Chapter 297: The Hacker

–Livana–

The bickering on the other line was loud and unmistakable. Lore had installed the bug successfully on Trisha’s phone, and now Tyrona’s voice sliced through the silence—sharp, authoritative, lecturing her about coming home late. Then came the slam of a door, followed by Trisha’s muffled sobs.

I rolled my eyes and shifted my gaze to Deanne, who was calmly eating her late-night snacks. She had gained a little weight—Caine had been spoiling her far too well.

"Hey," I said coolly, crossing my arms. "You need to lose a little weight. I thought your doctor told you to lessen sugary foods."

She nodded obediently and pushed the plate away.

"This isn’t sugary," she argued, pointing at it.

"Tsk. Whatever, Deanne." I waved her off. "You need to control your food, or it’ll be dangerous for you when you give birth."

"Fine, doctor," she mocked with a smirk. "But what’s with this little mess with Lore?"

"Oh." I shrugged lightly. "I just need to learn more about how Tyrona operates."

"No, not that."

I looked at her. She didn’t elaborate.

"Anyway, it’s good food," she said, standing and rubbing her back. "Damn it. I don’t want a second child after this."

I laughed softly and watched her leave, her figure disappearing toward the elevator. I turned back to the monitor just as Trisha began calling someone—complaining about her sister, the same sister who had likely given her everything she ever wanted.

A typical spoiled brat.

"Love," I said, turning toward my husband, who was deeply focused in his workspace. "Can you make me that special sandwich you always make?"

"Sure, dear."

I approached him, wrapped my arms around his neck, rose on my toes, and kissed his lips.

"I love you, Liva," he murmured.

I smiled and nodded. I didn’t need to answer. He already knew.

I headed upstairs to the small pantry by the game room. He preferred a high-grade beef steak for his burger, so I prepared mine the same way—same dressing, same care. When I returned downstairs, he was still immersed in whatever complex program he was dissecting.

I placed the plate beside his keyboard. He looked up, pulled me effortlessly onto his lap, and kissed my neck.

"Sky likes sleeping with his cousins," he murmured. "So maybe we could also—"

I wrapped his sandwich in wax paper and placed it in his hand.

"Here, my love."

He took it but didn’t stop kissing my neck. One hand slid to my chest, firm and familiar, grounding and possessive.

"Can we have another baby?" he asked casually, as if requesting another car.

"We can’t," I said softly, patting his shoulder. "Not yet."

"But I’m ready."

"I’m not." I nudged him lightly and took a bite of my smaller sandwich. He caressed my sides, unbothered.

"But I am," he chuckled, teasing. "Come on, babe."

"We’ll try," I said calmly. "We’ll try for a baby girl."

I laughed, then nodded.

"Yes. We’ll have that."

He kissed my temple and rested his palm over my abdomen, lingering as if already imagining the future.

"I love you."

"I know." I took another bite. He did the same and hummed appreciatively.

"Perfect."

We stayed like that—me seated on his lap, sharing food we made together, ruling empires between bites. We worked through the night, securing stocks, stabilizing systems, protecting every moving piece of our world.

By the time we headed to bed, it was already two in the morning.

I followed my routine—bathed, dried my hair, applied my skincare. I made sure he at least used his moisturizer.

He waited in bed, as he always did. Waiting for me.

I placed my robe by the bedside and climbed onto the bed—bare, unguarded, and entirely his to admire.

A queen does not surrender her power.

She chooses who is allowed to touch it.

–Lore–

I came home just right on time. Ms. Christina crossed her arms.

"I didn’t drink," I told her. She gestured upstairs.

"Don’t let Alyssa sleep with you tonight, got it?"

"Copy that," I nodded and headed upstairs. I found her still on my swivel chair, her homework spread over the bed. She turned the chair around and grinned at me.

"I think you already heard what Ms. Christina instructed." I smile at her lopsidedly.

"Yup." She nodded. "And I’m going to bed. Wake me up tomorrow with a kiss."

She gathered her things and was about to tiptoe over to kiss me. I stepped back. She looked disappointed.

