Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 758 - 757: Are You and Young Master Peary Married?
Nia Mitchell sat beside Aldy Mitchell, then raised her head to look at their father, who was standing to one side.
"In reality, I didn’t marry Hendry Hampton. The night we were supposed to get engaged, he despicably conspired with the Capital Town Police Bureau to have me detained."
Nia had thought she would be very upset saying this, but she wasn’t; she was surprisingly calm.
"The engagement banquet proceeded as planned, but with a different bride. I met Maxwell Peary at the Police Bureau."
A smile suddenly graced Nia’s lips as she recalled that moment. She had never imagined she would meet her other half under such circumstances, in such a place.
"Whatever I say next, you must keep it a secret. Not a single word can be leaked."
Nia abruptly paused, her gaze shifting to Molly Harguez, who stood to one side.
"Why are you looking at me? I’m not a blabbermouth," Molly Harguez said, feeling very uncomfortable. Why was Nia implying things about her?
Nia didn’t believe Molly would actually keep a secret. If she told her these things, Molly would undoubtedly go out and brag about them.
"Let me tell you, in Capital Town, Maxwell Peary is more audacious than the highest authority. He can appear anywhere with a gun and his army. If you say something you shouldn’t, even I won’t be able to protect you."
Nia decided a threat would be more effective. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to suppress Molly Harguez’s base nature.
Indeed, the threat worked. Molly Harguez stood there timidly, swallowing hard. After all, she was someone who had never witnessed such significant events. The mere thought of Maxwell Peary’s methods and his faction terrified her.
However, as she spoke, the other two men in the room simultaneously clenched their fists. This was such a formidable figure, someone they absolutely could not afford to offend. If Nia truly suffered a loss or was harmed, they would be completely useless, unable even to seek justice for her.
Seeing her threat had taken effect, Nia immediately continued with her story.
"He accompanied me to the engagement ceremony, helped me reclaim my dignity, and sheltered me for a night. At the time, I thought, Dad, that you would come. I didn’t want you to know about Hendry Hampton’s actions, and I didn’t want to worry you, so..."
Nia paused, a little embarrassed to continue.
"So what?" the three of them asked in unison.
Nia coughed awkwardly, feeling rather flustered. "So, I proposed to him, and we went to the Civil Affairs Bureau and registered our marriage that very day."
So, she was indeed married—just not to Hendry Hampton, but to Maxwell Peary.
The three of them stared, stunned. "You and Young Master Peary are husband and wife?"
They were all dumbfounded, momentarily unable to process this reality. It was too shocking. Who was Young Master Peary? He wasn’t someone they could afford to get on the wrong side of. Everyone had assumed Nia was merely Maxwell Peary’s mistress; who could have guessed they were in an open and legitimate marital relationship? If news like this got out, it would undoubtedly cause a massive sensation.
"Yes, we’ve been married for a good while now," Nia said sweetly, her eyes crinkling with a smile at the thought of Maxwell.
"Our relationship is very good. He treats me wonderfully, protects me in every way, and pampers me. Except... he’s a little too controlling."
Thinking of his domineering style, Nia looked slightly disapproving. But it was still very sweet.
