Chapter 175: I can’t see women cry

Theo’s POV: 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"My favorite girls! Thank you for your help. Now it is time for me to leave," I said, and I was about to disappear from the spot. But Amelia stopped me.

"Wait, Theo! Please listen to us. You are going to make a huge mistake."

I don’t want to have this conversation with them again. They are trying to change my mind, but they should know that the raft has sailed.

"I don’t think that you can win Celestia’s heart again if you do this. She might hate even more if you keep on playing hoaxes like this," Amelia said.

"Then what do you expect me to do? How else can I save her from that buzzard Oberon?"

"I don’t know! But what you are doing now is not right. And for Selene’s sake, please don’t go against the Siren Queen."

"Amelia, sweetie! Don’t forget that I survived the abyss of torment. So I am capable of surviving any other circumstances."

She got mute after that as she knew that it was useless to try and change my mind. Ivory was blinking away tears that were forming in her eyes.

"Theo, we just had you back. You can’t leave us again," she said and wiped the tears that were ready to drip down from her eyes.

I moved closer to her and embraced her in my arms. She always loved me more than all the other Siren girls. Once, she even took the blame for the mistake I made to Cynthia and saved me from her wrath. She is a sweetie!

I gently patted her long raven black hair and comforted her. "Don’t worry, sweetie! I’ll be back soon once I finish my job."

Still, she didn’t stop crying. She cried so much that my cloak got soaked with her tears. I didn’t know how to console her. I had not seen her cry this much since the day when I told her that I am madly in love with Celestia.

I still feel bad for hurting her feelings. But I have no other choice than this. If I leave Ivory, then she gets miserable. If I am not with Celestia, then I will be unhappy. What can I do?

After a while, Ivory pulled away from me and said, "I am sorry about that! I just missed you so much for a thousand years. Now you are again leaving me and...."

She again started to sob even more. Perhaps I should have gone without saying goodbye to her.

Amelia put her arm around Ivory and tried to comfort her. Still, she was sobbing. She is breaking my heart now!

"Theo, you can leave now. I will take good care of her," Amelia suggested.

"No! I can’t leave her like this," I sighed out. "Or Ivory, just come with me to the Highlands."

She instantly stopped crying and glared at me hopefully. Her lovely hazel eyes had turned red and puffy from crying. Poor thing! I held her hand and said, "Just come with me to the Highlands. We both can do this together as a team."

"Really," she smiled in happiness. "You are taking me with you?"

"No," Amelia interrupted. "The Siren Queen won’t be happy when she comes to know that her favorite Siren girl has turned against her too."

"Come on, girls! I will take full responsibility for this. You both can relax."

"Fine! Then I am coming with you too," Amelia snapped.

Just when I thought that everything was settled, Amelia said that and messed with my sanity even more. I didn’t want any more companions.

I should gently let her down. What if she began to cry as Ivory did? I don’t think that I can see another girl cry today! I always disliked it when women cry.

I glanced to my side and eyed Tangerine, who was sleeping peacefully in her cage. Then an idea flashed in my mind!

I looked again at Amelia and said," I would very much want you there, sweetie! But who will look after Tangerine if you come with us?"

She didn’t argue with me after that. Nor did she sob like Ivory. I breathed out in relief when I realized that no one else is going to cry today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After bidding a farewell to Amelia, Ivory and I went to the cell in which Samuel was imprisoned.
I flashed the little piece of dead rock stone at his face and declared, "I can conceal my powers now. So it is time that we leave."
Samuel blinked at Ivory, who was standing beside me, and said," What is the pretty lady doing here?"
"The pretty lady has a name, and it is Ivory. She is going to accompany us too," I said to him.
"What?" Samuel shouted. "Your Majesty, we can’t take this pretty lady with us. If King Oberon recognizes her, then we will be in trouble."
I was about to defend her to him, but Ivory spoke out even before I could. "You do know that Sirens are capable of shapeshifting into the form they like, don’t you?" she asked him.
He widened his eyes and replied, "I was not really aware of that! If that is true, then I would suggest that you two take a form with similar features like mine. I would declare to my fellow Highlanders that you two are my children."
"That seems like a good idea!" I retorted. "But how are you going to convince everyone that you got a son and daughter out of the blue?"
"Well! If I will tell them that your mother is a Mage girl and that you two lived in the Lowlands for this long. The proud Highland Faes would not give another thought to it as they all don’t care about the Mages."
That is one flawless strategy! No one would even give a second look at Ivory and me when they assume that we both are Half-Mage. The faith I had in Samuel increased twofold. He is intelligent in scheming, just like me.
With him by my side, I am sure that I will succeed in this quest!
