From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals-Chapter 567 Morals
Rosana laughed, the tension in the air finally starting to ease. "Figured as much. But it was worth asking."
Ty adjusted John on his shoulders, feeling the weight of his friend as they made their way back toward the kingdom grounds. The forest had begun to thin out, the path ahead becoming clearer as patches of moonlight flickered between the trees. They walked in relative silence for a moment, the distant sounds of the tournament still faintly ringing in their ears.
"We never really got to see how it looked," Ty said after a while, breaking the quiet. "The kingdom grounds, I mean. When the tournament started. That attack happened before everything really kicked off, and then we moved out right away."
Rosana nodded beside him, her eyes scanning their surroundings. "That's true. We barely had time to settle in before chaos hit. I've been wondering about it since. They said the King and Joker King have to stay within a certain radius, right? So it's not like they can just hide out until the 96 hours is up."
Ty tilted his head slightly, his brow furrowing. "Why do you wonder about that? Isn't it simple? They stay put until a fight comes to them… or we take the fight to them. I guess it's just about playing defensively or offensively, right?"
Rosana shook her head, her steps slowing a bit as she glanced sideways at him. "Ty, did you even pay attention to the rules?"

"Uh... yeah. I think so. For the most part." Ty's voice wavered, and the slight hesitation in his tone was enough to make Rosana give him a look of disbelief.
"Clearly not," she said, crossing her arms as she walked. "It's not just about staying put. They can't just hole up somewhere and wait it out. The whole point is to force confrontation. The radius keeps shrinking."
Ty blinked, processing her words as they pushed through another patch of trees. The landscape in front of them started to change, the thick forest gradually giving way to a more structured path, cobblestones lining the ground beneath their feet. The subtle sound of footsteps on stone replaced the crunch of dirt and leaves.
Ty's eyes widened slightly as the castle grounds came into view, a square structure made of stone and metal, standing tall against the dark sky.
He tilted his head, studying the architecture, before something clicked in his mind. "Ohhh," he muttered, slamming his fist into his open palm as the realization hit him. "That's right! The arena shrinks after a certain amount of time, forcing everyone to move in closer. It's not just about waiting; it's about being forced into battle whether you like it or not."
Rosana gave him a sideways glance, a small smirk forming on her lips. "Glad you finally figured it out."
Ty grinned, shrugging. "I was getting there." He looked up at the structure again, tilting his head in thought. "So how does that affect things? What's the strategy for when the arena starts closing in?"
John, slung over Ty's shoulders, muttered under his breath. "The King's platform will likely move."
Ty looked over his shoulder. "What was that?"
John groaned, lifting his head slightly, his voice raspy from the effort of speaking. "The King's platform. It'll move. The whole thing shifts inward with the arena. Forces the fighting to happen around it."
Rosana furrowed her brow. "So, no matter where we are, we're going to end up fighting near the King's base?"

John nodded weakly. "Yeah, more or less. It's designed to push everyone toward a central point. The platform moves, the safe zones shrink. It's all to make sure there's nowhere to hide."
Ty shifted John's weight on his shoulders, glancing up at the looming structure of the kingdom grounds. "I suppose that makes sense," he said, his voice thoughtful. "They don't want everyone dying off in the first stage, but over the next couple of days, both Kings are going to be put into tough spots. The shrinking arena's going to force it. No one's going to have a choice but to fight."
Rosana nodded, her eyes still flicking around the darkened forest as they walked. "That's true," she muttered. "We should take the chance to rest while we can."
Ty pushed ahead a little faster, sensing the safety of the kingdom grounds just up the cobblestone path. "Yeah," he agreed, his tone lighter. "Let's get inside and rest up for a bit while we've got the chance."
Rosana hesitated, glancing at Ty from the side. "What about the bounty?" she asked, her voice low but tense.
Ty sighed, rolling his eyes slightly, but kept his tone even. "I told you not to worry about that. Once it fails, I'll be on the run, keeping myself hidden. If you want to come after me, you're more than welcome to try." His words were calm, but the underlying tension wasn't hard to miss.
Rosana's hand shot to her chest, her expression shocked. "I—I would ne-never!" she stammered, her voice trembling. The very idea of betraying Ty seemed to unsettle her.
John, still slung over Ty's shoulders, chuckled, his voice rough but teasing. "I promise, though, if I get the chance, I'll kill you," he said with a grin, not missing a beat. "You're way too strong to face in a one-on-one. I mean, at some point, we're all gonna have to fight each other, right?
Best time to take you out is probably now, but no one's thinking about that because they're all too busy preserving themselves."
Rosana snapped, whipping her head toward John. "John! What the hell are you saying? We'd be dead if not for him!"
Ty smiled, shaking his head. "He's right though, Rosana. I'd take me out if I had the chance." His eyes softened a bit, but there was an edge to his voice. "You shouldn't be so friendly to everyone. I won't betray you, but there are plenty of others here who will. Everyone in this tournament is fighting for something selfish, one way or another."
