Chapter 692: Chapter 691: The Only Remaining Memory

Alan Morgan wasn’t sure how to explain things to Gerry Peary. After all, in Gerry’s memory, these past seven years had been spent with his mother.

"Gerry, she just wants to use you to get money." Alan Morgan looked at Gerry Peary with painstaking earnestness, his heart aching that his child had been deceived.

"No!" Gerry Peary became extremely agitated, roaring in anger. He then struggled to get out of bed despite Alan Morgan’s attempts to stop him.

"You’re a bad man! Gerry doesn’t like you! If Gerry had to choose between Dad and Mom, Gerry would choose Mom!" Gerry Peary struggled hard, forcefully pushed Alan Morgan away, and stood barefoot on the floor.

"UGH..." Pain contorted Alan Morgan’s face as he clutched his abdomen where Gerry Peary had struck him. Despite Gerry Peary’s young age, the seven-year-old had surprising strength.

Instantly, the gauze on his abdomen bloomed red as blood slowly seeped out, even faintly staining his hospital gown. Seeing Alan Morgan in such pain, Gerry Peary froze on the spot. Gerry Peary was short; standing there, his gaze fell directly on the specks of red on Alan Morgan’s abdomen.

"Dad, you’re bleeding!" Tears instantly streamed down Gerry Peary’s face. He remembered seeing his father lying in the hospital ward before, hooked up to all sorts of machines, and fear gripped him.

"WAA... Dad, Gerry didn’t mean to... WAA..." Gerry Peary instantly panicked and burst into loud sobs, rooted to the spot.

"Gerry, don’t be scared. It’s alright, Dad’s alright. Don’t be afraid." Alan Morgan, worried that Gerry Peary’s intense agitation might affect his heart, quickly tried to soothe him.

"Gerry, don’t be afraid. Dad’s here. It’s okay, it’s okay." Alan Morgan reached out to touch Gerry Peary’s forehead. Cold sweat beaded on Alan’s own face from the pain, yet he endured it without a sound.

Gerry Peary looked up at Alan Morgan. Seeing his father continuously reassuring him, he gradually calmed down.

"Dad." Gerry Peary looked at Alan Morgan, sniffling, his heart still filled with worry.

"It’s alright, Gerry. Stay right there, don’t move."

Just then, Alan Morgan’s mother walked in.

"What’s wrong? What happened? Why is Gerry crying?" Alan Morgan’s mother, her face etched with worry, immediately rushed to Gerry Peary’s side.

"It’s nothing serious. Why don’t you take him out to get something to eat?"

When Alan Morgan’s mother saw Owen Lewis was also there, she nodded. She understood they likely had something to discuss.

"Alright. If you feel any discomfort, ring the call bell for the Doctor." After a moment’s hesitation, Alan Morgan’s mother left the ward with Gerry Peary.

"So, these are still my problems to deal with, aren’t they?" Alan Morgan raised an eyebrow at Owen Lewis.

Owen Lewis, still reeling from the shock of what had just occurred, felt the corner of his mouth twitch. "When did you have a son?"

This was truly astonishing. Owen Lewis had always thought Alan Morgan would be the last among their group to marry. The man he’d expected to be slower than everyone else surprisingly already had a son. What the hell! This is just unbelievable!

"A long time ago. Can’t you tell?"

The corner of Owen Lewis’s mouth twitched. Nonsense, of course I can tell. The boy looks at least six or seven.

"Shirley Grant’s?" Remembering what Alan Morgan had said to Gerry Peary earlier, Owen Lewis felt something was amiss. However, he wasn’t really familiar with Alan Morgan’s personal affairs.

"Mm." Alan Morgan nodded. He had also learned this from his mother after regaining consciousness. He seemed to have forgotten all his memories of that woman; only a vague impression of her heartless expression remained.

"I’m just after your money, can’t you see?"

Words like these constantly swirled in his mind.
