Forcing Me to Be Reborn?!-Chapter 221 - 190 Autumn Outing
Chapter 221: Chapter 190: Autumn Outing
Chapter 221: Chapter 190: Autumn Outing
Who wouldn’t love a loli voice?
Even more so when it’s a “loli” with 36D.
It easily brings to mind a certain “series.”
Inside the Land Rover, Lin Lu saw Cheng Zhu burst into laughter that resembled a pig’s squeal and couldn’t help but say irritably while driving, “Okay then, okay, you like this kind of thing, huh!”
“Yeah, you could say that, I actually have a pretty broad range,” Cheng Zhu replied.
“Tch! That’s basically the same as telling me you’re a huge pervert!” Lin Lu said from the passenger seat.
“Exactly, so a pretty girl like you should be extra careful around me,” Cheng Zhu teased on purpose.
“I’m not scared at all!” Lin Lu turned her head to look at him, her eyes sparkling.
Cheng Zhu glanced at her from the corner of his eye, feeling that ordinary people simply couldn’t resist that.
“Luckily, I’m not an ordinary person.”
He was very clear that he and Lin Lu were just a step away from something more.
His one step, compared to Xu Shao’s, was surely worlds apart.
But it was very important what opportunity would lead to that step!
This guy wasn’t worried about not being able to handle Lin Lu; what concerned him were a few other possible complications.
At that moment, Lin Lu realized the topic had been derailed by Cheng Zhu.
“Don’t you think there’s something off with Zhang Qiqi?” Lin Lu forcefully brought the conversation back on track.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Cheng Zhu switched into a typical clueless guy mode.

“Can’t you sense she’s interested in you?” Lin Lu stared at him.
“That’s news to me!” he exclaimed in surprise, “How did you figure that out?”
“I never really paid much attention to her, but Ningning told me,” Lin Lu explained in detail, “Ningning is very perceptive and has great instincts. If she says so, it’s probably like that.”
She even added, “I just listened to the way she talks, it’s clear she’s trying to flirt with you! Definitely!”
“Really?” Cheng Zhu, like a pup, picked up his phone and replayed the voice message from Zhang Qiqi, as if to carefully savor it.
The voice actor girl looked at his expression and snapped again, “Wow! Now you’re totally immersed in it, aren’t you!”
“Bullshit, I don’t like her,” Cheng Zhu spoke the truth.
Don’t you start accusing me out of nowhere here!
I might be a playboy, but I’m an upfront one.
No feelings means no feelings, got it!
“What if she starts pursuing you actively?” Lin Lu persisted, “I’ve heard a saying, ‘When a girl pursues a guy, it’s as easy as breaking through a layer of gauze.'”
“Well, that’s hard to say, I’m a man who can’t resist temptation,” Cheng Zhu replied with a smile.
Lin Lu, listening on the side, was fuming with anger.
Cheng Zhu glanced at her and casually added, “But it also depends on the person.”
Little Lu’s mood took a turn at those words.
However, she still complained, “I think you’re just lecherous! It’s just that Zhang Qiqi might not be your type.”
Cheng Zhu thought to himself: Not exactly.
I’ve said it many times, Zhang Qiqi and Yiyi are of the same type.
In my previous life, Yiyi could be considered one of the girls who stayed with me the longest.
It’s not that this type of girl isn’t my thing, it’s just that I’m a bit tired of it for now.
Knowing myself, I’ll probably get over it soon enough!
At that moment, the car just happened to pull into the apartment complex, and before Lin Lu got out, Cheng Zhu told her to wait.
“This is for you guys.” He took a bag from the back seat.
“What is it?” Lin Lu opened it to see, “Rabbit head and rabbit meat?”
“Yeah, remember during National Day my mom took Little Youzi to Sichuan Province, and she brought a bunch back.”
“Nice, if Ningning and I fail at cooking today, at least we won’t have to order takeout,” Lin Lu said with a chuckle as she got out of the car.
Cheng Zhu sat in the car, watching her enter the door to Building A of the apartment complex.
