Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 700 - 699: You Don’t Like Charles Northwood, Do You?
Nia Mitchell promptly shook her head, a sour look on her face.
"Spare me."
She didn’t want to go mountain climbing. It was exhausting, and there was absolutely no fun in it.
The last time she went climbing with Fiona Sutton and Charles Northwood, she was on the verge of a breakdown. The mountain could only be climbed on foot, and that experience made her swear she would never do it again.
Although she had now largely forgotten the pain of climbing, she remembered her vow.
"Climbing mountains is so much fun!" Fiona said. "It’s great exercise, and reaching the summit gives you a real sense of accomplishment."
Unfortunately, Nia Mitchell didn’t enjoy it.
Well. Just thinking about this made Fiona feel a bit miffed. In the past, whenever *she* had wanted to go mountain climbing, there were always two votes against it—Nia’s and Charles’s. And that Charles Northwood, he even claimed he didn’t like Nia Mitchell; it was evident in everything he did.
"I’m not going!" Nia Mitchell was adamant in her refusal. No matter how Fiona tempted her, she wouldn’t go.
Fine. If Nia didn’t want to go, so be it.
Fiona continued eating her scallops.
"Nia, I have a question for you," Fiona said. She had asked this question before but wanted to ask something similar again.
"Go on."
"If... I mean, if Charles Northwood were to confess that he likes you, what would you do?"
Once she asked, Fiona immediately looked at Nia.
Nia was speechless for a moment. The corners of her mouth twitched uncontrollably. What sort of question was that?
"Fiona, does your imagination always have to be this wild?"
What in the world! How could Charles Northwood possibly like her?
"Hey, I’m just saying, hypothetically. Let’s just assume," Fiona pressed.
Fiona didn’t discern much from Nia’s reaction. It seemed Nia Mitchell really didn’t like Charles Northwood at all. And Fiona also hadn’t noticed any signs of Charles Northwood liking Nia. Knowing this, Fiona suddenly felt a bit relieved, though she didn’t know why.
"As if! What kind of hypothetical is that? Charles Northwood could never possibly like me," Nia stated.
They were all good friends. How could such a thing happen?
"Fiona, don’t tell me *you* have a crush on Charles Northwood?" Nia Mitchell casually popped the question.
Fiona Sutton jerked in surprise. The chopsticks in her hand suddenly slipped with a CLACK, bounced a few times, then CLATTERED to the floor.
"Why would I like Charles Northwood? I’m going to get another set of utensils."
With that, Fiona swiftly got up and left.
Nia Mitchell, who remained seated, suddenly seemed lost in thought.
What did this imply? Why? Why did Fiona react like that? Given Fiona’s personality, this wasn’t her usual reaction at all. She should have... her reaction should have been something like, ’Holy crap! Me, like that loser Charles Northwood? Am I blind or something?!’ But Fiona, instead...
Nia abruptly curbed her imagination. Sitting there, she even lost the desire to eat.
Connecting this to the recent strange interactions between Fiona and Charles Northwood, Nia felt she was getting close to the truth. Fiona... likes Charles Northwood!!!
Nia Mitchell was startled by her own realization. Just then, Fiona Sutton returned with the utensils.
"Why would you think that? I don’t have feelings for Charles Northwood," Fiona said, feigning composure as she returned to her seat and continued eating.
Nia Mitchell put down her utensils and looked directly at Fiona, who kept her head down and continued eating.
"Fiona, we’re good friends, right? So, don’t lie to me. Is there anything you can’t tell me?"
"What are you talking about? I’ve said it already, I don’t like Charles Northwood!" Fiona’s reaction was quite strong, her voice suddenly rising.
