Chapter 98 - 98. A girl's body

"I know. But it's not worth the effort." I was really fatigued from everything that had happened, and just wanted to close my eyes to rest.

"Let's just get into this house?" Henry pointed at the askew one that was left of us. It was just three town houses apart from the one Jeyjey was in, so it was near. Though there was not really a reason to stay close to them besides us all being fellow humans.

I took Henry's hand and flipped the coin. I saw that two men of the group would 'ambush' us later for food. When I came back from my vision, I sighed deeply and emptied a bit more of the backpack, only leaving us so much to eat. Tomorrow I would have to go back to the mansion, maybe taking Henry with us, and remain there. Now that I had my dog on my side, I could leave my grandma in his care while going back to the cave and finding a way back out.

Again, taking Henry's hand, I flipped the coin and saw how they will clash with each other for the food that was left on the big asphalt chunk, instead of attacking us. A smirk crept on my face, and I said to Henry that we should go.

"You are gifting away food that you don't even own." My grandma remarked.

"I am tired. Leave it." I yawned and stood up, walking to the window of the building next to us. Because of the elevation of the asphalt, the window led us directly into the first floor.

I tested, and the window could be opened. I crawled inside and searched for a mattress. My grandma was behind me, and following her was Henry, still drinking on his can of beans.

"Are you up for watching the first shift while I get some sleep?" I asked Henry while opening the doors.

"I am." Came back from behind.

I finally found a room with a turned-over mattress. I flipped it and shook the debris and dust off it before crashing onto it.

"Look after my grandma." I mumbled before falling into a deep sleep.

*******

The next time I opened my eyes, it was because I heard voices.

Still in a daze, I sat up, trying to figure out what was going on.

"When do you think he will wake up?" Chelsea asked.

"How should I know?" Henry said with clear irritation in his voice.

"Let me inside his room."

"No." He growled.

"Let her in." I said loudly. The door opened, and Chelsea entered.

"What's up?" I asked her, rubbing my face with my hands. The window behind me let no light inside, and only now I noticed that it was because it was dark outside. Don't know if that's good or bad.

Chelsea saw me turning back and looking out of the window,

"The sky turns dark here, but the days are at least double as long as at home."

"Oh." I nodded.

"Kenny, what is going on here?" She asked, stepping on the mattress and sitting in my lap. I hugged her instinctively. Damn, a girl's body; it has been so fucking long since I hugged one.

Her hands snaked around my neck, and I started to explain.

"There are parallel worlds, and they crash into ours. This is the second one we know of. The first one had exact copies of each of the humans here, and their Kenny had killed their Henrietta; it was her corpse that showed up in this world." It was a rough summary, but it should be enough.

I deliberately wanted to let her know of my innocence as well. She accepted me with open arms, despite probably witnessing what the media had written about me.

"Oh my god." She breathed out shakily.

"Is there a way back to our world?"

"Yes, there is a cave near where you have left the girl behind. The portal should be there, but I don't know how to exactly cross it."

Holding her, I flipped the coin, wanting to look into the future, but instead it turned gold every time. In the incorrect past, I just saw her deer counterpart sleeping and eating these roots they seemed to feed on.

"Let's go together when there is light?" She asked.

"I wanted to go first and find a way. If we all go together, there will be Jeyjey with her broken leg and my grandma. What if we get attacked on the way, only to find out later that the portal doesn't work? I don't know if that's the best course of action." I took a deep breath near her neck. She clearly hadn't showered, but somehow girls managed to smell better than men, regardless of what they did.

She combed through my hair soothingly.

"We should all go together. That time, it was the monster that had attacked us, and everyone was scared; everyone ran, and Jeyjey was left behind; it wasn't that she was left behind with intention."

"Yeah." Either way, Chelsea would never be able to carry her, so the responsibility hadn't been with her.

She distanced herself enough from the hug to kiss me, sneaking her soft tongue in my mouth. Interrupting the kiss, she spoke before continuing again.

"Let's go together, everyone."

I got aroused.

"What about other survivors who are here in this world?" We wouldn't know if we really are the only ones.

She ground against my erection with her lower body.

"Let the military rescue them. You got the food from them, hadn't you?" Oh yeah, the backpack was in camouflage style, so it was probably because of this that Jejey thought I could bring her out when we met.

It was not like I could run around here endlessly to look for survivors, and it would not make much difference if I looked for the portal alone or if I took them with me directly. Then we could also exit the portal immediately.

"What if the portal doesn't work? Aren't we risking the lives of the others with that journey?"

She licked over my lips before teasing to deepen the kiss, distancing herself abruptly, though.

"It is dangerous, no matter where we wait."

"Okay. Speak with your group and let them vote." Having spoken about the business, I wanted nothing more than to focus on the pleasure.
