Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 96 - . Group
Chapter 96 - 96. Group
Only now did I notice that my grandma's teeth did have a normal white, not this super-white that her false teeth had.
"Did your real teeth grow back?" I asked only to get it with the stick, but she still touched her teeth in wonder.
"Don't dawdle." She beat me again, and we continued our journey.
Now that one bald man had fallen off the cliff after getting shot for whatever stunt he tried to pull, and that my grandma and I killed the two other two—there was only the longhaired man left of the group of prisoners. But that one did neither seem part of the baldies, nor was he overly hostile, even explaining my seizure without ridiculing me.
If most of the difficulties were brought aside, it would be the best.
When we had crossed the church tower and had a good distance behind us, already near the house Henry was hopefully waiting for us, I heard a girl scream my name.
"KENNY!"
I turned to the voice, ready to conjure up my weapon, when I saw who I never would have expected to see.
Chelsea was running to me, a thinner and disheveled version of herself, falling into my arms.
"How can you be here? What is going on?" She choked up and burrowed her face in my neck, shivering.
"How can you be here?" I asked back, stunned, while hugging her.
"The earthquake, I was at home, as good as everyone was gone, then suddenly we woke up here."
At the cue, I saw a few others coming out of a building, hesitantly, cautiously. Seeing the group of people, I got an idea.
"Did you have a girl with you? With a broken leg?" I asked.
"Yes! Did you see her?" A guy came to us with shoulder-length hair and baggy jeans. He was baby-faced but had a stubble.
"Yes, we are on our way to them." I said while looking at the small body seeking warmth inside my arms.
"She's still alive?" A red-haired girl from the group asked in disbelief.
I nodded.
"Not far from here."
Overall, there were 10 people who came out. It seemed they ran away from the monster, leaving the broken leg girl behind, yet they still found themselves coming back here.
"Chelsea, who is he?" A slender girl asked.
"Look at what he is wearing." One of the guys commented.
"These eyes..." The red-haired girl put her hand against her mouth in fright, reminding me of Lauren. I instantly disliked her.
"Shut up!" Chelsea turned her head to bellow at them but didn't let go of me.
"Kennith." My grandma intercepted.
"Yes, we have to go." I peeled Chelsea away from me.
"You can come with us if you'd like; talk about it with your group."
"We'll come for Jeyjey." The baggy jeans guy said, while the redhead crossed her arms in irritation.
Chelsea also nodded against my chest.
"We'll go."
I motioned for my grandma to continue the journey. Now we had to forsake the ladder because I felt uncomfortable exposing my ability to them.
Regarding any conflicts inside the group with the broken-legged girl, Jeyjey, I did not have any reason to intercept. If they take her with them, we have one less liability to care for.
I led the way with my grandma and Chelsea, while the other fell back a bit, but still followed.
"Is this your grandma?" She asked while we continued to climb over debris and while I tried to figure out how to overcome the next hurdle without my powers.
"Yes."
"Nice to meet you; I am Chelsea, a classmate of your grandson." She shyly introduced herself.
My grandmother took a long look at her while crossing the debris with ease.
"Hello." She turned to me with a glare, and I noticed that she had put the gun inside the pockets of her tunic. Very clever. Don't show them that we have a gun.
Chelsea was stumped, and I shrugged,
"What are you glaring at me for?" I asked the dragon.
"You are just like your grandfather."
"What are you even...?" I took a few breaths to calm down.
"Just ignore her." I said to Chelsea, who seemed uncomfortable. My grandma showed her best side, like always.
We were now a good hundred meters away from the hideout. The window I had climbed out of was facing this street, so Henry should be able to hear me in this profound silence.
"HENRY!" I yelled, silencing the people behind us that murmured among themselves. I had no other way. Not only that, but I hoped he would either help my grandma and me continue to climb around or bring the people behind us to Jeyjey so I could continue to use my ability without them staring at me.
First there was no response, and I got nervous and irritated at the thought of him having long taken off and forsaken my orders.
But then I saw a dark figure jumping out of a house, making his way to us.
"Who is this?" Someone asked alarmed from the group behind us.
"How can you yell? What if you lure the monsters here?" The red-haired girl gripped the arm of Baggy jeans, and I could already imagine the love triangle that was going on with Jeyjey and these two.
"He is also a classmate of mine." Chelsea turned to calm them before looking at me confused.
"How are you two together here?"
"Long story." I said.
Henry arrived more speedily than expected and looked down on everybody I brought back, his eyes resting longer on my younger grandma, who looked at him coldly, and Chelsea beside me, who still grabbed my jacket.
"You are late." Henry said when his eyes finally landed on me, like a wife who had waited with a hot dinner for her husband while he was fooling around outside.
"Yeah. But I brought the girl's group. You know, the ones that left her behind to die." My voice was easily heard by them, who had caught up closer, but nobody said anything.
"Oh...them." Henry looked at each of them again before looking at me.
I tried to convey my intentions,

"Bring them to the girl; meanwhile, I'll help my grandma."
He seemed to understand what I meant, his blue eyes turning to the group.
"What are you waiting for? Climb up."