"I’ll kiss you later, once I’m clean enough."

"Got it." Her smile grew as she headed back to her room.

I went to the bathroom, took a bath, and scrubbed everything where Theresa and Trisha had touched me. I put my pajamas on and sat on my swivel chair to make sure everything was being recorded. I just needed to get into Tracey’s Wi-Fi. That way, I could access everything and her connections.

Then Trisha connected to the Wi-Fi, which had me grinning.

Once she charged her phone by her bedside and fell asleep, that’s when I took over and gained control. I managed to get the IP address and more.

I sent everything to Livana. The Queen had to hear it first and share it with my parents.

I stretched and went to Alyssa’s bedroom. She was already asleep, arms spread, the duvet nearly falling off.

I tucked her in and kissed her forehead. She woke up, her lashes fluttering. She looked up at me as I reached for her hand and kissed it.

"Good night." I kissed her lips, and she giggled like a little girl.

"I can’t stay much longer, Aly. I’ll lock your door." I kissed her forehead quickly as I headed out. I locked the door from the inside and closed it once I stepped out.

Back in my room, I sat down and went through a few more pieces of data. I needed to work harder. I needed more access to Tyrona’s house.

I froze at the baby monitor. I felt bad for the baby boy sleeping, clutching a teddy bear, muttering "Mommy." Tyrona wasn’t around him, unfortunately. That woman had left the house with a guy. Either way, that baby needed more attention.

I removed the feed from my data. That little guy deserved his privacy.

I continued searching, and my eyes widened at Trisha’s Safari history. I sighed and shook my head. That girl had probably slept with a few more people—likely those who felt insecure around Alyssa. After running a few background checks, I found that Alyssa had a lot of suitors, but they backed out immediately and became Trisha’s playthings.

It only meant those boys didn’t deserve Alyssa.

She’s perfect in her own way.

She’s elegant and messy in her own way.

I love her. Yes, I finally admitted it.

I want her. Of course, everyone wants her.

But I will have her—and I will spoil her.

I finished my work, crawled into bed, and snuggled the pillow she chose. It smelled like her shampoo. It smelled like her. I drifted to sleep, dreaming of her—vivid and tempting, like a succubus in my dreams.

When I woke up, it was morning. Morning arousal. I sat up, opened my secret drawer, and took out the device when there were quick knocks at the door. I closed the drawer, pulled the pillow over my lap, and the door opened.

"Good morning!" Alyssa exclaimed. "I made breakfast." She looked extra cheerful. "What?" she asked.

I stared at her—she was wearing an apron and holding a tray.

"Are you sure you’re not here to poison me?" I teased. She rolled her eyes and placed the tray on the side table.

"Whatever." Then she left and closed the door.

The tension faded, and yeah—I felt like I needed to marry her as soon as possible. But I knew her parents’ wishes. They wanted her to finish college, get a degree, then do whatever she wanted.

I took the mug and sipped the warm water. Still half-awake, I headed to the bathroom to reset.

When I came out, Alyssa was already there, opening the curtains. The air conditioner was turned off.

"Hey." I approached her, took her hand, and kissed it. "Thank you for the breakfast."

I took the tray and placed it on the balcony table. It was a meal for two—but I could finish it myself.

"It’s cold already," she said.

"It’s fine." I took her hand and pulled her closer. "Alright... I haven’t been to Mountain Province—Sagada."

"I’ll plan that," she grinned.

"But let’s also invite your friends. Our friends." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

She pouted. "I thought it would be just us."

Truth was, I wanted it to be just us too. I had already called her dad and mom—asking permission to take her out for two days and one night, properly, with their blessing. They were clear: it couldn’t be just the two of us.

So with her friends and us, we’d be safe. I’d be safe—from temptation.

"No, we can’t go on a trip with just the two of us."

She looked very disappointed.

"Ugh." She rolled her eyes. "Still... it should be just us."

"I’m sorry, Princess," I grinned, taking a bite of bacon. "But it can’t be only the two of us."