“Come to think of it, aren’t they renting a three-bedroom apartment?” he wondered aloud.
“Does that mean there’s an empty room they’re just using to store clothes?”
“Tsk, that’s just too extravagant, too wasteful!” he thought.
…
…
After Lin Lu got out, Cheng Zhu remained in the car and began responding to Zhang Qiqi.
“Just driving,” he gave a reason for not replying to her messages right away.
After all, she was coming to pass on information, so he had to be polite.
But this also showed that Xu Shao really had it rough.
Perhaps, in Zhang Qiqi’s view, this was a good opportunity to “pick a side.”
A chance to firmly stand with Cheng Zhu and show that she was merely ordinary friends with Xu Shao, but different with him.
“He says your asking price is too high, his budget is within five million,” Zhang Qiqi shared.
“Did he mention why he thinks the price is too high?”
“No, he just blurted it out, saying four to five million is enough to open ten claw machine stores around your shop.”
“That’s pretty dumb. I’d love for him to open ten stores around mine, ha,” Cheng Zhu thought.
In his view, Xu Shao probably wasn’t stupid enough to do something like that. His words to Zhang Qiqi were likely just him being upset and showing off his wealth to boost his own ego.
Anyone with such thinking should just stick to their day job; starting a business would be like throwing money away.
The selling point of an internet-famous store is its viral fame, drawing people to come for the check-in.
It’s not popular because it’s a claw machine store, but because it’s an internet sensation.
What’s so rare about claw machines? Which arcade doesn’t have them?
Even if you open several identical stores next door, what’s the use? Will people come to your knockoff store for check-ins?
If really a few more claw machine stores opened next door, Cheng Zhu would be ecstatic.
That would only make his store’s business better and enhance the brand value!
After chatting a few more words with Zhang Qiqi, he learned that Xu Shao planned to tap into his venture capital networks to negotiate.
It was clear that Xu Shao wasn’t passing up any chance to show off his connections; now he was flaunting his networking resources?
He probably even shared all his plans for after taking over the store and his business ambitions with Zhang Qiqi.
“Good to ask around. Do I not know what those venture capital folks are like?” Cheng Zhu smiled to himself.
To him, there were only two types of people who could buy “Youu Come to Play.”
The first type was the downright rich and naive fool, easy to scam.
Whether one could meet such a person was a matter of luck.
The second type was someone like Xu Shao, wealthy and filled with lots of ideas.
“If he doesn’t go chat with the venture capitalists, this deal might not happen at all. I might not be able to sell for 6 million.”
“But since he’s going to talk, the deal’s halfway done,” Cheng Zhu was convinced of this in his heart.
At this moment, however, he was unaware that his lengthy stay in the car had caught the attention of Lin Lu and Shen Qingning, who were by the window sill.
Weren’t they supposed to be cooking?
It was just past three, but they were already starting prep work in the kitchen.
For culinary novices, efficiency was low, so they had to begin early, right?
Through the kitchen window, Shen Qingning spotted the car parked downstairs.
“Cheng Zhu hasn’t left yet?” she asked.
“Really? Let me take a look!” Lin Lu immediately craned her neck to peek down.
“Oh, I guess he’s replying to Zhang Qiqi’s WeChat. Her friend wants to buy his claw machine store,” Lin Lu concluded.
“I see,” Shen Qingning nodded slightly, not probing further.
But after several minutes, Lin Lu noticed the car hadn’t moved at all and grumbled, “He can chat for so long?”
After another five minutes, she glanced down again, “Still chatting?”
Cheng Zhu’s car remained parked downstairs for a good twenty minutes before slowly driving away.
“What could he possibly have to chat about with that middleman for so long?” Lin Lu complained while vigorously washing the vegetables.
Shen Qingning glanced at her, “Be careful or you’ll wash the vegetables to mush.”
Lin Lu began to rant to her, “Qingning, let me tell you, he actually didn’t realize Zhang Qiqi has feelings for him.”
“Really?” Shen Qingning’s eyes shifted, her heart filled with disbelief, though she didn’t say anything.
