Forgotten Love: Mr. President, Mrs. Fordham Has Rejected You!-Chapter 176: Miss Grant, You’re 5 Weeks Pregnant
The lights of the Sterling Family stayed on until two in the morning before Stella Grant finally convinced the elders to agree to keep the child.
Vivi Sterling recounted the events involving Zane Zimmerman, explaining how he had saved her from dire situations three times.
Mrs. Sterling burst into tears upon hearing this and choked, saying, "This damn fate, how did it turn into regret. Back then, your father chased me for three years, and I stubbornly refused. You silly girl, daughter..."
Mr. Sterling quietly turned his head to look at her, pondering whether it wasn’t actually Miss Grant who had hounded him for three years, even offering herself while drunk, leaving them no choice but to marry because of the child...
However, she was a great wife. She supported him as he built his empire from the ground up, which allowed the Sterling Family to ascend to one of Meritopia’s four great noble families.
Mrs. Sterling hugged Vivi and carefully escorted her upstairs.
Mr. Sterling walked over and said to Stella Grant in a heavy tone, "Stella, be good, don’t get too close to that Aiden Fordham. Just worried something bad might happen, and it would break your father’s heart."
Only two leaves left, must guard them well.
"Dad, don’t worry." She reached out to help him upstairs.
The night was deep, yet Stella Grant slept restlessly, her heart tangled with countless emotions.
The next day, Stella accompanied Vivi Sterling to the hospital for a check-up. The gestational sac already had a fetal heartbeat and embryonic sprout. Upon hearing that pulsing heartbeat, Vivi burst into tears.
Fortunately, everything was normal, just that HCG was a bit low, and the mother was somewhat malnourished.
The doctor prescribed progesterone and nutrients to help sustain the pregnancy before letting her leave.
As the two were about to leave the hospital, the dean approached with several doctors.
"God N, please wait." Dean Warner shouted.
Stella Grant turned her head in confusion and saw the large group.
"Miss Grant, hello, I’m Dean Warner. It’s an honor to see you at the hospital."
Dean Warner bowed his head and extended his hand to her, and Stella Grant shook it politely.
"Dean Warner, what’s the matter?"
"It’s like this, there’s a relatively urgent case here, and I want to ask Miss Grant for some advice." Dean Warner said as he quickly introduced the handsome doctor beside him in a white coat.
"This is Dr. Roman Lynch, a cardiologist we specially hired from abroad. He’s encountered a tricky case. Quickly, show Miss Grant the medical record."
Roman Lynch handed over the folder in his hand. "Miss Grant, this is a patient’s information. She has severe heart disease and must undergo heart surgery within two months. However, she has genetic deficiencies and is allergic to all anesthetics. The team is at a loss."
Genetic deficiencies, allergic to anesthetics?
Hearing these two words, Stella Grant and Vivi Sterling shared a thoughtful glance.
She took the case file and looked it over carefully. The patient’s condition was quite critical. If surgery wasn’t performed soon, all blood vessels might become blocked. However, the human body can’t withstand such a major operation without anesthesia.
After thinking for a moment, she said, "Currently, conservative treatment is the only option. I am researching a new anesthetic targeted at these types of genetic deficiencies. Hopefully, I can finish it in time."
"May I ask, which city is this patient in?" Her voice was slightly unsteady.
"In The Imperial Capital." Roman Lynch quickly replied and then took out his phone, "I wonder if I could add Miss Grant’s contact information for future communication."
Stella Grant let him scan her WeChat, chatted for a few more moments, and then left the hospital.
Roman Lynch watched Stella Grant’s figure, the corner of his mouth curling slightly with a complex look in his eyes.
Upon leaving the hospital, if one looked up, they could see the towering Fordham Group building.
At this moment, inside the Fordham Group conference room, the pressure was so low it could freeze someone to death.
Out of today’s ten plus proposals, none could please President Fordham.
Everyone could tell that President Fordham’s mood was unusually off today, and the ice on his handsome face could almost conjure three feet of frost.
At this moment, he was staring blankly at his phone screen.
In the conference room, a group of executives deliberately lightened their breathing, afraid that any sound might disturb the big boss.
A few minutes later, Aiden Fordham finally came to his senses.
He looked up, his indifferent gaze sweeping over everyone.
"Meeting adjourned."
Two words, devoid of warmth.
He stood up and walked out directly, leaving a room full of people who felt as if they had been granted amnesty.
In the CEO’s office.
Keegan Lindsey walked in with freshly brewed coffee, only to see Aiden Fordham’s tall figure framed against the huge floor-to-ceiling windows.
Between his fingers was a cigarette, its red ember flickering, his deep eyes fixed on the direction of a distant small apartment.
Keegan placed the coffee on the table and bravely started the conversation.
"President Fordham, the madam’s health isn’t great now, and she has severe anemia. When one’s body feels unwell, the temper tends to flare."
"You wouldn’t know that time in Mardale, you nearly strangled the madam, but she didn’t hold it against you at all."
Aiden Fordham turned around sharply, his brow furrowing.
Why couldn’t he remember such an event?
Keegan noted his expression and continued, "Your memory’s incomplete, some things have been forgotten. Do you remember that time you threw her into the swimming pool? She was almost drowning, yet you wouldn’t let me save her."
Aiden Fordham’s eyes shook visibly.
Was there such an incident?
Keegan sighed, shaking his head, "If I were the madam, I’d at least give you two stabs, killing you a hundred times wouldn’t be enough. Sigh, the madam is just too kind."
With that said, the inexplicable frustration clogging Aiden Fordham’s heart miraculously dissipated.
What replaced it was a heavy suffocation; he realized he had no right to be angry with her.
Keegan saw the opportunity and moved in closer.
