Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 41 - 26: What is Your Original Form?
"With so many prime females, His Majesty the Insect King is sure to produce an heir!" A tall, burly member of the Insect Clan walked over, ecstatic as he gazed at the females being transported. His appearance was that of a perfect Beastman, with no trace of incongruity; he must have been a member of the High-level Insect Race.
Anubia said nothing, sneering inwardly.
’Before long, all these females would be nothing but corpses.’
Suddenly, a figure caught his attention.
"You there, come here," he said suddenly, stopping a member of the Insect Clan up ahead.
The insect’s expressionless face was filled with fear and reverence. Not daring to disobey in the slightest, he quickly carried the female on his back over to him.
Anubia reached out and tilted the female’s face up, getting a clear look at her. At the sight, even the tall, burly insect general gasped in astonishment. He had seen countless females, but this one was absolutely stunning. Her scent was even more enchanting—she was clearly a top-grade female with high Fertility!
’If I send this female to him, His Majesty the Insect King will be overjoyed! A promotion and a new title are just around the corner for me!’
"I want this female. Leave her with me," Anubia said, his voice flat and emotionless.
"Your Highness!?"
The Insect Clan general, Geler, protested, "These females are all tribute for His Majesty the Insect King to bear an imperial heir! You’re stealing one of his females. If His Majesty finds out, I’m afraid..."
Geler was in charge of the raids in this region.
Anubia had only come to inspect the area out of boredom.
"Are you defying me?" A red glint flashed in Anubia’s eyes. The Insect Clan’s hierarchy was incredibly strict. Crushed by the pheromones Anubia released, Geler broke out in a cold sweat, his legs nearly buckling as he sank to one knee.
Anubia sneered. "So many females have been sent to him over the years, yet that old codger hasn’t managed to produce a single heir. His equipment probably stopped working long ago. She’s better off with me..."
...
When Sang Luo woke up, she was lying on a bed in a lavishly decorated palace. Red silk gauze draped around it, and the scent of woody incense wafted through the air as thin wisps of smoke curled upwards. It actually smelled quite pleasant.
"Luoluo, we meet again. Did you miss me?"
A man walked in through the doorway.
When Sang Luo saw him clearly, she froze. Tall, coolly handsome, with black hair and black eyes... who else could it be but Lan Cang?
’But that’s impossible. Lan Cang would never speak to her with such a teasing look and playful tone. It’s so obviously fake!’
"Who are you?" she demanded, her voice cold.
The man chuckled, and his face shifted into that of a handsome, cheerful youth with brown hair. Sang Luo’s expression turned even colder. "Anu... or perhaps I should call you Anubia? Don’t you dare show me your real face?"
Anubia gazed at the captivatingly scented little female before him. Back in the Rubel Forest, he had initially set his sights on that Wolf Beast. The Wolf Beast’s Talent Power was surprisingly good, and he had wanted to possess his body for his own use. He never expected to stumble upon *his* little female.
’This exquisite little female was truly the greatest and most unexpected prize of his journey.’
Anubia snapped his fingers. His body suddenly shifted and stretched, transforming into a tall, delicately handsome youth with black hair. He leaned against the wall, one long leg bent, his form half-shrouded in shadow.
He narrowed his long, beautiful, almond-shaped eyes, his pupils glinting with a faint gold. A pale red beauty mark beneath one eye added a seductive flair, making him inexplicably bewitching. "How about this form? Do you like it?"
Sang Luo was taken aback by his stunning good looks. She swallowed hard and forced herself to remain composed. "...I take it this isn’t your real form either, is it?"
"Heh, why don’t you guess?"
"What is your true form?"
"My true form?" Anubia smiled. "I’m afraid you wouldn’t want to see it."
"You’re not a cockroach, are you?" Sang Luo asked, horrified.
"..." Anubia’s face darkened. "I am no such hideous thing! Among the Insect Clan, this prince’s true form is considered one of the most handsome!"