“Then I told him, ‘What if Zhang Qiqi suddenly starts pursuing you?'”
“What did he say?”
“He had the nerve to say he can’t resist temptation! He made me so mad!”
“Hm?” Shen Qingning paused in her chopping.
“But then he added: ‘It depends on the person,'” Lin Lu huffed.
Shen Qingning continued her chopping, saying, “That guy is always running his mouth.”
“Exactly! So annoying!”
…
…
Cheng Zhu, who was driving back to the university, had no idea he had just been criticized by the two girls.
He didn’t plan to go to room 212; he’d been busy running around all day and was heading straight back to the dorm.
Upon entering the dorm, he overheard Dong Dong and the others excitedly discussing something.
“What are you all talking about, getting so worked up?” he asked curiously.
“Brother Zhu, take a seat, we’re talking with the class rep about planning an autumn outing,” Dong Dong responded.
“Outing? Have you decided where to go?” Cheng Zhu inquired.
“We’re stuck between two plans,” Liu Feng sought Cheng Zhu’s input.
“One option is to go fruit picking and have a barbecue.”
“Another is to book a homestay for a night. We could drink together, play games, organize some team competitions, and there’s even a small mountain behind the place we could climb.”
Cheng Zhu was indifferent; for him, it was just a way to kill time and loosen up.
“So why can’t you decide?” he questioned.
“If we include accommodation, the budget will definitely be higher, and some might not want to join,” Liu Feng answered.
Cheng Zhu nodded, understanding that students’ financial situations greatly varied. Take their dorm’s Zheng for instance; his monthly allowance was probably more than all four students in room 310 next door combined!
“We actually prefer the second plan. It’s less exhausting, and Chuaner might even get a chance to make a move and sneak into Chen Tingting’s covers at night,” Dong Dong, who never held back his words, started blabbering.
The conversation in the dorm quickly derailed as everyone began to tease Liu Feng.
As they talked, Mr. Dong arrogantly suggested, “How about I personally contribute a little more and we just settle on the second option.”
Even though he now knew he wasn’t the top spender in room 309, he still loved to show off.
“You can forget it. You’re not cut out for that,” Cheng Zhu waved him off.
“When the time comes, not only will they enjoy the perks of your money, but they’ll also bad-mouth you behind your back. You believe me?” Cheng Zhu advised.
After saying that, Liu Feng and Zheng Qingfeng immediately nodded in agreement.
“Ah? So what should we do?” Dong Dong was puzzled.
“I’ll personally fund it,” Cheng Zhu pointed to himself.
“Ah? Isn’t that the same thing?” Dong Dong was confused.
Then he saw Liu Feng and Zheng Qingfeng nodding again, agreeing with Brother Zhu.
Dong Dong racked his brain but couldn’t grasp the intricacies.
Cheng Zhu just smiled, “Don’t bother trying to understand; you won’t get it.”
“Of course, I won’t sponsor it for nothing. During the class outing, let’s incorporate our ‘Sheep’ game into the activities. Let the classmates play it together, give me some feedback. It’s not too much to ask, right?”
Liu Feng, as class rep, agreed on the spot; after all, he and Chen Tingting were in charge of organizing the group games.
The conversation continued a while longer, and the topic shifted to the transfer of “Youu Come to Play.”
Though they didn’t understand why Cheng Zhu suddenly wanted to sell the store, they were curious to know how much it would sell for in the end.
Truth be told, the matter had spread like wildfire across the school, not just among the Computer Science 2 class, but all the gossip-hungry onlookers from the entire university were curious.
Even students from Measurement College next door had gotten wind of it.
“Brother Zhu, have any prospective buyers approached you lately?” Dong Dong asked.
“Yeah, there was an offer for 4 million,” Cheng Zhu replied, taking the chance to spread this news.
The dorm room fell silent for a moment.
“Damn? 4 million! Did you sell it just like that?” Dong Dong was the first to react, shocked.
“Oh, I didn’t agree,” Cheng Zhu said nonchalantly.
