Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself-Chapter 888 - 898: A Tool to Be Used
Mu Xingfeng walked straight to the door, but was stopped by An Youcai from behind.
An Youcai looked at the entrance of the café, hesitating a bit, "Chief Mu, can we find another place?"
Mu Xingfeng had already put on his aloof and unapproachable aura, and upon hearing An Youcai’s words, he paused, "Mr. An, you seem quite afraid of coming here?"
"No...no, I just don’t really like drinking coffee," under the man’s strong aura, An Youcai’s forehead was already dotted with cold sweat.
"We are just here to have a conversation. If Mr. An doesn’t want coffee, no one will force you. Considering how long you’ve been standing outside the complex in this hot weather, it’d be bad if you got heatstroke."
With that, Mu Xingfeng stepped into the café first.
An Youcai was taken aback upon hearing this. Could this man have known that he’d been waiting outside the complex?
But come to think of it, this man had a background in the Guard Team, so such observation skills and awareness were expected.
He had indeed waited outside the Longteng Xinyuan entrance for most of the day. After he went home yesterday, he made inquiries and discovered an unexpected piece of news: An Ran turned out to be the sole shareholder of the Wenshan Group.
And the reason An Ran became a shareholder of Wenshan, he had more or less figured out.
Upon learning this news, he couldn’t sleep all night.
Sun Xuehui was innately suspicious. Even after being married for twenty years, he knew she was still hung up on things from the past.
He didn’t believe a word Sun Xuehui said in the car; she said those things simply because she saw An Ran as valuable and hoped to reclaim An Ran into the An Family for further exploitation.
He didn’t want his daughter to become a tool for the An Family anymore. He owed her too much.
However, he and Sun Xuehui were still husband and wife. He was well aware of how the Wenshan Group ended up in An Ran’s hands. A man like that, of such power, would never allow An Ran to suffer any slight.
At yesterday’s banquet, he couldn’t tolerate the way his wife and daughter spoke to An Ran, let alone that man.
He came to wait for An Ran, not expecting Wenshan and Ansheng to continue their collaboration, but merely hoping, for the sake of his face, that they wouldn’t hold grudges against his wife and daughter and forgive them once more.
That sentence An Ran said at the banquet was icy; he knew she didn’t say it lightly. An Ran now had every ability and reason.
Yet, seeing the café in front of him, he hesitated again. He wanted An Ran to know he was her biological father; though she had grown up before him, without acknowledging that relationship, he felt something was missing inside.
Twenty years of unrecognized kinship, and now that she found a haven protecting her, he no longer worried about his wife forcing him to abandon this daughter. He wanted to proudly tell his daughter that she wasn’t an orphan, she had a father.
But facing the café, or rather, the people inside it, he couldn’t muster that courage. He didn’t want her to know what a disgraceful father he was. In front of An Ran, he felt unworthy of the title of father.
Seeing Mu Xingfeng had already entered the café and found a seat, through the glass window, he saw a woman warmly greeting Mu Xingfeng, and An Youcai’s heart sank to the bottom, could it be they all knew?