’Good. As long as he’s not a cockroach, I can handle anything else.’
"Are you the one who brought me here?"
Sang Luo surveyed her completely unfamiliar surroundings. ’To think I was abducted by the Insect Clan after all.’
"I saved you," he said. "If it weren’t for me, you’d probably be dead by now."
’She wasn’t about to believe his nonsense!’
"Hungry? Want something to eat?"
Sang Luo was still fuming and had no intention of acknowledging him, but when he offered her the roasted meat, its savory aroma instantly captivated her. She couldn’t help but swallow. The roasted venison was even sprinkled with special spices.
’He actually remembered the recipe she’d taught him...’
"After I returned, I tinkered with the recipe you gave me several times to get the flavor just right. It’s a shame the person I made it for was never there to taste it." Anubia smiled beautifully. "See how much my skills have improved?"
’There was no point in letting her stomach suffer.’ Sang Luo was genuinely hungry, so she accepted the roasted meat without hesitation and began to dig in.
’It was delicious. Not as good as Lan Cang’s cooking, but it was far better than the food at any restaurant on the Western Continent.’
"Did you and Caesar become mates after he took you away?" he asked softly.
"None of your business!"
"Heh heh, so that’s a no. If he didn’t even mark a tasty morsel like you, you could easily be snatched away." Anubia’s smile grew wider and more genuine.
The moment Sang Luo finished eating, he said eagerly, "The night is young and time’s a-wasting. Let’s become mates right now."
Sang Luo gave him no opportunity to get close. The moment he leaned in, he was treated to a hundred-thousand-volt shock. In truth, with Anubia’s power, he was not afraid of this energy in the slightest—it felt like little more than a tickle. But the sight of her rejection still stabbed him in the heart.
Anubia’s expression soured, and his entire aura turned chillingly sinister.
’He had saved her twice, and this was how she treated him!’ Furious, Anubia stormed out and slammed the door, gone to vent his anger elsewhere.
Once he was gone, Sang Luo scrambled out of bed and began searching for a way to escape.
The entire palace was sealed shut. Other than the main doors, there were no exits.
The moment Sang Luo stepped through the doors, she was met by countless pairs of dull, black eyes staring intently at her.
Rows of Insect Clan guards stood outside the door, and in the distance, tens of thousands more were all looking in her direction. Goosebumps erupted all over Sang Luo’s skin.
Tens of thousands of insects in the dead of night, their eyes glowing red—it looked like a scene from a zombie apocalypse, and it was absolutely terrifying.
She slammed the door shut and backed away.
Arms wrapped around her waist from behind. A devilish voice, sensual and seductive, whispered in her ear. "Want to obtain my power? If you had my strength, you might just be able to escape."
’She wasn’t falling for it.’ A female could only obtain a male’s Talent Power during mating because of his Primordial Yang, which was lost after his first time. Judging by Anubia’s libertine attitude, who knew how many females he’d slept with. ’There’s no way he still has his Primordial Yang!’
"My Primordial Yang is still intact," he purred. "If you want it, it’s yours."
"..." Sang Luo was silent. ’She wanted to become stronger, but she wasn’t that desperate. This malicious insect who had lured her here was no good.’
But the members of the Insect Clan outside were watching her with predatory hunger. Sang Luo felt their gazes were filled with an unspeakable greed and desire.
Dark shadows suddenly flickered into view, moving just outside the walls. She realized with a jolt that some members of the Insect Clan were clinging to the windows, peering inside.
"You were supposed to be a tribute to the Insect King, but I kept you for myself. In the eyes of these males, that makes you an unattached female. Fair game for anyone."
His low, husky breath washed over the side of her neck. "These low-level males have no females of their own, and they can go into heat at any moment. If you don’t mate with me right now, the pheromones you’re releasing will attract even more of them. After tonight... I can’t guarantee what will happen."
It was a blatant threat.
