From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 70: Your Words Are The Law
When Myles read the skills of the Veil Stalker, he randomly craved destroying their demonic core and gained their innate skill. However, at their level, it might require him to gain law affinity.
Compared to when he consumed the demonic core of Common Demons, it did not require him to have affinity with law.
However, Greater Demon and above would definitely require him.
He pondered for a while and asked the voice in his head, "Come to think of it, if only the demon noble can help me gain their affinity law, how about the knight race that has a specific law? What if the demon noble didn’t have their knight’s law?"
[Before, when you were still at the Common Demon Rank, the level of your core and the Ancient Demon of Gluttony’s level made it difficult for you to consume the law affinity of demons that only has bloodline potential with Great Demon Rank.
The Ancient Demon of Gluttony has not developed sentience by then and would rather consume the law affinity of Greater Demon noble bloodline than leaving it be and gifting to you. It might be able to ignore the law affinity of demon nobles since the quality and quantity of their demonic energy was only slightly enough.
The Ancient Demon of Gluttony is always being considerate to the host.
Now that you have awakened the Greater Demon Rank and the Ancient Demon of Gluttony is conscious enough to draw a line where both of you benefit, you can now acquire the law affinity fragment of the knight race.]
Myles’s eyes widened. Why did you not say that earlier?
The voice in his head instantly replied, [Because it is not included in the status. The third effect focus of the Ancient Demon of Gluttony focuses on giving you an opportunity to acquire law affinity with other demonic races, not including the limitations.]
Myles sighed and nodded. He did not bother arguing with the voice in his head anymore.
As he was finished communicating with the voice in his head, he focused on the Veil Stalker, who was staring at him with terror ever since he bound them with his shadows.
He communicated with the shadow binding him, as the shadow tapped the forehead of the Veil Stalker.
He injected demonic energy through the Veil Stalker’s mind, not to harm him, but to connect his thoughts with the Veil Stalker.
It was just a theory he suddenly came up on how to communicate with others through telepathy.
It seemed he was successful when he heard the voice in his head echoing in his mind.
[You have learned a new skill, Shadow Telepathy.
Congratulations, your mastery in demonic energy control has developed to a level where you can learn a new skill.
There are no rewards, though.]
Myles shrugged.
He communicated with the Veil Stalker, "Do you know that you are my slave now?"
The Veil Stalker’s heart skipped a beat. He drew a sharp breath. He continued to stare at Myles with eyes screamed of terror.
Myles frowned. He instantly ran out of patience.
He said in a grave tone, "Answer me."
The Veil Stalker panicked. He could answer right away but he was still in a state of shock.
Unfortunately, Myles’ mental commands as his slave instantly took effect.
So, he replied, "Yes."
Myles nodded, satisfied.
He let the Veil Stalker process reality for some time as he took out his mantle and rested on his bed.
What he did not expect though, his actions actually caused the Veil Stalker to be taken aback.
He did not expect Myles to be only wearing an artifact and was actually not a Blood Knight.
He’s a half-imp and half-incubus? I must report this to the Commander!
Suddenly, his chain of thoughts abruptly changed. The moment he thought of harming Myles, his mind went haywire.
After a while, he stared at Myles and thought. How should I be at his service?
His body’s tension slowly loosened, providing Myles a clear idea of how powerful his enslavement worked.
He smiled and slowly retracted the shadow threads that bound the Veil Stalker.
The Veil Stalker did not hesitate to come down and kowtowed in front of Myles.
If it was not for the shadow’s vision that provides Myles a perception of what the Veil Stalker was currently doing, he wouldn’t have known the Veil Stalker was acting with deep respect to him.
He was amused by his action.
Violet wasn’t like this, though.
He asked, "How many of you are here?"
The Veil Stalker instantly replied, "In total, there are fifty of us. We are the knight race with the highest quantity inside the Royal Academy."
Myles was surprised. He thought. Come to think of it, even their first-years have nine of them. I just couldn’t remember because their armor made them disappear once they returned to their position.
His eyes flashed with delight.
If I’ll be able to enslave them, gathering intelligence inside the Royal Academy would be easier.
He stared at the Veil Stalker for a while and said, "Since you are the first knight that focused on espionage and gathering intelligence, you’ll be granted the title the first Shadow Initiate. For now, gather intelligence particularly in your knight race’s overall power—their individual behavior and more to provide me an idea of how to lure them to become my slave like you.
Do you understand?"
"I understand, Master."
Myles frowned. He said, "Call me Emperor."
"Yes, Emperor. Your words are the law."
Myles was taken aback by his words. He deeply liked it and was satisfied by how loyal he worked.
He said, "Go now and come back only if you have gathered enough intelligence. You can ask others to switch with you, so I can slowly enslave them."
"I understand, Emperor."
Soon, he vanished after activating his Glass Step. Myles was surprised. His first Shadow Initiate’s mastery in his innate art was definitely superb.
He soon rested his head on the pillow as his wings stretched out after they finally regained their temporary freedom.
Myles rested to his heart’s content until he was awakened by the Commander’s shout, signaling their first day in the Royal Academy.
