing it.
–Laura–
I honestly didn’t know who this guy was.
But I’d seen him a lot.
Sky was ridiculously comfortable with him. The twins too. Even Alyssa had decorated his face with makeup like he was a human canvas. The young man was sprawled across the sofa, dead asleep, snoring like he paid rent. One cheek was glittery. One eyebrow was suspiciously pink.
"Let’s go?" Damon asked.
"Zendy! Zay-Zay!" I called, clapping my hands.
The twins immediately bolted toward me. Sky, meanwhile, toddled over to the sleeping boy and smacked his face.
Hard.
"What—?" The guy jolted awake, yawning as he rubbed his cheek. "Oh. It’s you." He patted Sky’s head like this was completely normal.
"Come on, guys! Let’s go!" Damien called from the door.
"Can I come?" Alyssa asked hopefully.
I glanced at Damon.
"Oh, this trip’s just for them," Damon said, patting Alyssa’s head. "Stay home and practice your martial arts."
I watched my husband scoop up the twins, then turned back toward the mysterious sofa-sleeper.
"Hey," I smiled sweetly. "What’s your name again?"
"Hi, Liva’s sister." He sat up straight immediately and offered his hand. "I’m Lore."
I shook it.
"You work for my sister?"
"Yes," he nodded, then added a wink. "Louie’s my brother."
I froze for a fraction of a second before nodding slowly.
Oh.
So Lore wasn’t just Alyssa’s random personal trainer. His role was... bigger. Much bigger.
"It’s a secret," he whispered dramatically, pressing a finger to his lips. "Okay?"
"Alright," I chuckled. "I won’t tell."
I stepped back. "Anyway, I’ll see you around."
Lore nodded as I turned and headed outside.
I climbed into the van — huge, spacious, perfectly built for a family this big. The twins were already singing nonsense songs. I sat beside Damon and laced my fingers with his.
"I don’t know where you’re taking us," I said lightly, "but it better be fun."
Damon chuckled under his breath. "I doubt that."
"What did you say?" I snapped my head toward him.
"Nothing."
I rolled my eyes. Sophia and Kai were in the front seat, giggling and flirting shamelessly. I sneered at them before turning back to Damon and giving him the look.
He immediately cringed.
"No."
"I didn’t say anything," I protested, reaching up to turn his face toward me.
"I know you," he said flatly. "And I won’t allow it."
"I always get what I want," I whispered.
He pushed me back gently into my seat and dropped a cushion on my lap.
"Settle down, my lioness. This will be a long ride."
I smirked and slid my hand toward his lap. He caught it, chuckling, and placed it firmly back where it belonged.
During the drive, the twins fell asleep. Sky too, sprawled in the back seat, clutching a piece of bread like it was priceless treasure. I giggled and snapped photos. He refused to let go even in his sleep.
"Damon," I whispered.
He opened one eye. I pointed at Sky.
He chuckled softly and carefully wiped the crumbs from Sky’s hands and cheeks.
I sighed.
I wanted to send the picture to Livana.
For days now, my thoughts have been spiraling. When Livana was alive, both empires were in chaos. Constant threats. Endless movement. After her "death"... everything just stopped.
Too clean.
Too quiet.
When I heard Livana’s voice once — inside their bedroom while Damon bathed Sky — my heart nearly burst. I wanted it to be her. I wanted her alive somewhere, anywhere. I needed her.
We stopped at a small villa and switched vehicles. This one was heavier, wider, and bulletproof. Inside, though, it was gorgeous — plush seats, soft lighting, a mini fridge.
"Mama!" Sky clapped suddenly.
I froze.
Damon smiled softly at him.
It was strange. Sky always called for his mother. He was barely one when Livana died. How did he remember?
Soon the hum of the road lulled everyone back to sleep. I stayed awake, heart unsettled. Sky murmured Mama in his sleep. Damon slept beside me.
I couldn’t.
We entered a private estate — tall trees, winding paths, a long driveway leading underground.
"Yay! Mama!" Sky clapped again.
"Nana!" the twins chimed in like they’d rehearsed it.
We got out. The kids were placed down and immediately ran toward the door. Sky led the charge. I laughed and grabbed my bag, following them.
Sophia caught my wrist.
"You need to prepare yourself," she whispered. "This is a big, big surprise."
"What surprise?" I asked, already stepping inside.
The house was warm. Cozy. Minimalist. Familiar.
"Mama!" Sky cried again.
"Mama!" the twins echoed.
I followed the voices.
In the living room, silver hair shimmered under the lights. Fair skin. Familiar arms wrapped around Sky.
She looked up.
Amethyst eyes.
My lips trembled. My vision blurred. My chest collapsed inward.
Hot tears spilled as a sob tore out of me — loud, ugly, unrestrained.
I cried like a child.
I was seeing a ghost.
Or maybe...
a miracle.
