Chapter 32 - Facing the Mech monster's legion

[The following Chapters contain brutal, bloody fights. Proceed with caution I guess.]

"Damn," Julian muttered.

The Mech monster had an army of fellow mech monsters, only they were smaller and, well, he had none.

He inhaled and tilted his head to the left and to the right, bracing himself for what was in front of him.

The Mech Monster smiled, his hands now out from his eye.

"You're good, I must applaud. In fact, you're literally a god because this is the first time I'm having difficulty in facing anyone," the monster said.

"But then, I'm a tech god. I go by the name Mech Tech Monster. I was not at first a—"

Julian interrupted him.

"Quit blabbing, let's fight."

He dashed forward, thrusting his sword into the throat of a mech monster.

He seemed to have opened its carotid artery (that's if it had one), because blood sprayed profusely out of its neck.

Julian stared at the monster, unfazed, and before two could attack him, he threw the still alive but slowly dying mech monster on the two.

The profuse spraying blood entered their eyes and, just as they were reeling backwards, Julian thrust, simultaneously, his sword through the necks of both of them.

Same spot as he did with the first.

He seemed to have plucked open their carotid artery because blood was now gushing out like a loose tap.

It splashed across his face, but he ignored it.

His helmet was on so blood spraying on it was the least of his problems.

The Mech Tech Monster had shifted away now, watching, expecting that his legions of mech monsters would do justice to defeating Julian.

But then, Julian had just killed three, and now, he was killing a fourth, brutally slicing it from the midsection.

For something that was 'mech', Julian was expecting less blood and more steel, but as it seemed, obviously, these mech monsters had more 'flesh' than 'steel'.

Well, that was none of Julian's business.

He would kill them all.

The galactic shield seemed to be very helpful at this point, protecting him from incoming attacks.

He plucked out the eyeball of a mech monster, the optic nerve snapped and, as the eyeball floated in the airless space, Julian could see it stretching out, shaking slightly.

He ducked an incoming sword directed at his head and, doing a quick 360, he kicked the sword and it shot into the mouth of the sender, going as deep into its throat.

The last thing Julian heard from the mech monster was a muffled shout of pain and blood slowly drooling out.

Julian didn't stop there. He went towards it, taking the sword out with force.

It made a ripping-out-of-flesh sound. Something like:

Cruuskkk!

A mech monster was flying at him with great force; Julian didn't see it but felt it and so, out of instinct, he ducked and, instead of the sword aimed at him slicing his throat, it went ahead to slice off (more like 'chop off') the head of the already dying mech monster.

The Mech Tech Monster was sitting on a floating rock.

The place was already teeming with many floating rocks and the star cruiser was soon out of sight.

Julian now stood on a rock and stared at the remaining Mech monsters.

Being scared and being terrified were entirely different things on its own. But now, these monsters weren't scared or terrified; they were horrified.

They weren't so mindless. They had minds of their own and, looking at Julian, they saw him as some god.

God because he wasn't clothed in a mech or planetary governor costume. Julian was clothed in a Knight's armor. Not the normal one but then, one that looked different. Out of the ordinary.

Way too dope-looking for a normal knight armor.

And the way Julian looked at them with this confidence, it was just really scary.

The Mech Tech Monster now stood up from the rock it was sitting on.

Julian watched it, noticing that the eye he had thrust a sword into was now covered by a steel-looking eye patch.

Julian watched it very slowly.

It was another of its 'Tech' wonders. No wonder he called himself (yes, he could now be addressed as "him" as it was clearly male and not genderless), the Mech Tech Monster, because indeed, it was doing wonders with tech.

The Mech Tech Monster raised his hands up and halted the mech monsters.

He smiled and grinned, looking at Julian in a gaze that combined being surprised and being impressed.

He then smiled.

"So far," he began. "So good. I mean, you've been the best so far. You've killed almost all of my mech soldiers."

Julian raised a brow.

"So that means you'll just admit I won, let me go, and continue your life. At least find a weaker victim?"

The monster laughed.

"If you had been this ruthless when we first started, I would have considered doing this. But then, that time I beat you and went your head through the meteorites, I felt you were weak and something pulled you back in. If you ask me, I'd say you cheated. I don't know."

If Julian was being honest, he would say he almost died if not for the motivation Xea had given him and his healing points.

Nevertheless, he cheated the most.

"You say I cheated?" Julian asked and scoffed. "Pathetic. Weren't you the one who summoned your legion of mech monsters and is still losing? C'mon! How shameless can you be."

The monster continued, his voice hoarse, thick, and draggy.

"When your helmet came off and I saw your face, I sensed, with my tech, that you are not from this galaxy or even from the next. You come from a weaker race. One that is very easy to kill. One I could squish like a bug!"

'From a weaker race and not from this galaxy or the next?' Julian thought. Wasn't he from Zyros? Or was this bastard trying to talk, make him ponder, and then, do something unexpected.

Julian quickly came out of the assumptions. He wouldn't let this bastard get him.

"If you want to die then bring it on, face me I guess," Julian said to the monster, no longer afraid (was he even in the first place? He earlier was after being motivated by Xea, he no longer feared.)

The mech monster laughed, looking at his dumb-skulled legion who looked back like they had their brains thrown into the sun already. Like the sun had melted every morsel of sense they would ever have.

"While I nursed my wound, the fuckin' wound you gave me!, I thought and I also watched. With the way you fought, it seemed like you had trained for many years in combat and so, you seem to be impossible in that field. For you to win against a lord in combat like me, I realized you must really be a pro," the Mech Tech Monster said.

Julian carefully listened, knowing yet again that something massive was incoming.

"To cut the whole story short since I learnt you don't like too much talk," the monster grinned, snapping his fingers.

The moment he did so, all the swords in the hands of the remaining Mech monsters (about 14 remained), surprisingly turned to large-looking guns.

"So if we can't defeat you with steel..."

Julian had been staring at them, amazed. And when he turned to face the large Mech Monster, he saw a very large-looking gun in its hands.

Edges were woven like threads, surface silk-like glass.

The monster was very tall, he knew, but it holding a gun as large as that?

What could happen.

"...we'll defeat you with bullets!"

Boom!

A very large bullet shot out of the gun. Concurrently, the other Mech monsters did the same.

Boom!

An explosion that rented the air with a deafening blast, shattering almost all the floating rocks and Julian's eardrums.
