Galactic knight: Apocalypse system Activated!-Chapter 40: Facing the Multitude of Steel Monsters
Chapter 40: Facing the Multitude of Steel Monsters
Julian was stupefied.
Shock was an understatement.
He had wanted to stay here for up to two days?
Who was he kidding.
He wouldn’t survive less than a minute at this point. No matter the gravity power he had, he just couldn’t face this teeming mass of steel monsters, especially now that they came in different shapes and sizes.
One had had spiky stuff filling its back, another had two ugly heads with ugly faces.
One had six feet, wrinkled set of sharp pointy teeth and a large metallic hunchback.
Julian backed Rehul on his back now. If he knew, perhaps he wouldn’t have brought her along.
Well, at this point, he could only say:
What if and what not.
Not that it would really change anything.
Xea spoke to him now.
’[Change of plans, we must get out of here before today runs out.]’
Julian didn’t even want to stay for an hour.
’[It wasn’t supposed to be like this. You could have done things silently with caution. At least that was what I earlier planned. But then, the ranting man ruined it for you and now, Rehul is well, a disability.]’
It was true, that bastard of the tech man ruined everything.
Rehul wasn’t hearing the things the device was telling him by the way. Not like she cared in the deathful situation.
"What is solution to all this now," he asked Xea.
"[The man earlier talked of a land-quaking device. He said that was his hope of surviving here at first but he couldn’t power it.]"
Julian nodded thoughtfully, very quickly though, as the steel monsters were regrouping.
"[I’m not too sure but I hope it works. With your galactic powers I bet you can power this thing.]"
Julian nodded thoughtfully yet again.
"So...?" he asked.
’[Well, it’s up to you now. Find it!]’
"Who are you talking to?" Rehul asked.
"My consultant," Julian said, trying to wave it. "It’s just a tech stuff."
A loud metallic sound halted their talking.
Down, the monolithic steel monsters had lined together as a group and were ready to fight.
Julian tried to estimate how many they were.
They looked almost a fifty, or perhaps more than it.
They looked massive in number.
Julian swallowed a large portion of the air.
He gulped it down.
He watched.
He squinted his eyes.
He sighed.
He clenched his fists.
A missile followed his earlier acts. He dodged.
He looked at who sent it.
It was from a mega-looking steel monster. One that looked like it had a large armor forged together with its former one.
"I have a plan," Julian said to Rehul, who he was backing like a little child.
He flew away from the steel monsters.
A steel monster leapt in the air...
Whoosh!
Julian glanced backwards to look at it.
Stardamn! [A Sci-fi alternative of the word goddamn, created by your beloved author]
Julian looked at it, not knowing if he should cry or laugh.
It could fly!
Stardamn!
He could hardly believe what he was seeing.
The fuckin’ steel monster could fly.
White flames shot from its hands and its legs, steadying it in the sky.
Julian could hardly breathe at this point.
But then, he remembered something Xea told before he embarked on his journey of this forsaken planet.
It was:
[Be ruthless]
[Don’t give fucks!]
[Be brutal]
Julian sighed. He was going to do just that. Not even minding for the safety of his own life, he was going to be brutal, ruthless and don’t give fucks.
He was going to risk it all.
Many more steel monsters were starting to fly now.
Julian was shocked.
’How the fuck did the ranting man and the petite girl survive here.’
’How!’
’Just how did they do that!’
Or were they just sick in the head they assumed they spent two weeks here when in reality it was only but a day or two.
That was a mystery he might never find the answer to.
Now, he had a new plan and as he dodged the bombs and bullets directed to him by the steel monster, he told Rehul his plan.
It was really difficult, but he tried and soon mastered where would direct the bombs and bullets to.
Swerve to the right, then the right, swerve to the left again, then backwards, duck, carry Rehul in front of you and then, do something similar to what he had been doing.
Some bullets met him but he tried really hard that the bombs didn’t.
He sometimes plunged very far off so they wouldn’t meet him and that was where he told Rehul his plan.
Perhaps too much smashing had made her soft he couldn’t say, because right now, he wanted her to be ruthless and fight like a ’stardamn’ warrior!
His plan was quite simple:
Since many of the steel monsters could fly and just about sixteen couldn’t, he would drop her down to face them off. Not really fight them face to face but instead dodge their attacks, run for her life and retaliate when necessary. All while finding for the dead ranting man’s body to find any device (or devices) which he would dash downwards to collect from her.
Rehul agreed.
The brutality of the steel monster earlier must have scared the hell out of her but now, she seemed to be acting like the normal.
Julian had racked all the flying monsters to be chasing him in air.
It was time to drop Rehul.
"Ready?" he asked Rehul.
"Just let go of me, I can land myself."
Julian liked the spirit.
"Sharp!" he muttered, before letting go of her. freёnovelkiss.com
She fell...
In air, Rehul pressed a button which changed her armor into something more heavy and powerful-looking.
Julian nodded his head, satisfied as he watched her land.
He then flew forward, sending a thick punch to a steel monster who was blocking his way.
He wouldn’t fight them, hell no, he would die doing so.
So instead of fighting them, he would simply play with them.
He flew around, almost in circles, trying to make them follow.
His plan at this point was to just distract them, to lure them to himself.
If he could also lure the ones that couldn’t fly to follow him, it’d be great also.
They seemed to be very strong and resilient, and he wouldn’t have survived if not for his gravitational powers.
They sent missile-looking things, with sharp pointy edges, something Xea scanned and told Julian could explode and cut him in half at the same time.
Explode and cut him in half?, Julian could only imagine.
He controlled them and repelled the bombs and bullets back to the steel monsters that sent them and soon, he had successfully killed three.
He kind of liked the idea of fighting them in the air. If it was on land, he would surely have a lot of difficulty as when the steel monster had killed the ranting man and the petite girl, it had been very fast.
But in the air right now, they had difficulty in steadying themselves, whilst he was doing so with ease.
He flew and repelled the attacks at him back like a pro. Like he did this for a living.
Meanwhile, Rehul was sliding under a monster and at the same time, she pulled the trigger of a high-tech gun in her hands which released a bullet that blasted off the head of a two-headed steel monster that was coming at her...
