"Hey, is Miss Liu's guild called Cold Crow?" Chaichai asked, her eyes sparkling. "It sounds quite nice."

"It's alright, I guess." Li Ang pursed his lips. Chaichai had a rather good impression of Liu Wu Dai, partly because they were both daughters of affluent families, and partly because Liu Wu Dai had participated in the Solitary Cold Temple mission and saved Chaichai.

"According to estimates and speculations on the forums, with the current adjustments to experience coefficients in the slaughter game, Lv18 and Lv19 players only need one mission to reach Lv20. Even those at Lv17 could manage it with some effort. So, after this script mission with Liu Wu Dai and the others, I should meet the minimum criteria for the War of the Gate," Li Ang stated calmly. "Whether I leave the guild then will depend on the circumstances."

It wasn't that he looked down on Liu Wu Dai or Wanli Fengdao for lacking strength; he was just accustomed to operating alone, and having a few permanent teammates felt a bit awkward. Besides, if Liu Wu Dai and the others were to notice certain details during a long-term association, investigate, and discover my real-world identity... that would be quite troublesome.

"Oh, I see." Chaichai nodded. Just as she was about to ask something else, she noticed a slight change in Li Ang's expression.

[Mission trigger conditions met]

[Guild team function utilized. Mission type adjusted to Team]

[Mission Type: Script Mission (Team)]

[Mission Name: Holiday Hotel]

[Mission Objective: In five hours, carry a standard-brand suitcase packed with daily necessities and await teleportation]

[Mission Time Limit: None]

[Mission Rewards: To be announced upon receiving the next task prompt]

[Failure Penalty: To be announced upon receiving the next task prompt]

"It's here." Li Ang slowly let out a heavy breath. After a few brief words with Miss Chai, he opened his friends list.

As expected, Liu Wu Dai, Wanli Fengdao, and Mule had all sent messages; the four of them had received the same script mission. The mission's name and objective were very simple, offering no useful information. The time limit, rewards, and penalties were similarly unrevealed.

After a brief discussion, the four players packed their luggage and equipment, awaiting the teleportation.

Five hours passed quickly.

Li Ang was dressed in his usual white lab coat and Dragon Head Mask, with a Mirage Dragon Red Mane Sweater underneath. He carried a black aluminum-magnesium alloy suitcase—to conceal his identity, all brand markings had been removed, and it was covered in various anime stickers.

As the minute hand of the clock pointed to twelve, when Li Ang opened his eyes again, the scene before him was no longer his living room but a wilderness.

Gloomy, dark clouds covered the sky, obscuring any trace of sunlight. A gray, slightly chilly fog permeated the surroundings. Even with Li Ang's spiritual vision, he couldn't see anything beyond five meters—this remained true even when he used his Divine Power. The ground beneath his feet was paved with fine, uniform bluish-gray gravel. It didn't look natural, resembling more a temporary path laid at a construction site.

The whole world seemed stripped of all color; the only object with any color was a tall building not far in front of Li Ang.

The building stood silently in the foggy wilderness. Predominantly brown, it rose fourteen stories, including the ground floor, with a fire escape ladder on the right side of its facade. On the right of the fire escape, and also on the left side of the building, hung vertical signboards with red backgrounds and white lettering that read "Dolphin Hotel." Above the main entrance on the ground floor, a white sign with golden lettering also proclaimed "Dolphin Hotel." Below this sign was a glass door with a golden frame.

The entire building stood directly on the gravel. Its doors were tightly shut, no lights were on inside, and all windows were firmly closed. There were no paved roads, parked vehicles, street vendors, or decorative plants in the vicinity, nor any signs of recent human activity.

Numerous details suggested that this building, named Dolphin Hotel, must have once seen glorious days—its understated yet refined exterior was a testament to this. Unfortunately, even the most fashionable and modern structures cannot withstand the erosion of time. Now, the so-called Dolphin Hotel was merely a dilapidated, cramped (only fourteen stories), and outdated lodge.

[Stage 1 Mission Objective: Enter Dolphin Hotel]

[Mission Time Limit: 20 minutes]

[Mission Reward: None]

[Mission Failure Penalty: None]

[During this mission, players cannot summon any entities, including animals, plants, microorganisms, Mechanical constructs, or Spiritual Bodies.]

[During this mission, the friendly fire shield will be temporarily disabled.]

The System notification resounded directly in their minds, yet no one moved.

One, two, three, four...

The players standing on the gravel path cautiously observed one another—alert, wary, and scrutinizing.

Li Ang, Liu Wu Dai, and their companions hadn't entered alone as a guild team. In front of the Dolphin Hotel, including them, there were... fourteen players in total!

One man, effeminately handsome, wore a white suit and gold-rimmed glasses, exuding the air of a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'.

Another wore a pitch-black Evil Spirit Mask and Black Gold Dual-colored Armor, holding a tome in his left hand and a Serpentine Dagger in his right, a suitcase at his feet.

One was a towering figure, nearly two and a half meters tall. He was bare-chested, draped in blue chainmail, and wielded a Great Sword as tall as a man. He also wore a pitch-black Evil Spirit Mask, though its design was less ornate than the previous one.

There were three players with dark complexions: one tall and lanky, wearing chainmail; one portly and bulky in leather armor, whose face looked vaguely familiar; and one robust and muscular, bare-chested, with only a wolf-fang necklace around his neck.

Additionally, there was a figure in a crow's beak mask, resembling a plague doctor, holding a Snake Head Staff.

A young, pretty East Asian girl in a blue and white sailor uniform had a narrow katana tied at her waist.

A grim-faced youth in a black suit, his dark skin hinting at South American heritage, had his hair styled in dozens of dreadlocks.

And finally, a bizarre figure in a red robe, its head encased in a spherical fish tank filled with deep blue liquid, completely obscuring its face.

The remaining four, Li Ang and his group, retained their attire from the Game Square earlier that day. They stood together loosely, sizing up the other players.

Fourteen players!

The number of players in a mission wasn't directly proportional to its difficulty, but the sheer quantity of participants often hinted at the level of danger involved. To gather fourteen players above Lv15 all at once... Just what kind of horrors are lurking inside this Dolphin Hotel...?
