Game World's Awakening-Chapter 144: He’s my father
Chapter 144: He’s my father
Jenna was blunt in her response. "I’m doing great, Dad, Mom. Everyone is so good to me, and I’m getting much stronger lately. I can almost see when I’ll reach the next rank."
"Hahaha, as expected of my girl." Her father beamed proudly.
"Still... don’t fight those beasts too much. You must take care of yourself." Her mother was still worried.
Jenna shrugged and pulled them both in. "Come along. Let’s go to a nice place to eat. My treat."
"Oh, the girl has grown up. Now she even makes enough money to invite her parents over, ha,ha,ha, " her father joked with a warm laugh.
Her mother could only watch how this stubborn old man supported Jenna in everything and didn’t even reprimand her once.
’Tsk, I guess fighting with them about this is pointless.’
She’d already forgotten how many times she’d done it. It was pointless.
In the end, she ended up following her daughter and her husband closely.
The three of them left in Jenna’s parents’ car and went to the Summer Flower Restaurant, the most famous restaurant in town.
As they entered, her mother seemed to remember something and looked at Jenna.
"Right, what about that boy you were mentioning to us? Elliot. Where is he?" she asked suddenly, startling Jenna.
She suddenly turned slightly red and smiled.
"He must be sleeping right now. We just finished a month of continuous training, and it’s been complicated."
"Sleeping this late?" her mother seemed to snap, but in a joking manner. "Give him a call. Tell him to join us. Since we came all this way, we should at least meet him."
Then she looked at her husband. "Right?"
He tensed for a moment before simply nodding. He seemed to be concentrating on driving...or maybe he was annoyed.
Naturally, it was the latter. His wife had just done this because she knew it would annoy him; she wanted to play a little.
Though naturally, meeting the legendary Elliot that Jenna had told them so much about by message was also very important.
Especially since Jenna had shown herself to be so enamored with him, just by how she talked about him.
Who had managed to make Jenna fall in love with him? Not that she wasn’t a person who was prone to that, like her older sister, who was so extremely cold that she had a very hard time getting a mate.
Jenna was nicer but, at times, very closed-mouthed and also a bit arrogant. They didn’t think she would have a hard time getting a mate, but now that she was so interested in someone, they needed to get to know him. ƒreewebɳovel.com
He must at least pass specific tests if he wants to be with Jenna, their treasure.
Jenna didn’t notice that her father might be jealous and upset about this. She just quickly dialed Elliot’s number, and it was soon answered.
"Elliot, were you awake?"
"I just woke up. It’s funny you’re up so early. Looks like you were able to get some rest."
"Hehe. If you’re already awake, how about we meet up right now? At the Summer Flower Restaurant. My parents want to meet you."
"Huh? Your parents?" Elliot was stunned on the other end of the phone.
"Yes. They’re with me. They are asking you to come to the restaurant. I’ll wait for you." She was quick to hang up, as they were already on their way, which left Elliot completely stunned.
He immediately jumped up.
’Shit.’ He immediately ran to a mirror and looked at himself to see if he was presentable.
After confirming everything he needed to do to be ’presentable,’ he ran full speed to the bathroom.
He bathed and shaved as much as he could.
Then the choice of clothes was crucial.
He could not go as he always dressed to meet his girlfriend’s parents. That would be an insult, even more so knowing that her parents are government figures, belonging to a family that, while not very famous for having powerful Awakenings, is famous for having an incredible status within politics.
Especially her father. The man who survived a Ruin and, it is said, learned the Nurotaur language there.
They were too important!
He couldn’t go to see them in a tracksuit, that was for sure.
So, he couldn’t go to their apartment. He had to go to the guild’s specialized Clothing Store and ask them to fix him up in less than 30 minutes with the fanciest attire they could afford.
He could not choose; he was not good at choosing his clothes, so he left everything to the professionals. Along the way, they also cut his hair and even washed his face with strange creams, which left his skin glowing.
In less than 30 minutes, he was completely groomed and looked incredibly elegant. His natural masculine beauty was suddenly enhanced, attracting the attention of anyone who saw him.
