Flash Marriage With Mr. Sheffield: Go Away, Cheap Man!-Chapter 184: Wishing Us a Bright Future
Half an hour later, Silas Sheffield took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"Finished?" Clara Sterling asked.
"Yes," the man’s voice was tinged with exhaustion.
Hearing this, Clara Sterling slipped off the bed in her slippers, walked behind Silas Sheffield, placed her hands on his shoulders, and began to massage him.
"Is the pressure suitable?"
Silas Sheffield paused for a moment, "It’s suitable."
Clara Sterling smiled, her hands never stopping, "In the future, if you’re tired, I’ll give you a massage, okay?"
Even though she couldn’t help with his work, she could at least alleviate his physical fatigue.
"Okay." The man’s eyes softened.
He leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and enjoyed Clara Sterling’s massage.
After a while, Silas Sheffield opened his eyes, reached out to grab the small hand massaging his shoulder, spun the chair 180 degrees to face Clara Sterling, and pulled her into his embrace.
"You did a good job," the man’s gaze deepened, "Time to go to bed and rest."
Clara Sterling, sitting on the man’s lap, met his profound gaze, and her heart skipped a beat.
She was all too familiar with this expression.
Every time Silas Sheffield’s desire was stirred, it was with this look.
"Let’s sleep early tonight," Clara Sterling blushed.
The latter part of the sentence, "Let’s not do it," she didn’t have the courage to say out loud.
Otherwise, it would seem like a case of "declaring there’s no silver here when there’s clearly no silver."
However, Silas Sheffield saw through her thoughts, and the man chuckled softly, "Are you that afraid? Are you uncomfortable, hmm?"
Clara Sterling’s face grew even redder upon hearing this.
Of course, she understood what the man meant by this.
How could she respond to such a question?
"Come on, let’s go to sleep." Clara Sterling gave an evasive answer, struggling to get off his lap, "Didn’t you say we should rest early?"
As she spoke, the man’s long fingers had already lifted her skirt, "I told you, for me, this is relaxing and enjoyable."
Clara Sterling pressed her lips together, not daring to look into his eyes.
She was afraid that if she looked any longer, she would fall.
Seeing her silent, Silas Sheffield lowered his head, touching his nose to hers, "Do you want to?"
The man’s voice was hoarse with desire, even more magnetic than usual.
The two of them were so close that even their breathing intertwined.
Clara Sterling’s body heated up from Silas Sheffield’s single sentence, unable to control her body’s reaction.
Silas Sheffield’s restless hand touched something, and he curled his lips into a smile, kissing her unceremoniously.
Clara Sterling did not resist, allowing the man to kiss her.
The kiss grew deeper, and their breathing quickened.
Everything happened naturally.
Silas Sheffield didn’t carry her to the bed.
They just sat on the chair, with the man leaning against the backrest, his long legs bent at a ninety-degree angle sitting upright, and the girl sitting face-to-face on his lap.
On the chair, it was a new experience.
Clara Sterling liked it very much.
Afterward, both of their breaths were a bit erratic.
Silas Sheffield carried Clara Sterling to the bed, ready for another round.
Clara Sterling’s eyes were resentful as she pretended to glare at him, "Again?"
Aren’t you tired?
Such good stamina?
Silas Sheffield chuckled, his voice magnetic as if wrapped in electricity, "This is even more relaxing than a massage."
"..." Clara Sterling was speechless.
In her moment of speechless daze, Silas Sheffield had already started the second round on his own.
The summer night breeze was gentle.
Moonlight streamed in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the room’s spring scenery.
In the night sky, it was as if the stars had glimpsed something shy, closing their eyes and then secretly opening them again.
...
By noon the next day, Clara Sterling had a farewell meal with her roommates.
At the dinner table, the atmosphere was a bit emotional.
"Even after graduation, we’re still friends. Remember to keep in touch," Lynch Lynch raised a glass of drink, "Cheers!"
"Cheers!" Clara Sterling clinked her glass with hers.
The other two roommates also raised their glasses.
"I’ve found a job here in Crestwood, so I think I’ll settle down in Crestwood in the future," Lynch Lynch said, "Sharon, Alice, where are you headed for development after graduation?"
Alice Woods put down her drink, "I should go back home. My parents don’t want me too far away."
Alice Woods’ hometown is in Stonewell, another province, far from Crestwood.
Sharon Shaw said, "I think I’ll head south to Corvina for development. My parents work there, and there are more opportunities in coastal cities."
Lynch Lynch mumbled a bit sadly, "You all are going so far away, one to Veridian, one to Stonewell, and one to Corvina. It’ll be hard for all of us to meet up again."
The girls have always had a great relationship.
Over the past four years, they’ve rarely had any conflicts.
Compared to other dorms, they were very fortunate.
Clara Sterling knew this farewell was different from the last.
The last time, she was just taking her mom to Veridian for treatment, knowing she would come back and see them again.
But after this farewell, it was a true goodbye.
In the future, they would be worlds apart, not knowing when they’d see each other again.
A wave of sadness surged, and Clara Sterling’s nose tingled with the urge to cry.
She forced a cheerful smile, "It’s okay. With transportation so advanced now, if we want to meet up, we can just make a call and get together anytime."
Lynch Lynch tugged at her lips, not wanting to spoil the mood, and agreed, "Clara’s right. Transportation is convenient now; it’s easy to go anywhere."
Alice Woods: "Yeah, don’t make it so sentimental. It’s not like we can’t see each other again."
Despite saying this, they all understood how hard it would be to gather all four of them together like this in the future.
Everyone would be busy with life’s demands.
They were ordinary people, and their salaries wouldn’t be very high.
While transportation is convenient, two round-trip tickets could cost half a month’s wages.
Sharon Shaw also laughed, "Yeah, let’s eat well, play well today, and not return until we’re drunk!"
To lighten the mood, Clara Sterling joked deliberately: "We’re drinking soft drinks; we can’t get drunk."
"Hahahahaha, you know what I mean; whether it’s alcohol or soft drinks, it’s all about the atmosphere."
"Then let’s not return until we’re drunk!" Clara Sterling laughed and raised her glass.
"Not until we’re drunk!"
After dinner, the girls went to a karaoke bar to sing.
Being girls and afraid of getting drunk and causing trouble, they didn’t order alcohol and drank soft drinks instead.
By the time Clara Sterling and her roommates finished singing and came out, it was already dark.
Saying goodbye by the roadside, they couldn’t hold back their tears.
After all, they’d spent four years together, leaving many beautiful memories.
Now facing separation, it was hard to let go.
Clara Sterling’s eyes turned red, "I’ll come to visit you guys whenever I get a chance."
"Okay, it’s a deal," Lynch Lynch choked.
"It’s a deal," Clara Sterling sniffled, tears welling up in her eyes, "I wish us all bright futures!"
Lynch Lynch: "I wish us wealth and prosperity soon!"
Sharon Shaw: "I wish everything goes smoothly for us every day in the future!"
Alice Woods: "I wish us happiness and health every year!"
Although the graduation ceremony had been held yesterday,
Clara Sterling still hadn’t felt the reality of graduation.
After today’s meal with close friends and hearing the farewell words, Clara Sterling truly felt that she had graduated.
These four years of college were now coming to an end.
Graduation is a story of millions of summers.
Millions of people, having millions of different summers and millions of different stories.
The only sameness is the farewells.
