Genetic Ascension-Chapter 1981: Another
Sylas felt the Seed form more intimately than ever before. His understanding of his body had reached a truly exaggerated level after reaching Fathomless Rune Creation of the F-tier. But this was the first time that Sylas' Rune Mastery was both perfect and at his tier level.
The combination of these two factors made it so that there was absolutely nothing but the deepest reaches of Sylas' body that he couldn't control on a single whim.
In such a situation, the only limitation to the changes Sylas could make to himself were based on the extent of his Will, his own Comprehension, and his own creativity.
That was to say that there wasn't a single chance that anything could happen in his body without certain parameters that would escape his notice.
The feeling of the Seed Formation felt so very surreal. What Sylas hadn't known before was that it originated at the Free Chaos Layer of his body before spreading downward toward the deepest Layer of Potential, and then, only then, would it weave its way all the way back up through the Layers until it reached the level whereupon the Sylas of the past had been able to sense it.
Sylas was sure that there were a great deal of secrets in this formation pattern, but as fascinated as he was by this, he was even more enamoured by the complexity of the Seed itself. It reminded him of... 'Legendary Luck Gene...'
That wasn't to say that the Lust Seed was one version of the Legendary Luck Gene but instead that the Principles were eerily similar... both existed to vastly improve the foundation of one's abilities, and both through pathways that seemed far more ethereal than real.
Luck was intangible, or rather, it should be.
As were the emotions that dictated one's Sins and Virtues.
'Making the intangible, tangible... and the highest form of this is...'
Will.
As much of an internal monologue as Sylas had been having about Intention, or Gluttony and Greed, and now Luck and Lust, were they not all the same thing?
'Simplified snippets of Will.'
A realization overwhelmed Sylas.
They were all one and the same. Madness, Luck, Intention... each one was just another Art of Will utilisation.
'Arcane Madness Will...'
Sylas had had it ever since he stepped into Legendary Madness the first time. However, nothing about his Will seemed to have changed at all.
The only guess he had had back then was that it must have been related to Arcane Telekinesis. But even when it came to Arcane Telekinesis, there wasn't a very deep understanding on Sylas' part.
All this time, Sylas thought that maybe Arcane Madness Will was something he wouldn't be able to sense in earnest until his Will was at a much higher level.
He had originally unlocked Arcane Madness Will due to an understanding of himself that came from the formation of his Virtue of Pride Seed.
By all rights, he should have never grasped a perfect Madness Path so early on, so it would make sense that the reward was something he just couldn't use.
Granted, Sylas' Will was now at False Infinity. If others knew that he just thought it wasn't good enough, it would be hard to say if they'd choose to continue on living.
Any Will that touched upon the Infinite tiers was something that usually only appeared in A-tiers at the very worst. Those that could break this rule were either from very special God Clans, or they were geniuses of a tier of their
own.
For Sylas to run into an ability of Will he couldn't use was near impossible. Even if he did run into such a thing, in at least half such cases it would be because he couldn't sustain it, not because he couldn't activate it at all.
But now Sylas understood. It was a case of his Fathomless Rune Creation once again.
He could use it.
He just didn't know how...
Half because he couldn't really feel the difference and another half because he had no idea what it was.
But just now, during the formation of the Lust Seed, Sylas sensed another part of his being, one that existed outside of himself.
Arcane Madness Will wasn't Sylas' own Will at all. It was a well of Will that existed not in himself, but instead in the Arcane itself, a well of Will he could access directly through his Seed.
Sylas' greatest weakness had never been his Will, but instead that his powerful Will was forced into the box of his Tier.
Yet, all this time, he had had access to a well of it outside of himself.
A well that arrived from all the Pride of the universe.
And now a well that came from all the Lust of the universe.
However, using this well came at a cost, the cost of an attack on the mind, an attack that could never be weathered by someone who hadn't fully grasped the Virtue... and yet, even then, it could very well corrupt someone beyond what they could withstand.
The understanding flooded into Sylas in waves as he sensed what existed beyond himself. He had only ever cared about his own Will, his own strength, what he could do. He had never had the desire to rely on an external item or even hope to receive someone's help... It was no wonder he had never realized just what Arcane Madness Will
was.
But, he also realized one other thing...
The choice he created just now, the one to decide the direction of his Dao, had changed everything.
Sylas didn't want to make himself a small part of the universe. The idea alone filled him with disgust.
Any Dao he formed would be his and his alone. If a bridge was to be formed, it would be of the universe toward him, not the other way around.
And that decision he made...
Severed the Path of Arcane Madness Will for him.
And it opened another.
