Sylas stood there for a moment, somewhat in disbelief at what they had managed to accomplish as well. Well, at least for a moment before Gogo’s psyche overwhelmed his own, tilting his head to the skies and unleashing a roar.

Their scales bristled, and the golden light that coated them only grew more fierce.

For the first time, Sylas bothered to check the Basilisk King’s stats and calmly analyzed them as though they were the only thing that could calm him down from his mental high.

’Peculiar…’

Honestly speaking, he felt that Gogo’s stats should be much higher than these. But that interaction, especially when Gogo tried to tell him his true name, made Sylas realize that the little guy was being held back by more than he knew.

Regardless, these stats were amazing considering the state of Earth.

A ripple passed through Sylas’ mind and he frowned. He didn’t want to pull out of Total Merge. Something told him that the moment he did, the clarity he felt from the Gluttony Seed speaking to him would vanish. Explore more adventures at novelbuddy

Unfortunately…

Exhaling a breath, he expelled himself.

Palms of Fate came to a slow end, and Sylas could feel his Will plummeting back down to Shaping.

This Title… was truly an odd one.

Palms of Fate didn’t end because it was on a timer. Rather, because it was active—like the Title said—the Laws of the World soothed him while he was in that state.

Not only did this mean his Rune Spark Mastery got injected with steroids, but the Laws themselves actually helped to heal him.

By the time Gogo finally remembered to spit him out, Sylas’ condition had recovered by over 90%. And the only reason he wasn’t at 100% was because his Aether was still a bit depleted.

That wasn’t even really the Title’s fault. The main issue was that when Glassvolt Comprehension activated, Sylas’ Intelligence and Aether increased by a factor of ten. Because of that, his Aether Pathways underwent a lot of battering and damage.

But then he went and pushed it even further than that, practically tearing himself up from the inside out.

Most of the power of the Laws went to healing his broken Aether Pathways, which was honestly a good thing. Otherwise, he might end up in a crippled state he wouldn’t be able to easily make his way out of.

This wasn’t to say that Palms of Fate was such a great healing method. The only reason it could rip him back from the brink of death like that was because of the synergy between Sylas’ shocking Will advancement, his Rune Mastery, and, most importantly, the fact he was at the Center of the Earth right now.

Palms of Fate allowed the Laws of the World to soothe him, but how much he benefited from that was all up to him.

If Sylas was only at Rune Breath, for example, maybe Palms of Fate would allow him to use Rune Soul, potentially. Of course, that was still an enormous boost, but it wouldn’t be enough for the Laws of the World to spontaneously heal him to such an extent.

It was only because of his Spark Mastery—not to mention the Progenitor Flame Abilities that came with it—that he benefited so much.

Otherwise, Palms of Fate would be a Title that was not only incredibly difficult to trigger the effects of, but it would last too short a time.

That was because the moment you were healed enough that it was no longer active, the Laws of the World would no longer consider you.

The only way to extend the time was by increasing your Will so the Title’s activation was more forgiving.

And that was what Earth had allowed Sylas to do.

’It seems that this Title will be very important to me in the future… but right now my Will is too weak to make use of it properly. I wonder… was that the real potential of Spark Mastery? It’s no wonder Gralith said that this is just the beginning…’

Somehow it still felt odd.

Spark Mastery was something that most couldn’t even hope to touch in their lifetimes. Just what did it mean for it to only be the beginning? Just how much was the current system missing out on compared to the previous iterations?

Sylas’ Aether flared and Gogo’s saliva jetted away from him, slapping into the distance.

Though his senses had become considerably duller now, he could feel that something was still calling out to him. He patted Gogo’s side, the warmth of his Contract pooling through his palms and fingers.

"Let’s go. Something is calling us."

Gogo released a low grumble.

"You can eat them now if you want. But if you do, we won’t be able to do the next step together."

Digesting E-Grades would be no joke. He would definitely have to put Gogo in the Hibernation Realm for that, and despite the shocking recovery ability in there, Sylas still bet it would take a while before Gogo could come back out.

The Basilisk King blinked as though weighing his options.

"Alright, just go on, then."

As though released from chains, Gogo rushed forward. His thinking wasn’t complex enough to consider why Sylas would want to do what came next with him; he was just hungry.

Sylas’ lip couldn’t help but quirk a little bit. Somehow he felt like he had just gained a little brother. As partial as he was to his little sister, a lot of that seemed to have already been transferred over somewhat to Gogo.

Without any hint of propriety, Gogo swallowed them all, including Aki.

Despite their small size compared to his own, the Basilisk King’s belly bulged out like a balloon. As expected, Sylas had no choice but to pull him into the Hibernation Realm. It seemed that this next step would have to be done on his own.

But… he knew that there would be no danger this time.

Sylas began to sink into the pool of blood.

A mere moment after he left, there was another split in the skies.

A man appeared, and then visible confusion colored his features.

"… What the hell?"

Archibald seemed to forget how to speak in his olden age dialect.
