From BOSS to Canon Fodder: She is Currently Out of Service!-Chapter 24 - 14: Flaunting Love, Courting Death_2
Just as Xu Lei was pondering what Su Jiameng was up to, he received a set of coordinates along with the words "Air Compression Bomb."
At the same time, K3 and his companions also received a series of coordinates. Absolute trust on the battlefield, without hesitation, they acted according to the coordinates given by Su Jiameng. As they stepped onto the final coordinate given by her, Xu Lei launched an air compression bomb at that location.
The ground shook violently, sand and stones splattered, leaving the audience bewildered by these actions. The arena was a sandy terrain, and once the air compression bomb was detonated, a cloud of gray dust filled the skies, revealing the presence of three invisible snakes.
Originally, these snakes should have left traces when moving over the sand, but after modification, they were floating above the sand. Thus, the only way to catch them after they became invisible was just like that. Once seen, a method to counter them could be devised.
Su Jiameng’s calculation was precise, the three snakes were currently within the "sand fog" generated by the air compression bomb; it would take at least three seconds to escape this range! These three seconds were enough for K3 and his team to commence their counterattack.
Even if they managed to escape the sand fog, she could still send updates to Xu Lei; those snakes should never think of running away!
[Xu Lei, shoot freely to expand the sand fog area.] Su Jiameng was relieved that these guys were using only the basic invisibility, which only prevented others from seeing them, without truly "disappearing."
The hunt was on! Feeling slightly excited, Su Jiameng operated the new Heart-shaped Mecha and drew from the back a bow with a simple design. Pulling the bowstring, a laser arrow materialized in bright blue. Things like bows and arrows were undoubtedly rare; typically, mecha manufacturers wouldn’t even bother producing them. It would have been more practical to install several Hotline Particle Cannons instead.
But Su Jiameng did not take the conventional route. Upon seeing this unusual item, she chose it without a second thought. She felt very much like a Judgement Angel, piloting a winged humanoid mecha with a striking bow and arrow. If only her head carried long, flowing hair, the picture would be perfect. Su Jiameng once piloted a similar mecha surviving over three years on a beast-infested uninhabited planet.
On that planet, items like Hotline Particle Cannons couldn’t be used; instead, one had to rely on homemade, crude bows and arrows. Su Jiameng’s archery skills were honed during those times. The whole audience felt awkward seeing her conduct. Could such a weapon strike the enemy? Indeed, these two teams seemed to be scheming for some show of affection... making the audience feel like fools.
However, the next moment, they felt that even if it was a show of affection, it was absolutely fascinating! Su Jiameng once again displayed her flamboyant, high-speed movement with cunning evasive maneuvers, skilfully dodging a rain of bullets and seizing the fleeting opportunity to shoot an arrow. The laser arrow halted abruptly in midair, with a part of it mysteriously disappearing...
The eagle was pierced through with a single arrow, losing energy for its cloak generator, thus revealing its form. At this moment, the camera zoomed in for a close-up, revealing on the big screen that the arrow not only pierced through the eagle but also struck the cockpit directly, skewering everyone inside! Holy crap! If this was indeed a show of affection, it was beyond brutal!
In the virtual network, while characters perish without causing real-world deaths, their psyche suffers severe damage, making recovery cumbersome, potentially keeping them offline for a short period! But these are general understandings. Surprisingly, killing in the virtual network can lead to real-world deaths, correlated with telekinesis powers.
In Su Jiameng’s world, mind power users undergo rigorous virtual network monitoring. During telekinetic outbursts, they can kill others in the virtual world or utterly destroy their minds, turning victims into vegetative states or causing brain death.
Just like her instructor said, greater strength requires tighter constraints because uncontrolled power leads to irrevocable tragedies. Constraints don’t mean lack of freedom; strength within the rules represents true power, while recklessness only brings about disasters.
After skewering an eagle, she focused all her attention on the eagle piloted by Sals. Although his skills weren’t outstanding, he was remarkably cunning. He activated all three Hotline Particle Cannons on the mecha, two aimed at the ground units, one targeting Su Jiameng!
Sals had a good plan, attempting to pin down Su Jiameng, yet underestimating her tenacity, she wasn’t one to die so easily!
Skillful multitasking, simultaneously issuing commands to her targeted companions while maneuvering the mecha for a counterattack, calculating precisely how Sals would inevitably trip himself with his own plan! Su Jiameng wasn’t someone easily trifled!
This match was probably the longest duration Su Jiameng ever participated in so far, and truly, Sals was shameless! But still, the elder proved wiser, as she and her companions ultimately maneuvered Sars Team into a pitfall. Sals’s attack mistake bombarded his two teammates, while he was ruthlessly skewered by Su Jiameng.
Normally, by now she would swoop down to join her companions and finish off the last big snake, and the spectators awaited her to descend and wreak havoc. But... hearing the beep of her wrist computer, Su Jiameng swiftly sent a message to K3 and his team, [Leave the rest to you all, I have urgent matters to log off for a bit, I’ll be back soon!]
Then, an act leaving all spectators astonished occurred, the imposing "Judgement Angel" vanished with a whoosh, including its peculiar bow and arrow. The audience exchanged puzzled glances, so this humanoid mecha was also equipped with a cloaking device?