"President Fordham, do you want to win back the madam?"
Aiden Fordham gave him a sidelong glance and coldly spit out a few words, "Do you have a way?"
Keegan instantly stood up straight, confidently tossing his hair.
"President Fordham, in the game of love, there are only two superior moves."
He held up a victory sign with his fingers, full of enthusiasm.
"One is the hero saving the beauty, a move you executed brilliantly in Mardale with excellent results!"
"The other is the advantage of proximity, bringing you closer!"
"Just imagine, if the madam is constantly exposed to your tenderness and passionate love, even the hardest of hearts will melt. Love that has withstood life and death will surely blossom into a beautiful crimson flower!"
He ended his outstanding speech with a loud clap.
A glimmer of different color finally appeared in Aiden Fordham’s deep eyes.
He extinguished the cigarette and said mildly, "Three months’ bonus, keep talking."
Keegan was wildly joyful inside but kept a serious face.
"Alright! I’ll devise for you a foolproof ’Lunar Landing Plan’ to ensure the madam willingly stays in the Fordham Group as your devoted wife... Oops, I mean, as the CEO’s wife!"
So, he began his endless grand vision...
4:00 PM.
A black Rolls-Royce Phantom quietly parked outside the Sterling Family’s gate.
Keegan Lindsey got out of the car and entered the gate.
Ten minutes later, he came out with Stella Grant, and the car sped away, heading straight for the Fordham Group.
Fordham Tower, 60th floor, Technical Department.
When Stella Grant’s figure appeared at the door, thunderous applause erupted.
The technical director led a group of top engineers, lined up in two rows, excitedly looking at her.
"Welcome, God N!"
"Wow, it’s God N in person! She’s truly beautiful!"
"God N is the eternal idol of our department! The great savior of D!"
"Goddess N was once our president’s wife."
Everyone whispered, unable to hide their admiration and excitement.
God N, who had once stunned the world at a press conference and made D famous overnight, was now going to work with them. It was a rare honor.
Stella felt a bit uneasy and nodded slightly to everyone.
Her task this time was heavy.
D’s database needed a comprehensive upgrade. The six cancer modules hastily built before were overwhelmed by the explosion of clinical data.
Each cancer treatment plan had to be expanded into a separate system.
In addition, more than two hundred minor problems discovered in the clinic were not found in the database, all requiring her personal attention to perfect them.
This workload was conservatively estimated to take half a month.
The technical director personally took Stella on a tour of the entire department, finally leading her to a private office.
The office was large and spacious.
On the desk facing the floor-to-ceiling windows was a high-performance supercomputer.
On the coffee table next to it, there was a platter of carefully cut exquisite fruit, a selection of cute French pastries, and a pot of steaming floral tea.
This treatment was top-notch.
Without thinking much, she turned on the computer, logged into the system with the highest permissions given by the director, and immediately became engrossed in work.
Meanwhile.
In the CEO’s office on the top floor, Stella Grant’s figure was clearly reflected on a large surveillance screen.
Aiden Fordham quietly watched.
He watched her focus intently on typing on the keyboard, occasionally furrowing her brow, and the stream of code flowing beneath her pale fingertips.
His gaze was so gentle it could almost drip water.
More than an hour later, Stella finally felt a bit tired.
She put down the mouse, stood up, and stretched her neck.
She walked over to the coffee table, sat down, picked up a piece of matcha mousse, and tasted it.
"Hey there, Miss Grant, I’m here." A childish electronic voice sounded.
D Model No.001 slid in, smoothly coming to her side, extending a small mechanical hand to gently poke her knee.
Stella’s heart skipped a beat; she picked up its little hand and examined it thoroughly.
Her face was full of surprise.
"You have hands now? And they move so smoothly?"
"Of course!" D beamed with pride on its LCD face, "I’m Model No.001, the more perfect I am, the better the subsequent D models will be! I don’t just have hands; I have feet too!"
As soon as it finished speaking, a slight mechanical sound came from its body as it rose, revealing a pair of mechanical legs in golden shoes, which it used to take a couple of adequate steps.
Suddenly.
Its tiny hand pressed a button on its chest forcefully.
M.J’s classic track resounded throughout the office.
D began to flash with multicolored lights, breaking into an explosive robot dance.
Stella was utterly amused by its antics, covering her mouth and giggling.
Watching this scene on the screen, Aiden Fordham’s lips instinctively curled upwards.
He stared at the woman on the screen, whose eyes turned into crescent moons with delight, resolving several times to rush downstairs at once.
But he held back.
He had promised Keegan that he absolutely could not see her today.
Otherwise, all efforts would be wasted.
So, he could only stare greedily at her through the cold screen.
The phone suddenly rang, and he walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows, talking on the phone and lighting a cigarette.
As soon as the song ended, D immediately ran over to Stella’s side, rubbing its round head against her leg.
"Miss Grant, give me a drop of blood, and I’ll check your health."
She patted its head lightly, "I’m busy, maybe next time."
"Please, Miss Grant, just one drop!" D whined like a child, rolling around at her side, "I’m so bored, please play with me for a bit."
With that, it raised the cover on its belly, deliberately extending a fine blood sampling needle, looking at her earnestly.
Stella, annoyed by its persistence, had no choice but to extend her finger.
"Just this once."
"Yay!"
The needle quickly jabbed and retracted.
"Data reading... wow... wow wow!"
D kept gasping in surprise, and its little face on the LCD screen flashed through over a dozen extremely delighted emojis.
Thirty seconds later.
It summoned all its strength, exclaiming with joy. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"Miss Grant! You’re five weeks pregnant! You’re going to be a mom!"
"The President finally has a baby! No.001 is so happy!"
Stella was completely stunned, her eyes widened in disbelief, utterly shocked.