He was wearing a classic three-piece suit of the highest quality fabric—Navy blue in color. Inside, a cream-colored dress shirt was adorned with a brown tie, matching leather shoes, and a belt.
He was adorned with a dress watch on his wrist and a handkerchief resting in his jacket pocket (which he would possibly never wear).
In a figure as remarkable as his and with a masculine beauty that had been increased in the last few days by good training and strengthening, for he was now already in the Master Rank, he naturally attracted the attention of all who saw him.
He called for his personal chauffeur, which Master Steward bestowed upon all the Awakened Ones of the Guild, and was driven to the location.
He was incredibly nervous, but he grabbed all the confidence in the world when he saw himself in the mirror.
’I’m a Master and I still look so good. I should say I’m a good match for Jenna.’ He smiled full of confidence and took several steps inside the Restaurant.
Inside, someone greeted him. He already knew him.
Who wouldn’t know Elliot Clark in Loen City these days?
Even though he looked a little different, a little too handsome, they could still recognize him.
"Young Mr. Elliot, welcome to our restaurant." Greeted who came to greet him. "Miss Jenna asked me to wait for you here. I will take you to the room." He spoke.
A small plaque on his chest revealed his rank: General Manager.
Someone important and rich.
"Good." Elliot nodded and followed close behind.
Everyone in the area couldn’t help but give him a few glances until he disappeared.
They took the elevator to the third floor and then went to Jenna’s reserved room.

Jenna’s parents were a bit impatient at this point, especially the Sir.
"Tsk, look at it. It’s taking so long to come and meet the parents of the girl he says he likes... Tsk, that would be a big insult to the family in my day." He said, clearly angry.
Jenna smiled, "Dad, he probably went to get ready. Like I told you, we just finished training for a month..."
"I don’t care." He drank some water. "He’s still irresponsible."
Jenna smiled again, helplessly. Since Elliot hadn’t arrived, they hadn’t ordered food. Maybe he was just hungry.
Just at those moments, the door rang.
A voice came from the other side.
"Miss Jenna, Mr. and Mrs. White, Young Master Elliot is here."
Jenna jumped to her feet, smiling, and looked back.
"Come in." She said quickly.
The door opened, and the General Manager stepped aside for Elliot to pass through.
Upon entering, Elliot was momentarily stunned to see Jenna’s beauty today. She was wearing light makeup and a loose yet elegant dress that enhanced her femininity, white with light blue accents.
Something similar happened to Jenna. When they both looked at each other, there was a second when they didn’t move for precisely the same reason.
The beauty of the other stunned them.
Jenna was the first to react and ran to him. "Come, Elliot. Meet my parents." Her beaming smile brought Elliot out of his initial stupor, and he walked towards them.
These two were looking at him with interest, though one of them frowned as he watched Jenna get so close to him.
Too bad he didn’t have powers in his eyes. If he had them, surely a killer beam would have separated them.
But natural parental jealousy aside, he also seemed to have a hint of curiosity in his eyes. It struck him as curious because he felt like his face had seen it before...somewhere...a long, long time ago.
Or at least it had an air that reminded him of something.
Elliot quickly stepped forward and introduced himself.
"Mr. and Mrs. White, I had been looking forward to meeting you for some time. I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner; we’ve been busy recently." He smiled politely and graciously. "I’m Elliot, Jenna’s boyfriend."
The mother was the first to react.
"Little boy, how old are you?" she asked.
"I just turned 18, Mrs. White."
"Oh." She nodded. "Are you a Loen native?"
"I am."
"Gee, I feel like I’ve seen you before." She said suddenly, but then shook her head. "Maybe a mistake." She said, but smiled kindly at him.
"Since Jenna has spoken well for you, we wanted to meet you too. You can call me..." As she sought to introduce herself, suddenly Jenna’s father tapped gently on the table.
"What’s your last name, kid?" He asked suddenly.
Elliot looked at him. "Excuse my earlier introduction; I didn’t give my last name." He apologized sincerely. "My last name is Clark, Mr. White."
"Clark?" He frowned.
"Are you any relation to Mr. Luke ’SkyDome’ Clark?"
Elliot’s eyes twinkled a little. "He’s my father."
