Forbidden Game: Ruthless CEO, Please Set Me Free-Chapter 818 - 826: Return (16)
His gaze softened a little, as he sat by the bedside watching over her in a daze.
As it approached midnight, Qiao Mo sobered up a bit from the alcohol, but her head was still groggy.
"Water..." Qiao Mo propped herself up, not yet aware of where she was, when a glass of warm water was brought to her lips.
Gulping down several big sips, she finally settled like a fish returning to water.
"Sleep a little longer." He tucked the blanket around her.
After all, the night was still long, and if she woke up now, it might be a long while before she could fall asleep again.
Hearing his familiar voice, Qiao Mo looked at his handsome face in a daze, noticing the concern in his eyes, she chuckled, "Fu Nancheng."
"Hmm?"
Hearing her call his name gave him peace of mind.
How long had it been since he last heard her call his name, how long since he could properly look at her, hold her.
Qiao Mo closed her eyes, giggling foolishly, her fingers poking at his chest repeatedly: "Who are you putting on this affectionate act for?"
His expression stiffened slightly, and in silence, he tucked her small hand back under the covers.
Qiao Mo turned over, her back facing him, drunkenly babbling, "Like you love me so much... like you are the most pitiful in the whole wide world..."
"Let me tell you, I hate you, I will never forgive you."
He merely remained silent, listening to her endless chatter.
Even if every word felt like a sharp blade, stabbing at his heart, it seemed that as long as he could hear her voice, he would gladly endure it.
Her voice grew softer and gradually turned into mumbling to herself.
He could no longer make out what she was muttering, yet he still stayed with her, unwilling to leave.
The room gradually quieted down, warm light embracing their silhouettes, very tender, like many years ago.
Qiao Mo slept uneasily, after barely ten minutes of peace, she sat up suddenly, hair disheveled, tears streaked her face, and she poked at his heart again while crying and laughing, "Do you think you’re so clever?"
"No." He patiently engaged in conversation with her.
"No?" Qiao Mo’s tone rose several pitches.
"Then what do you think of yourself?" She asked, smiling with a bit of silliness.
"I hate you! You’ve disappointed me again and again... I will never forgive you! Never possible! Never ever!"
With reddened eyes, Qiao Mo finished speaking and fell back down.
"I don’t need... false affection, arrogance, narcissism, conceit!"
Listening to her rambling, he didn’t respond anymore.
Actually, he wanted to talk to her, but he didn’t know what to say.
He could feel that she hated him.
But it wasn’t long before Qiao Mo got up again, searching for her phone: "Fu Nancheng, did you see my phone?"
He got up, intending to fetch it for her. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Qiao Mo collapsed back onto the bed, mumbling to herself, "I have to tell Yiming, I’m drunk..."
He hesitated slightly, turning to look at her.
By now Qiao Mo had closed her eyes again, still muttering, but completely unaware.
...
Tossing and turning back and forth for the entire night, it wasn’t until after three in the morning that Qiao Mo finally settled down.
Her flushed little face still bore traces of tears, as if terribly wronged.
He couldn’t help but reach out, gently wiping them away, but she instinctively brushed his hand away, moved a bit, and continued sleeping.
The next morning, Qiao Mo slowly woke up.
Her drinking capacity was truly... headache-inducing.
